Trent’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 9, 2016June 13, 2016 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: PRINCI SMALLGOODS FREE RANGE BACON 3YO MS PACE CHOK CHAI (1) faced the breeze and beat a similar field comfortably last start and should lead all of the way here. HARRY HOO (8) is racing well and will be charging home from his wide draw. BETTOR MILLION (5) had a nice run in transit when a 2.7m 2nd to CHOK CHAI (1) last start and shouldn’t be far away but it is hard to see him turning the tables. JAMES COBURN (4) is an improving type and can figure in the placings. Tips: 1 8 5 4 Suggested Bet: CHOK CHAI (1) to win. Race 2: PRINCI SMALLGOODS SOPRESSA MS PACE MIGHTY FLYING THOMAS (9) is in career best form and followed his 1.55.4 all the way win over 2130m with a big win over Runonevoer in 1.55.3 for the 2536m journey. He will settle near the rear again but should be suited by the likely solid tempo. GLENLOCHAR (4) blotched his copybook with a disappointing effort last start but would be hard to beat on his previous form. AMERICAN BOY (2) and BURNING (1) were both impressive last start winners and have the barriers to offset the rise in class. Tips: 9 4 2 1 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY FLYING THOMAS (9) each way. Race 3: PRINCI SMALLGOODS FREE RANGE HAM THE LOMBARDO MARES QUALIFYING HEAT 2 HIDDEN BAD (7) is a C10 mare taking on lesser assessed rivals and be value tonight. She was beaten as a $1.30 favourite when crossed from the pole two starts back before doing things wrong at her next run but has trialled nicely since. FORMYEYESONLY (13) is the emergency but resumed from a spell with a comfortable win and will be extremely hard to beat if she gets a start from a decent draw. BAILEYS GOLD (3) couldn’t get into the race last week but can improve from this gate. UAINTSEENNOTHINYET (1) improved last start and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 7 13 3 1 Suggested Bet: HIDDEN BAD (7) each way.. Race 4: PRINCI SMALLGOODS PORCHETTA CONDITIONED HANDICAP SS PACE TWOANDAHALF TIGERS (3) extended his amazing placing sequence with a solid 2nd to OUR JERICHO (5) last week and it could be argued he would have won if the runs were reversed. He has the advantage in the draw and should give a great sight. OUR JERICHO (5) is racing extremely well and is obviously the one to beat. BETTOR OFFER (7) faced the breeze in a mobile event when a solid 4th last week and likes the stands. IM MASTER CHARLIE (1) had his chance last week but must be considered from the pole Tips: 3 5 7 1 Suggested Bet: TWOANDAHALF TIGERS (3) to win. Race 5: PRINCI SMALLGOODS FREE RANGE SALAMI MS PACE CHOCCY MAC (11) won four on end in great style at the end of his last campaign and showed versatility. He resumes here without a trial but will be hard to beat if near that form. BUNGALOW BILL (9) was in good form before a break and resumed when he did things wrong but ran on strongly for 4th in good time and must be considered despite the draw. JAMBIANI (3) was impressive at his first two starts in the state before failing at his latest run but is a definite hope. HOLY GRAIL (10) is extremely consistent and could be the value runner. Tips: 11 9 3 10 Suggested Bet: HOLY GRAIL (10) each way. Race 6: PRINCI SMALLGOODS CAPRETTO MS PACE WAYLADE (6) extended his losing sequence to ten but was far from disgraced when sitting outside Elegant Christian and running 3rd to that pacer in a slick last half. He will appreciate the staying journey and can use his strength tonight. IDEAL ALICE (2) was caught in the breeze in track record time last start but her previous three wins are good enough to run a big race here. SIMPLY SUSATIONAL (7) is absolutely flying and can overcome the draw, while JUNGLE JEWEL (1) won’t be far away from this draw. Tips: 6 2 7 1 Suggested Bet: WAYLADE (6) to win. Race 7: PRINCI SMALLGOODS PEARL CLASSIC WESLEY (1) has won five of his seven race starts and is clearly the one to beat from this draw. He sped to the front from barrier eight to win the Champagne Classic two starts back and looks the leader again tonight. IM ROCKARIA (4) raced away for a comfortable heat win and obviously has plenty of ability. ALLMIGHTYJOELOUIS (11) did all of the work in the quickest heat and must be a chance, while OUR ZAK WHITBY (6) ran on to win that race and will be charging home late. Tips: 1 4 11 6 Suggested Bet: WESLEY (1) to win. Race 8: PRINCI SMALLGOODS EST 1979 MS PACE SHIRLZ SENSATION (6) has had to overcome wide draws at his last few starts but has been hitting the line hard in quick times, including a last start 2nd to VC MANOUVRE (9) in 1.55.7. He has the barrier advantage over his mains rivals and should give a great sight. PHOENIX WARRIOR (8) has faced the breeze and recorded strong victories at his last two and is a big hope despite the draw. VC MANOUVRE (9) beat a similar field impressively last start but has drawn poorly. BIG SPOOK (5) trialled well recently and can improve. Tips: 6 8 9 5 Suggested Bet: SHIRLZ SENSATION (6) to win. Race 9: WWW.PRINCISMALLGOODS.COM.AU WESTBRED MS PACE ALFS ODYSSEY (1) has been runner up at his last three starts and gets his chance to break through tonight. He led at his last start but was run down via the sprintlane by Franco Rayner and this looks easier. IM BATMAN (3) has good gate speed and will run a big race if he can cross at the start. STRAITTOTHEHILTON (12) was a very strong 2nd last week and must be considered despite the back row draw. MASTER PLAY (10) is drawn to get a soft run and can be placed. Tips: 1 3 12 10 Suggested Bet: ALFS ODYSSEY (1) to win. Race 10: DEL BASSO SMALLGOODS EST 1957 3YO FILLIES MS PACE ARMED FORCE (9) is the best trotter in this field and should win if he does things right but has trailed the field at his last two mobiles which is a major concern. CHAR MING (8) has plenty of ability but also possesses poor manners so has to be taken on trust. INVASIVE (7) and ENJOY A COLDIE (6) are reliable trotters who are racing consistently and are winning hopes if the other two do make mistakes. Tips: 9 8 7 6 Suggested Bet: ARMED FORCE (9) to win.
