CANNINGTON

Race 2 No. 6 Romantic Flame

The first smokie here tonight who can do something. Two runs since arriving have been first class for her. Distance ideal and made good ground after no luck last time. Can hit the podium and follow for later on.

Race 3 No. 7 Ballistic Ant

Another well over the odds in this heat of the puppy classic. She has ability and while she is better off boxed inside, there is a stack of pace here which she will be no part of. She then works home well and any luck can see her hit the frame.

Race 4 No. 8 Spider Venom

He’s got some ability this bloke. Can track over with Custard Monelli early and if he gets around the first turn with no trouble, he becomes a major threat. Can run time and he’s strong.  Great EW show.

Race 7 No. 2 Fava Monelli

Magnificent run in the final last week. No luck and kept attacking the line. Boxed perfectly now and gets every conceivable chance. Looks the best tonight and should go very close.

Race 10 No. Block Chain

The master has him firing. This is his race with a little luck. Has been superb in a field and ultra consistent. Handles the draw and will make his move into the back where he sustains it to the line. Big top-two hope.

WENTWORTH PARK

Race 4 No. 2 Showman Jack

He’s a weapon this bloke and while his last win wasn’t overly impressive, he’s much better than that and only has to stay out of trouble to get the job done here. Can deliver massive sections when he’s on.

Race 8 No. 1 Impress Dressel

Trained by one of the best trainers to ever put a collar and lead on a dog in my opinion. The fact he’s put him in this prelude for the Egg says everything and he has form here at the track for the previous trainer. Boxed to win. Great show here.

THE MEADOWS

Race 2 No. 8 Dirt Farmer

Starting to really hit his straps lately. Ran down My Bonneville at Geelong and she is not easy to get past. Goes well here and well boxed wide in the small field. If he’s close he will be there at the end. Top-two player.

Race 3 No. 6 Wizardry Things

The monster overs of the night. His price does not remotely reflect his form even though it doesn’t look that great. Silly quote and he’s going better than it looks. All but put through the fence first turn last week and will stun these if he gets early luck. Only two divs unfortunately but he can hit the podium.

Race 4 No. 2 Indy Fido

Boxed and graded to win. Goes fast up the back and runs time. Goes well around this track and has been racing much tougher dogs than this. Will look the winner with a clear run.

Race 6 No. 4 Ariarne Bale and No. 6 Stagger Out Lee

The first group 1 for the night. The Zoom Top for the stayers. It’s open and there is a chance for an upset here. The 4 is a little under rated and while she is possibly not a genuine stayer in terms of strength, she is in great form and can surprise. The 6 however is the one at the odds. Her best form is right up to these and she is going ok right now. Keeps coming all day and will wind up strongly into the back. Can launch late. 1, 2, 7 all hopes in this but it is open.

Race 7 No. 3 Whitely Bale

She’s a huge chance here. Went 29.8 five starts back and has raced some good dogs since. Can be a little tardy early but the small field is perfect here and will charge into it at the top with any luck at all. Great top-two show.

Race 8 No. 6 Black Sail and No. 5 Amplified

The Rookie Rebel for the middle distance dogs at group 1 level. The 6 is a smokie here. He has a big motor and isn’t badly boxed here with what’s around him. If he got over cleanly he would become a huge threat. EW go for him. The 5 can surprise here. Her brilliant box manners and hard railing style means she only has to cross to the fence to then give a tremendous sight. Can run time and gets the trip no problem. Must lead to win but rarely misses the start. 5 and 6 for value this year.

Race 10 No. 8 Baby Jaycee

The Temlee for the sprinters and what a field!! More than 6 million in prize money between them. Every dog can win without surprising although the 5 looks like he will struggle. The 1, 2, 3, 4 are all weapons. All can win. Start critical for them and the first split even more so. The 6 holds the key. He goes like the wind off the mat and will charge over here putting pressure down. The 7 also steps but he doesn’t crash hard so will hold a line. It’s the 8 however who has our focus. Her run at Ballarat was incredible and her form overall is superb. Flies around here and can step quickly most days. She gets the run here if she rushes over with the pace dogs and just has to get around the 7 early. If she’s within striking distance she can win. Great price and EW go to give a sight here in the final Group 1 of the night.
