Glenn Ingram’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on July 9, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 Good tempo. TAG THE BRIDE & EILISH set the race up early. The heavily-backed ANGEL’S FURY was prohibitive odds winning first-up at Bendigo and did so barely touched. She’s clearly the horse to beat second-up and expecting another short price for the punters. EILISH made a good debut also at Bendigo going to the front and swamped late by another impressive winner on the day. There looks to be pressure so will need to improve again. EGYPTIAN DANCER ran right up to her good jumpouts returning for her 2nd campaign and should be thereabouts again. Selections: 2,9,6,7 Suggested Bet: ANGEL’S FURY win RACE 2 LUNA CAT is easy to like she broke a long run of outs and consistent form to score at Caulfield last start coming from behind the speed and never looked like losing. Keen to stick with her aided by the 2kg claim. STEALTH OF NIGHT is a good fresh horse going to need luck from the wide alley. DOLLAR SHOT is ready to show something third-up and MARKDEL is hard to fault although the gate is tricky. Selections: 6,8,13,4 Suggested Bet: LUNA CAT win RACE 3 JENNI GONE BONKERS is fresh up and loves wet ground, the forecast is favourable, she will get back so worth monitoring the pattern. LIKE A DRIFTER has been beating up his opposition in Adelaide and deserves his chance crossing the border and its an open race for the 3YO’s. GLAM AWARD was scratched from Sandown midweek for this, good draw and in-form apprentice may look to sit closer. BEECHWORTH was a strong winner at Sale first-up in a BM62 for Waller, keeping safe. Selections: 7,1,6,13 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 4 LADY VERITY is a progressive mare and has jumped out to her usual high standard with the latest at Caulfield on the back straight. She takes on a hot field of fillies so will need to be wound up, watch betting. CAVALRY GIRL was back to her best last start and has the fitness advantage, SIGNATURE SCENT has a touch of class and ran well in the Group 2 Tobin Bronze before spelling, one quiet jumpout is the concern. MISS LOLA next best, scratched from Sandown midweek. Selections: 6,1,2,10 Suggested Bet: LADY VERITY win RACE 5 Two key chances come through the same race, AMLETO and BELLE SAVOIR, the latter a comfortable 3L victor. The speed comes from CHIEF LITTLE ROCK & HOWLIN RAIN; they should go a decent clip. BELLE SAVOIR was a promising filly and lost her way, she like her stable seem to have turned a corner and backing her to win again despite the tough gate. STOP THE ROCK was well-supported in a BM78 last start to score and goes up in grade with a 3kg claim. Some hope again. Selections: 10,12,4,6 Suggested Bet: BELLE SAVOIR each way RACE 6 DECALOGUE would’ve started a warm favourite at Flemington last week and was scratched and saved. They appear to have found the right race on paper and should take a power of beating against a moderate bunch. Best bet. Wary of the interstate visitor, ORLOVA a filly showing middle distance promise and the 2000m looks within her scope. OUR CHIEF is consistent without being a line finder, he’s sure to run well again. DIRNASEER has been placed to perfection to date, this is tough. Selections: 1,6,3,2 Suggested Bet: DECALOGUE win RACE 7 The speed is hot and that makes away for the classy mare BELLATRIX STAR to make a winning return. Plenty of jumpouts before a break and impressed winning her latest on a heavy track. MIRAVAL ROSE is a big watch if the rain stays away, she has too has impressed at the jumpouts and is good enough to be winning first-up for an astute stable. SA visitor SIR NOW is a tough and consistent gelding and deserves respect with a perfect draw. WATCHME WIN freshened, has the talent. Selections: 9,10,7,6 Suggested Bet: BELLATRIX STAR 1 x 3 RACE 8 TEN COMMANDENTS is entitled to start a clear short price fave on his two wins to date since joining the Maher camp, weighted down to 50kg and can race on-speed, provided the inside is no disadvantage he’s the one to beat. COEUR VOLANTE is back to her best form this campaign and has the class edge again, drawn to be midfield and getting last crack, looks the obvious theat. BIG SWINGER was crunched in betting at Flemington and now gets the visors on, this could be the difference for a horse that has promised much. Selections: 10,3,6,9 Suggested Bet: TEN COMMANDMENTS win RACE 9 Brutal finish to the card, quaddie punters will need bullets. 1,3,7,10 all push forward to ensure a good tempo, FIRST CHORUS is the one to beat, she maps in behind the speed, can handle all surfaces but coming up for her seventh run of the prep and could be on the way down. MAKDANE has a horrow draw to contend with, can race on speed but there’s too much pressure and likely to go back. MOMETZ will get every chance in the run carting into it, he’s been consistent all prep at this level, he’s my pick in an open affair. Selections: 12,9,4,15 Suggested Bet: MOMETZ 1 x 3 Market Market
