Scott Embry’s Port Hedland Preview Posted on June 20, 2024June 20, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 JUSTHANDY, OUR KIWI PRINCESS and COMPAK are all last start winners in slow time. Hard to line them all up as form reference races but going to stick with JUSTHANDY who draws the best of them in barrier 2. ARCHER COUNTY was too strong for them in a C1 1400 at Roebourne before going under at $1.50 in a C2 at Broome. Let’s Sea and Mr Confidential have both won since out of that race so while disappointing at least the form has held up. 1200 the query here. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – JUSTHANDY WIN RACE 2 ESPIRITO won by 4L last start this track and distance and most importantly had key rival Wakan Tanka well and truly covered beating him by 4.5L in the end. He actually meets Wakan Tanka better at the weights for thumping him last start and think he’ll find the front for Tash Faithfull and from there he’s the one to beat. WAKAN TANKA looks a Broome only commodity at the minute. Successfully plunged last weekend and is now 2/2 at Broome but didn’t look the same horse on either occasion at Port Hedland. AMELIA’S BELIEF is quick and will go with Espirito early. WAR WARRIOR next best. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – ESPIRITO WIN RACE 3 BLATANT DISARRAY was a late scratching on the day that Tash Faithfull took a tumble due to there being no available rider. Last start had her first run in 6 weeks and finished second behind a highly impressive Cheddar Bob at Roebourne. Should only improve off that. VIKING FOREVER is having his 19th run of the campaign but continues to knock on the door. BENFIN was a nice first dirt outing behind Bailees Pride and Viking Forever. SHE HATES me ran fourth in that same event. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – BLATANT DISARRAY WIN RACE 4 PRINSESSA ANJA finished second behind Archer County and beat home subsequent winner Rockin’ The Silks at her most recent outing. Was scratched at Roebourne on the 9th of June so comes into this almost a month between runs but provided she’s holding form and fitness should be hard to beat in this. QUILLOW wasn’t the same horse second-up as she was first-up. Hopefully she can bounce back. ELITE TIME is drawn barrier 1 which can be tricky but is going well. GALATHILION wants 1600+. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – PRINSESSA ANJA WIN RACE 5 LUCKY LANDING hurt last start. Found a 4 horse race at Roebourne after putting in an eye catching run at Broome at his first start for Timothy Pike and never looked likely at any stage. Tash Faithfull goes on here, he drops back into a C3 and he gets out to 1300m. Going to go again. JACKEMJAMES is going super and the best part about him is that he’s got the tactical sped to work his way to the top. Will keep kicking. KENTUCKY BLUE will be winning one soon and can get out further later into the season. FIRST CONTACT an improver. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – LUCKY LANDING WIN RACE 6 ZADAR ROCK looks very hard to beat here. Had his first outing for Dean Cocivera and his first start on dirt over an unsuitable 1200m and now gets immediately out to 1600m. He could a Cups Contender if he can continue to build and kept out of trouble here he should be very hard to hold out. Can park 3 deep and wind up from the 800. ZEEWIJK goes lengths better at Roebourne than anywhere else but he’s recaptured some form. AWESOME CHATTER is yet to find his feet on the dirt. KENTUCKY DREAM ran well last week at Broome. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – ZADAR ROCK WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 2,6 1,4 1,4,7 4 Market Market
