Scott Embry’s Saturday Pinjarra Preview Posted on August 7, 2025August 8, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 CASTLE ROAD will divide opinions. There will be plenty who shy away from him with 61kg but it’s 1000m and he’s a Stakes winner taking on maidens. He beat the older horses in his Monday trial, he beat subsequent Karrakatta Plate placegetter and Sires Produces Stakes winner Just Too Fly by nearly 3.5L in the Perth Stakes and he’s a classy sprinter. COSMIC TREAT is on debut and heads to the races this preparation off only a 400m jump out but she’s always shown ability. DESERT LIFE was scratched from Thursday to save for this. SUNSET SESSION beat a winner in his recent trial. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – CASTLE ROAD WIN RACE 2 NOBLE CONNECTION sectionally shouldn’t have been able to reel them in last start. They ran the first 900m 6L slower than average and he was out the back last, completely unsuited. He’s flying and the new season 4 year olds have an outstanding record in Westspeed Platinum grade this time of year. Drawn a bit sticky but expecting a three deep line to build. ROCK IN WONDER is always a winning chance with his freewheeling racing pattern and shouldn’t absorb much pressure. CATCH THESE HANDS got to the line well fresh and all 8 wins are in blinkers. Important gear change. DECISION MAKER has come back bigger and better this time in. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – NOBLE CONNECTION EACHWAY RACE 3 LORD GANNICUS was beaten a nose by Famous Dain three starts ago and gets a 4kg swing in the weights to try and turn the tables. Since then he has led and won beating First Encounter and last weekend led in the 84+ Jockey Celebration Stakes when beaten under 1.5L by Sensessional. He has backed up 3 times in his life for 1 win and 2 minors and is in career best form. Great opportunity for Chanel Cooper to open her Saturday Metro Account. COOL MEMORY will need to be tough to breeze and win. FAMOUS DAIN looked the mapped horse last start and got every favour. This looks a lot trickier. SUNNY HONEY is a query at the mile? Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – LORD GANNICUS WIN RACE 4 TRUE PLAYER is the progressive stayer in the race and with the tongue tie going on maybe there’s an excuse to be made for his last start failure. Personally, still not sold on him on the wet tracks (failed first-up Soft6, failed last start Heavy8) but given the thin line-up he’s facing I’ll give him another chance. ALASKAN is racing below his best, however, he also didn’t fire a shot last preparation until he was 5th up over 2200m when running third in a 66+. Timing is right for a sharp improvement. MANZOR MAGIC was all the rage last weekend but never got into the contest and now loses Pike. LONG GENES is getting closer. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – TRUE PLAYER WIN RACE 5 SUNLIT FRESCO fits the profile of a Belmont 1000m winner. Since we’ve been back there has been 3x 1000m races and nothing has won from further back than second in running. The trend is your friend and this is a wet track proven, high speed mare who trialled super recently at Lark Hill and resumes with only 54.5kg on her back. HORCRUX maps to get the drop on the speed pair and ran well last start from that position. Looks the danger. EARTH GOD can come across from his wide gate and park up over the speed as well. MADHI GIRL does it tough with 59kg? Numbers: 10 – 6 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – SUNLIT FRESCO WIN RACE 6 SOLDANELLE was a brilliant return to racing, however, she does feel like a very risky betting proposition because she’s burnt punters a few times over the journey. The difference is though, Stef Vahala has now conceded that she doesn’t stay and she’s best ridden cold over the shorter trips. *Closes eyes and prays*. ESSENTRIC NATURE was sent out a $2.25 favourite in a 66+ that contained Want A Winner at his return to racing. Second-up he gets out to a more suitable 1400m, he drops into a 60+ Graduation. Just barrier 15/15 and where he gets to? CRUISE TO VICTORY has raced well all campaign. WHERE’S MY LUNCH would like it to pour Saturday during the meeting. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 5 – 13 Suggested Bet – SOLDANELLE WIN RACE 7 STORMCHASER returned in outstanding order first-up last campaign at 1200m and won against the pattern from the back of the field. He’s always been a horse with a blistering turn of foot on his day and think this is the campaign that he can stand up and prove himself at this level. Was only 2L off Luvnwar and Toropa last start and conceded them both weight, that form measures up. WIND AND THE LION beat the older horses in the H.G Bolton and didn’t look to handle the track conditions that well either? Super win. PETULA is building in confidence again. PULI gets conditions to suit. Numbers: 12 – 4 – 10 – 6 Suggested Bet – STORMCHASER EACHWAY Same Race Multi – Wind And The Lion (Top 2) + Stormchaser (Top 3) Wind And The Lion dropped back from 1600 to 1200m and beat the older horses in the H.G Bolton Stakes at Bunbury on a heavily rain affected track. He’s drawn barrier 1, does no work and will be hard to hold out again. Stormchaser does his best work fresh and has a booming L600 when saved up. RACE 8 WANT A WINNER travelled like the winner from start to finish last start when breezing on top of a genuine tempo and holding off the late challenge of horses who had far more economical runs than him in transit. If he marches forward into a similar stalking position following up behind King Adviso and Dirty Chai, he’ll be hard to beat again. SUPERNATURAL had her colours lowered last start in a 72+. Back in grade and will charge late if they overcook it. DESERT NYMPH is a wet track specialist. Provided it’s a Soft6 or worse she’ll run well. DIRTY CHAI has won 5 on the bounce in the country/provincial area and smashed the clock each time. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 1 – 10 Suggested Bet – WANT A WINNER EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 6,10 3,5,6,13 4,12 1,4,5,8,10,12 Market Market
