Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Tips

CANNINGTON

Race 1 No. 8 Mongolian Tiger

Slow early and a long time maiden but he did run home in 11.2 last start and could be a place heavy spec here. Will take a bit to wind up but priced to have a go to hit the frame.

Race 2 No. 5 Ballistic Ant

Resuming from a short spell and freshen and can stun these. Trialling very well and will stay clear of the early speed battle. Goes through good sections over the sprint trip and will be charging into this late. EW and place heavy.

Race 4 No. 1 Speed Freak

Sister to the previous runner who is the staying benchmark in WA right now and dropping right back for this series. Can sprint just as well though and gets her box. Should advance with little trouble and will give a huge sight if she’s close up the back.

Race 6 No. 7 Pudding Monelli

The group 2 WA Derby final. Good field and while the fav will improve again and be hard to beat, the kennel mate is ready to unleash here. Well boxed and racing with road blocks lately, he will just need a clear look up the back to not miss the frame. If he lands on this favs hammer, he will mow him down. First section important to get that spot but he is more than capable.

Race 10 No. 2 Lima Monelli

Don’t know what I’m doing giving her another go but if her and this fav in the red went one out, she would put him away easily. He is the class runner who will bounce on to the arm quickly and then it’s up to the only other dog who could run his low 42 or even sub if she wishes. A couple of wide runners will let her stay away from dogs and it’s simply a case if she wants to go up to him or not. Top 2 play at worst but she can win. If she doesn’t, then she gets the stamp..

Race 11 No. 1 Poppa Monno

A dog who used to like going around the field. Surprising record of this draw and distance ideal here. Tracks up the 2 early if he steps and will start his run up the back. Hits the frame here with an ounce of room.

Race 12 No. 4 Crypto Moneli

Had dog after dog in front of him for most the trip last week before striking trouble. Small field perfect here and will look to land much more forward. Will run time again if he gets the start right.

THE MEADOWS

Race 2 No. 2 Ricky Bobby Riot and No. 1 Shima Shadow

The 2 will step and go fast here. Has good early speed and a great record here. Can skip away up the back but would need to if this red gets clear running. Strong and promising and will be charging home. Back the 2 EW and save the 1.

Race 3 No. 4 Scofflaw

Got beat a fair way last week but his effort was superb. Made good ground late and loves racing here. Big grade drop and smaller field perfect. Looks his race.

Race 5 No. 2 Flip Your Fifty

Smokes the pipe on the fence here and starts his run up the back as he does most starts. Sustains the run to the line and shouldn’t miss the frame with clear running. Talented type who can spring the upset here.

Race 6 No. 4 Lederhosen Boy and No. 7 Haras Skipper

Final here and the 4 is way over the odds. His run was enormous last week and his overall record is ultra consistent. Can step and he has all the sections and keeps on coming. Monster show this time. The 7 has a ridiculous engine but the driver lacks commitment. If he puts in, few can stop him. Place heavy play will see close to collecting. The 4 is the main play here however. Great EW bet.

WENTWORTH PARK

Race 4 No. 7 Fat Boy’s Charm

Steps back from longer trips and goes well here over the sprint. Raced some tough stayers and well relish a slightly easier race. Will get back but can run through some sections and will be hitting the line hard.

Race 6 No. 2 Zambora Tiger

Her best wins. Has a 29.58 to her credit and is boxed to show up early and she can run solid fractions. Has gone well over longer as well so strength no issue off the arm. If she can lead here she should go all the way.

Race 7 No. 3 Ollie Impact

Super record here where he’s rarely out of the money. Winds up hard and can handle the inside boxes. Could land much closer this time and some of these will struggle to hold him out late in the race. Hard to beat this time.

Race 8 No. 2 Tommy Kade

Returned to form with a strong win last week. Came off the arm and can even go quick to find the top early. Tracks the red up at least here and will find more on the clock this week to be hard to stop for a top 2 slot. Good show.
