Scott Embry’s Sunday Narrogin Preview Posted on November 1, 2024November 1, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PEGGY’S LASS went around in a C1 on debut and finished third off the back of a few nice trials and then was thrown into a 3 year old 62+. First-up, no trial and Bruce Watkins usually comes to these meetings with horses that are ready to win. GORILLASINTHEMIST ran third behind Lifeisbutadream at Northam back in May after leading and fading late over 1000. Has speed to use from the inside gate and the recent trial was solid. G’DAY BLOKE had a few starts for Dion Luciani and was a serious handful on occasion. Has ability but wants to do plenty wrong. SCARY MARY a watch. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – PEGGY’S LASS WIN RACE 2 WINEACLOCKSUMWHERE ran well on debut behind Real Deluxe in a fast run 1000 at Northam, ran second at York split by Mai Aloha and subsequent winner Rommel’s Goddess and then went to Geraldton and was run down by a regally bred filly who heads straight to the Burgess Queen Tuesday in Western Lady. Ready to win one. SUMMER MOOD made her WA debut for Michael Lane after being balloted out a few times and wasn’t disgraced at 100-1 by Nickelplay. WRITTEN SIN showed enough at trials. HARD TO TOP wasn’t terrible behind Surfside Session. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 10 – 5 Suggested Bet – OCEAN OUTLAW WIN RACE 3 OCEAN OUTLAW toyed with them at Collie last weekend and won by the length of the straight. That will surely be a confidence boosting win for him and this C1 at Narrogin on Sunday is not that much deeper. Think he can go back to back. DODGE’EM has always promised to deliver a lot more than what he has to date on race day. FLICK THE SWITCH is lightly raced and Sam Faithfull’s go super fresh (Beautiful Baroque perfect example Thursday at Northam). SECRET STONES has his first start in WA and has to be a watch. Has pace and can lead from the inside draw. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – OCEAN OUTLAW WIN RACE 4 LUCKY HEART has returned with a narrow second at York and then a runner-up performance in the Collie Cup. Proven on the track (big plus), has versatility and has returned in great order. Bit to like. KEYTRADE has 62.5kg on his back but he hasn’t seen a race of this nature in his entire career. Out of form but has dropped a stack of points and now heads to Narrogin on a Sunday. SMOKING BARREL is a track specialist having won 3 of his 5 career races here. BLAISZEN CAZAH was only just behind Lucky Heart at Collie. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – LUCKY HEART WIN RACE 5 WORK HOME FRONT was unable to get past Gold Vancouver last start at York but with that mare winning again in a C3 1000 at Northam on Thursday the form looks good. She’s on speed, she’s tough and Cassey Martinan rides her well. Went back to trials so that Donna Riordan’s apprentice could have a ride and Donna’s entire team is going super. HE’S ARCHIE is a model of consistency and can actually sprint quite well fresh. DADIRRA ran a cheeky race in a C3 at Northam last start. INVINCIBLE POWER a watch at his WA debut but his trial suggested he might want further than this. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet – WORK HOME FRONT WIN RACE 6 PENNIES GALORE was a great find for Paul Hunter last season and the recent trial at Lark Hill reads up well now with Pretty Devine winning the last at Northam on Thursday. She’s an on speed mare, she’s capable of absorbing pressure and Jason Whiting rides Narrogin well. MIR was attacked by Cher for the entire 1200m at Collie on the sand and under the 62kg impost he did a super job to hold on for as long as he did before Rig A Dig swamped him. BLUE LINE and VONSNIP are both from the Sam Faithfull yard and it’s rare that she goes a meeting without a winner in these early season programs. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – PENNIES GALORE WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,2,3,5,6 1,3 4,6 1,2,3,4,5,7,8 Market Market
