Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on October 16, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ART ADMIRER showed glimpses when last in work including an impressive fast finishing second behind Ancient Remedy back in June, Has been freshened up by Helen Harding and Boy Hill hasn’t made the trip to the KBRC many times this season but looks to have a handy little book. This is a moderate field and he can win. NORTHWOOD has her first start for a new yard. If she could reproduce the effort which saw her run second to Startrade that would put her right in the mix. MAGIC LADY was big first-up this preparation. Gets in with no weight after the claim. MOONLIGHT EXPRESS faded badly last 200m first-up. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – ART ADMIRER WIN RACE 2 STARLAIGN has been wonderfully profitable the last few months to loyal followers. Big win two starts ago when working forward from gate 13 to breeze and fight off Magic Will Reign in the run to the post. On Kalgoorlie Cup day would have been a moral beat if he didn’t get out. Instead he saw daylight and recorded his fourth win from 6 starts in Kal. Looks another great race for him and he is in white hot form. CUBAN TWIST was a few months between runs last start and kept chasing throughout. Big improver. FINGERMARK is a capable type and wasn’t a bad run in the Hannans when strike-rate trainer John ‘Nescafe43’ Mason threw him in the deep end. RECAPITULATE and MAJOR MAMBO will run them. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – STARALIGN WIN RACE 3 HAYAN LAD was a big effort to win last start after missing the kick and nailing Bos Taurus on the post. Was a heavy leaders day and that makes the win even more impressive. From the draw Jade McNaught can box seat on the back of Watto’s Fury, who you know will take you down past the 100. ECARO gets some weight relief with Dhurun going on and looks to be hard to beat from the ideal draw. WATTO’S FURY runs a place for fun. He is the most consistent horse to have hit the region in a long while and doesn’t know how to run a bad race. MR GENOA was bitterly disappointing last start. He is better than that. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – HAYAN LAD WIN RACE 4 GREAT CHARADE has hit a seriously good patch of form. Winner four starts ago beating Magic Will Reign, winner two starts ago beating Herron San when deep the trip and then on Hannans Day was right over the top of the speed in a fairly high-pressure affair and only run down late. Gets weight relief with Keshaw Dhurun going back on and this race is his for the taking on paper. NORD AVENIR was a completely different horse first-up to second-up. If he holds form, he’s the clear danger. PASTRY wasn’t too bad fresh and should be an improver here. CAPE SOUNION was going well on the grass before being sent to Leonora to look for Paul Sortras’ stubby holder. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – GREAT CHARADE WIN RACE 5 TRAMIKA is extremely well placed by the Jayden (Justin) Thomas yard. Four starts ago was enormous when wide the trip behind Black Comet then ran split Magic Will Reign and Black Comet three starts ago. Last two have been a little bit dour but with big weight. Now gets the 2kg off with Madi Derrick and a weaker line-up than he has seen recently. Would love to see him lead and give them something to chase. GALAHS DO ROAR has no weight after the claim for Hannah Fitzgerald. Drawn to stalk and going particularly well. KENTUCKY LOVE finally showed a glimpse of her 3-year-old form. CITY STAR has promised to win a race all season. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – TRAMIKA WIN RACE 6 DALGARANGA was the find of the early season for master trainer MR Peter Fernie. Shot through the grades nicely and showed an electric turn of acceleration. Freshened up for a tilt at the last couple of meetings and might even make his way back down to Perth if he can show the same level of improvement. BEETHOVEN was a barnstorming winner first-up and then a far better run than it reads on paper second-up. CONCRETE MADAME almost ran them into the ground first-up when nailed on the post by Special Choice. PURE MAGNUS has his second start in Kalgoorlie and the polish of Cambana Lodge. Took all year but we’ve finally tipped a Fernie First 4 #allaboutfernie Numbers: 5 – 1 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – DALGARANGA WIN RACE 7 BRIGHT GLOW simply looked a different horse after a freshen up. Was only a battling maiden earlier on in the season but his run on Hannans Day was that of a horse who would be going through the grades. Sat back and with an extra stride would have won the race. Drawn to be given every chance by the King of Kal and if he can reproduce this looks a nice race for him. PROTECTED ACTION has really gone to a new level in the last few months. Needs luck from the draw but going super. HERRON SAND wasn’t a bad run last start and if the recent heat hasn’t been too draining for her she’ll go well. PRINCE OF PROMISES can jump and run from the draw. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – BRIGHT GLOW WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,4,5 1,2,3,6,7 1,3,5,6 2,5,7,9 Market Market
