Darren Clayton’s Albion Park Preview Posted on February 4, 2022February 4, 2022 | Posted by Darren Clayton RACE 1 IT AINT THE MONEY (5) might be the one in a tricky race to open the card where the map looks tough to dissect. Super on the sectional clock in recent starts, finding position cheaply will be key. MAJOR GENERALJUJON (1) finally lands a fence alley and that can be catalyst for a return to winning form. Wide last week was not the ideal place to be chasing and the cosy trip looks ideal. BELLA BALL TERROR (4) gets into this grade for the first time and comes into this after his last start when deserted by luck. MAYWYNS COURAGE (7) is also back into this grade for the first time and despite the car park, his form is up to challenging. SELECTIONS: 5-1-4-7 SUGGESTED BET: IT AINT THE MONEY (5) to win RACE 2 THE IRISH EAGLE (1) will be looking to replicate a dominant mid-week win off a three-day back-up following a slick victory when keeping them rolling at Redcliffe on Wednesday in sharp time. ANOTHER STATEMENT (8) should be stalking the speed here if the Eagle can dictate. Close to the smart Big Wheels last start, he will be ready to strike. TEDDY FEELS GOOD (5) was game last start behind the flying Three In Heaven and with added fitness following two runs back can feature. THE GENERAL (10) is hit and miss and following a hit two starts back was a miss last time. SELECTIONS: 1-8-5-10 SUGGESTED BET: THE IRISH EAGLE (1) to win RACE 3 LE TISSIER (1) can secure the ideal trip in behind the speed here with a genuine tempo ensuing. A winner in 4 of his 5 attempts over the 2138m here at The Creek, he has the form and pattern to pounce. CHASING THE WIND (2) caught the eye last start when hitting the line in nice style to be just behind the placings, with an improved alley helping his cause. ROCK BOTTOM (5) caused a huge boilover when defeating Manila Playboy last start after a cosy trip. His previous runs did suggest he was not far off a win. THE ANNOUNCER (3) has the early speed to take control here, his last start just throwing a nagging query if he is up to this. SELECTIONS: 1-2-5-3 SUGGESTED BET: LE TISSIER (1) to win RACE 4 BLACKSADANCE (4) will be much better served with a return to the front line after his past three have been when behind a helmet not the mobile arm. Four starts back he carved out a sub 51 mile from the front which is enough to take this. GOVEROR JUJON (7) was too classy last week leading all the way with some electric closing panels in front. The gate has put a big dent in his plans. SPEECH IS SILVER (10) had the closing power to arrive last week and will be ready to swoop on them again. DEUS EX (6) was mighty brave last week when sitting parked and still had the temerity to hold 2nd placing when only 3m from Governor Jujon. SELECTIONS: 4-7-10-6 SUGGESTED BET: BLACKSADANCE (4) to win RACE 5 SHEZ GOT BLING (1) has the hoof well and truly on the ‘till after finishing in 2nd at her past four in succession and looks to have found the ideal conditions to match her pattern of taking one closing run. GOALKICKER (2) is a gate speed mare that can fire off the arm to take control and was only beaten a head two starts back when leading. GIRL FROM OZ (6) is the class runner of the field and was a strong winner from this gate two starts back. Despite the gate she looms large. DANCE IN THE SUN (8) will be chasing here which might be what is needed to turn around her campaign. SELECTIONS: 1-2-6-8 SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 1-2-6-8 RACE 6 MAJOR FERNCO (4) is going much better than his figure form suggests highlighted by the fact he was never in the frame last week but still broke 55 and 27 for his 800/400 splits. He finds the right conditions here. OHOKA CHOPPER (5) has the versatility and the early speed to put himself in the contest and after a 3rd to Governor Jujon last week, looms large in this grade. SUBTLE DELIGHT (9) was only a nose off the win here last week after charging home and just needs the right trail to feature. SCOOB OPERATOR (6) was game after doing it the tough way last start but faces a tricky gate once again. SELECTIONS: 4-5-9-6 SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR FERNCO (4) to win RACE 7 HEAVENLY WISDOM (4) should have the early hustle to find the front here and strikes a winnable mares contest after placing in 3 of her previous 4 starts. A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (10) was never in the hunt last start after retreating from gate 5. A return to mares’ grade is a big plus. SMOKE MY MOTOR (5) is only lightly raced and has just the two career wins. Her last start suggests she is in the mix. MISS MIA (8) has been a model of consistency and backs up off a passing lane win here on Tuesday. SELECTIONS: 4-10-5-8 SUGGESTED BET: HEAVENLY WISDOM (4) to win RACE 8 GOLIGHTLY (1) was four back along the poles last week following the eventual winner but just took a little longer to find open space. He looks to have found the ideal conditions and has all the options. HY VOLTAGE (2) arrives in Qld to join the Dwyer stable at his first 4YO appearance. Setting a sizzling tempo last start at Wagga before being gunned down, he has the class. JUDDY DOUGLAS (9) is better suited in front but can follow through at the start to settle handy. LIFES BLACK (8) will be locked away against the inside and that could be the right place to be if the speed is on. SELECTIONS: 1-2-9-8 SUGGESTED BET: GOLIGHTLY (1) to win RACE 9 MISDEMEANOR (1) loves it in front, with 9 of her 12 career wins coming when she is lighting the lamps. Taking them all the way last start in her first Qld appearance, the gate sets it up for a repeat performance. SWEET JEMMA (3) was sent around them early last week and proved too strong in front and should appreciate the improved alley here. AMERICAN FLYER (8) overcame the outside front line to score two starts back and will be stalking the speed every step ready to strike. FOND MEMORIES (5) has been beaten the same margin by the Sydney bound Voodoo Lou at her past two starts and is in the mix. SELECTIONS: 1-3-8-5 SUGGESTED BET: MISDEMEANOR (1) to win, trifecta 1 / 3-5-8 RACE 10 JUSTABITNOISY (1) has not tasted victory for some time but might just have found the drought breaking conditions. 2nd to Sir Fahrenheit last week, the front tape is a nice advantage. TAM OSHANTER (3) takes the step up against the FFA performers off the back of five successive midweek victories where he has led, with four of those off handicaps. DOUG (7) ended his own chances last week when jumping it off in the run and needs to overcome the 40m impost. GARLAND GREENE (6) also beat himself last time but his win two starts back was a nice effort. SELECTIONS: 1-3-7-6 SUGGESTED BET: JUSTABITNOISY (1) to win Market Market
