Darren Clayton’s Saturday Albion Park Preview Posted on May 13, 2022May 13, 2022 | Posted by Darren Clayton Race 1 OUR BONDI BEACH (1) is at his best when tucked in behind the speed and saved for a passing lane strike. Forget his recent numbers, he finds the conditions to take his shot. PARAVANI (4) looks the tempo setter and was grabbed in the closing stages last start when leading them up to be 5m in arrears of the winner. BEAU CISHLOM (5) took a seat last start after finding the front soon after the start and the was just a half-neck from the winner. STREITKID (8) would be a major threat if drawn anywhere on the front line but lands the worst gate for his free-rolling pattern. Selections: 1-4-5-8 Suggested Bet: OUR BONDI BEACH (1) to win Race 2 WATTS UP SUNSHINE (10) was sent to the breeze from gate 7 last start and sitting outside Adam Crocker in a 1.51.3 mile saw the sun set on his chances. With a smart trial on Tuesday, he has the class. JUDDY DOUGLAS (4) has copped a second line gate at his past two starts which goes against the pattern of his best work. An all the way winner from gate 3 three starts back puts him in the fight. THE IDEAL DANCER (5) was nabbed in the last strides of a mid-week contest two starts back and can be up near the action. REGULUS (1) should secure the ideal trip from this alley to fill the exotics. Selections: 10-4-5-1 Suggested Bet: WATTS UP SUNSHINE (10) to win Race 3 HEMSWORTH (2) was sent straight to the front last start and once in control was never in danger, putting it out of reach for the chasers in a 27.1 close out. #LeaderPeter might just put on a clinic tonight. KASHED UP (8) has been runner-up at his past two, the latest when making some nice metres behind Adam Crocker. The gate will see him searching for gaps. MANILA PLAYBOY (6) is the query first up from a spell but certainly has the class and trialled in nice order for the return. FLYING ART (3) put in a get on me next time effort three starts back and has won both subsequent appearances, but may just need to do the heavy lifting. Selections: 2-8-6-3 Suggested Bet: HEMSWORTH (2) to win Race 4 BLACKSADANCE (9) carved it out in front last start breaking the track record of Im Themigthyquinn, doing it all himself on the engine. Both runs prior were super, he just needs the smallest rub of the green. SPEECH IS SILVER (6) was beaten in the track record performance after copping a stiff gate and would have been closer with better luck two starts back. CRUNCH TIME (7) is likely to run in the red for this contest but maps to get a tough trip from outside the front. IT AINT THE MONEY (4) never saw uninterrupted gaps last start but still motored home and has the gate hustle to get forward. Selections: 9-6-7-4 Suggested Bet: BLACKSADANCE (9) to win Race 5 MISDEMEANOR (8) grabbed 3rd behind the dictating Which Hunt here last week after being driven for luck. Strong to the line two starts back, she will be stalking the speed. WHICH HUNT (1) made the most of her opportunities last start after finding the front to take them all the way. She maps for a steady time early which is a big plus. PELOSI (10) cops another stiff gate after 7 was her undoing last time. Mare’s only grade looks more suitable. WITH THE BAND (7) will tighten from her first run back from a spell after joining the Garrard stable. The gate stings second up. Selections: 8-1-10-7 Suggested Bet: MISDEMEANOR (8) to win Race 6 WILL THE WIZARD (6) is going better than his returns suggest, he has just been devoid of luck at his past three starts. Winning a tougher race than this four starts back, he can defy the gate. BITCOIN (7) is at a market high and sticking to the poles grabbed a 3rd in the FFA two starts back. Another smart 3rd last start, but he cops the horror draw. FEELINGFORARAINBOW (1) should appreciate this grade after he tried to lead throughout from the tapes at Redcliffe last start where Colt Thirty One returned to winning form. COMMODORE JUJON (4) is never far from the money and was beaten by the tempo last week behind Crunch Time. Selections: 6-7-1-4 Suggested Bet: WILL THE WIZARD (6) to win Race 7 UNCLE SHANK (4) will strip fitter following his return from a break where he was nabbed in the last stride by Rocks Or Diamonds that had the cold sit on him. From the gate, out in front, #LeaderPeter up, this looks right in the wheelhouse. ROCK BOTTOM (6) chimed into the money again last time after doing it the tough way to grab 3rd behind Squire. The gate makes it tough. BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (7) has been to the track six times this season for a smart win and 2nd placing in the other five. The gate takes the lustre off. CANT REFUSE (2) gets the chance to fire some early bullets here as he still searches for something near his best. Selections: UNCLE SHANK (4), ROCK BOTTOM (6), BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (7), CANT REFUSE (2) Suggested Bet: UNCLE SHANK (4) to win Race 8 SOMEGIRLSOMEWHERE (4) might just have enough hustle off the arm to get across here and from the front would be right in calculations. Beaten 5m last start, the run to the first turn could tell the tale. CLOWNS TOTHE LEFT (6) was never in contention at her first Qld start after positioned near the rear. Finding the front was the catalyst for a reversal at her next start to take them all the way, where she maps here is the query. BEJIGGITY (8) has never stepped out here at The Creek but brings a good Redcliffe record which includes wins at her past two. CATCH PHRASE (5) faces the sticky gate and will need to find position with limited work to make a play. Selections: 4-6-8-5 Suggested Bet: SOMEGIRLSOMEWHERE (4) to win Race 9 WATTS UP MAJESTIC (9) delivered a standout performance in the Trotters Marathon three starts back after doing a mountain of work. Beaten in red figures at his past two, the bounce back is on. VAN SANK (5) has had a super season from limited outings, claiming 4 from 5 including the last three in succession and has started to become a more complete conveyance. SIR FAHRENHEIT (11) might just need the run, resuming here from the tough gate off the back of successive wins from the mobile. KAR MANOR (1) rises in grade for this battle but mobile conditions from this alley is in his favour. Selections: 9-5-11-1 Suggested bet: WATTS UP MAJESTIC (9) to win Race 10 BANGKOK DEEJAY (3) had just the solitary start last preparation where he had too much closing speed up the passing lane. With 3 wins from his 6 starts, his preparatory trial was sharp, and he looks a classy type. GOTTA GO MILKING (6) was a tragedy beaten here last week, looming ominously only to cop interference, lose his momentum, finish 3rd and get promoted to 2nd in the room. The gate makes it tricky. DELIGHTFUL LOU (7) has taken big inroads this season and was game in defeat after making an error in the APG Final claimed by Cat King Cole last start. She is progressing in smart order. ALWAYSBME (1) faces a stiff rise in grade but the inside alley with the economical trip appeals. Selections: 3-6-7-1 Suggested Bet: BANGKOK DEEJAY (3) to win Market Market
