Scott Embry’s Monday Albany Preview Posted on April 23, 2021April 24, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 YOUDOYOU was a late scratching at the most recent Albany meeting and so she’ll go on top again given that at her most recent she split talented 3 year old pair Panzdown and Rain God. Panzdown goes to a Saturday race and opened favourite so we’ll get to see the formline in the flesh on the weekend. Blinkers on and should be very hard to beat. COLOUR ME SON ran some great races when last in work. Moral beaten at his last start in Geraldton. BELLE POWER got within a length of talented Great Southern 3 year old God Has Chosen on debut. TSAHEYLU is speedy. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – YOUDOYOU WIN RACE 2 SICHERN ran third on debut behind What About Moi and Paddy’s Art. She then went straight into a metro maiden and jumped a $2.60 favourite. At her third start finished behind Superlove and American Grin. Shown enough to be hard to beat here. YOYO’S may have got a little lost in front last start. Getting better with racing. ODDONEOUT is a great chance of giving Chloe Azzopardi a winner at her return to race riding. SOVIET SPY is the full to Come Play With Me and Blackwater Bay. Lots to live up to. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – SICHERN WIN RACE 3 SOME SORT has annihilated the clock at his two runs back this preparation. In review has simply gone too hard for his own good at 1200m. Back to 1100m, Willie Pike riding plenty of leaders to victory at the minute and a significant drop in grade. Now or never for him. SANTIAGO GAL should be able to stalk him from the inside gate and run a better race. POTENT SECRET is capable of carrying weight and going well. MY BLUEBOY gets in with no weight. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – SOME SORT WIN RACE 4 MATERIAL WITNESS was one of the more impressive Albany maiden winners you are likely to see at the prohibitive odds. Rarely do maidens run the fastest L800, 600, 400 & 200 of the entire meeting and then he went to town and ran into some sharp C1 rivals. More Pike show. CONVALESCE took a while to break his maiden but has some genuine raw ability. SHESAPOCKET ROCKET has been up a while but is holding form. CANDIJAY an absolute mad one for novelty players. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 12 – 9 Suggested Bet – MATERIAL WITNESS WIN RACE 5 JULIETTE looks ready to break through for the JT Warwick yard. Two starts agp finished third behind Chief Archer (ran well next start at 2100) and Treat Yo Self (won in style on Wednesday in a C3). Last start was plunged in betting and went close and now dropping back to 1600m and drawn the inside looks to get her opportunity. SUNSET CRUISE ran sixth only beaten 2.75L in a 60+ Graduation in town three starts ago. Brad Rawiller on catches the eye. DANCING JACK did a fair bit of work last start in the middle stages. COMBAT READY is a capable C2 type joining a new yard. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – JULIETTE WIN RACE 6 STARUTHORESS won a C2 at Albany, a C2 at Barker and then was beaten by the narrowest of margins in the Sky Racing Provincial Series Heat by Dark Assault. Has really found some form for Peter Western and with any luck from the draw is going well enough to win. ATHONE CASTLE and SAX ON QUE were taking late ground off talented filly Strathmore Rose last start and that looks like good form for a race of this nature. LOKI ran them ragged at his most recent. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – STARAUTHORESS WIN RACE 7 FINAL CHILL looks like he will simply stay all day. Has relished being put into his races a fair way from home and there is nobody better at judging racing than W.Pike. He will put him to sleep early and settle in the second half of the field and then at some stage cut the ribbons and get him rolling. QUEEN TAKES KING travelled brilliantly and won a 2400m race comfortably two starts ago. Brad Rawiller likely only jumps ship due to weight. Great pick up ride. FRIAR AWAY gets it soft and is in form. SAXON SAXOFF has placed in a WA Day Cup at 3200m. Big tick. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 12 Suggested Bet – FINAL CHILL WIN RACE 8 WEDNESDAY is only a C1 mare but her last two starts have been excellent in tougher races than this. Third behind Saturday duo Pletto and Bruce Almighty before running fourth to Glasgow Girl (subsequent 66+ winner), Denim Pack and Amelia’s Contraire. Needs luck from the draw but going super. CENSURE trialled much better a fortnight ago. Keep safe. AMELIE ARGOT has been racing well since joining Helen Harding and is closing in on another win. LONG KNIFE BROTHER might be the hardest horse to catch in the region, but his best is good enough. Numbers: 13 – 8 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – WEDNESDAY WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,4,5,6,7 2,3,4,6,7,9 1,2,3,4,11,12 8,13 Market Market The Black Hearts are WA’s team in The Racing League – the world’s first horse racing league.
