All horses are first-up and her 3 year old form alongside Kaptain Kaos, How’s The Serenity, Son Son and Acromantula reads up particularly well. Should bounce on the lead from the inside draw and looks the one they all have to run down. NO DICE showed ability as a 2 year old. Her debut run when fourth behind Flying Missile was promising. Didn’t have much go her way after that. ENDLESS BOUNTY has tactical speed to take up a prominent position. GOLDEN RACK finds a new home. The trial before his debut was good. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – CRITICAL ALTITUDE WIN RACE 2 FOREVER DREAMING put the writing on the wall first-up with a terribly luckless run in the $125,000 Westspeed Platinum 3 year old feature. Finished second last beaten 4L but the run was far better than it reads on paper. Travelled throughout at the rear of the field and then when looking like she was about to wind up into the race was completely chopped out for a run and went to the line untested. Has the scalp of Beads as a 2 year old and second-up in the small field should go very close. BORDER FORCE looks the logical danger and probably opens up favourite in pre-post markets. Has done nothing wrong in two starts. Still a work in progress and clearly has a future. STORY BOOK was great down the straight. Needs to reproduce round the corner. KELLY’S LASSIE was a strong on speed return. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – FOREVER DREAMING WIN RACE 3 DALHOUSIE got to the line well on debut after encountering traffic turning for home. Once she got clear in the home straight, she ran home nicely and if Border Force wins in Race 2 (or ideally runs second to Forever Dreaming!) then that will look like strong maiden form. Again drawn wide, again going to need an ounce of luck at certain stages but with clear air she looks the one to beat. through traffic. ROMMEL’S JEUNEY had nothing go his way on debut as a 2 year old and was immediately tipped out for a spell. Recent trial was strong and with Via Monte coming out and winning last week it makes the trial look even better. AMERICAN TROOP showed raw ability in his initial preparation. Still has a lot to learn. Big lumbering type. GOD’S DREAM ran some reasonable races as a 2 year old. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – DALHOUSIE WIN RACE 4 SOVIET SPY finished off the race as well as he could considering the ridiculous early and middle stage tempo. First 1000m was run in 1:09:14. The first mile 31L (yes 31L) slower than C1 average. They absolutely walked and the race was over a long, long way out. When the battling stayers are coming home L600 in 34 seconds it’s an illustration of how slow they went early. Should settle close handy and can have slightly more firepower than the rest. IMA SLY FOX comes back into C1 grade and that should see him go close. Run two starts ago behind Black Chips in a C3 was easily strong enough to upset Soviet Spy. YULONG WALL an improver, especially with the white hot CJP aboard. HOIST THE COLOURS will keep battling. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – SOVIET SPY WIN RACE 5 PINK CARATS was plunged at his return to racing from $3 into $1.60. Punters were left with burnt fingers as he fired up against Holly Watson and ran himself into the ground. Senior rider on, blinkers off, expecting a change of tactics and him to settle midfield with cover. If he reproduces the run for Pat Carbery when splitting Vane Tempest and Secret Plan in a 3 year old 62+ at the end of last campaign then he’s the testing material. AIN’T NO OTHER MAN gives Austin Galati a big opportunity to show the racing fraternity of his abilities as a 3kg claimer in the metro area. Riding really well in the country and given a live chance by team Casey. Maps a treat and comes from stronger form lines than most. TOPPA THE MOUNTAIN looks to have come back well from his trial. SATURN BLACK will sit back and be doing her best late. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – PINK CARATS WIN RACE 6 SAVANIK chased hard fresh at 1400m. Was 53 days between runs and worked her way into the clear at the top of the straight. Just looked like she peaked on the run late in the race and with the benefit of that race she should be right in the finish here. Will settle rearward and provided there’s something to take her into the race from the 600 she should be chiming in hard late. DANI BELLA kicks through and finds the front for Jordan Turner. Loved the return to racing on a swooper’s day and if the leaders are giving a sight on Wednesday she’s a big danger. SHE’S A SWEET DEEL was only fair in her trial and only fair at her return. Drops significantly in weight. SUMMIT TRAIL should get a great run. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – SAVANIK WIN RACE 7 UNI QUEEN was the follow run of the meeting last start. She was drawn gate 1 on a day with the rail out at Ascot and a fat South Westerly blowing. The worst spot to be was three back the fence and that’s exactly where she settled. There was nowhere to go, nothing to take her into the race and no chance to get away from the inside. Shaun O’Donnell had no choice but to watch the race unfold in front of him and go to the line with an untested filly. Gets her chance to bounce back here. BANDALERA BEAU is a handy 3 year old resuming. Last time out only finished 1.5L off Black Type filly Searchin’ Roc’s. Should enjoy a sweet trip behind a spirited tempo. Definite danger. ALMAHER MAN was leading on a swooper’s paradise last start. Forgive. OUR NORMAN is a different horse under Chris Willis.
