RACE 1

Moderate maiden in terms of quality. MEHSUN switches states to Melbourne and has been jumping out well for the Waller stable, strong winning chance if he can overcome a sticky inside draw. Maher stablemates MELBOURNE BOY and SCAROLE should be near the speed, the latter is hard fit from recent racing and will give a sight. SAINT FOX disappointed last time when firm in the market after a good debut, rise in trip and firmer ground can improve. COSMIC COMMAND a rough hope for Top 4 chances.

RACE 2

Can see NAINA settling closer to the speed with Logan Bates dropping back in class and will need to risk or risk being buried, with even luck she’s hard to beat. EN FLIQUE is going to be in front of her and has been jumping out like she can be competiitve fresh for the inform Brisbourne stable. TWISTED LOVE hit the line nicely fresh up, will need the speed and pattern in her favour to threaten again. OF THE VIEW looks the leader and may get it without any pressure.

RACE 3

Tricky mix of unraced debutants and exposed form and very little pace expected from either. Fortune may favour the brave, SOUND SYSTEM resumes for the Warren stable and their horses are running extremely well at present, she looks forward to be winning a wide-open race from VALAROSO another first-up with Alderson and Bates riding off the inside, he has speed and may prove too quick. Respect the Maher pair but need a market push on what they’ve shown to date.

RACE 4

Good race! Like what HANDEE, SWIFT STAR and SISTERLY have been showing at the jumpouts. HANDEE gets Ben Melham and a good draw, jumpouts have been impressive. SWIFT STAR is on debut and a big watch in betting for Kennewell’s yard, Mark Zahra carries through from jumpouts to race day. SISTERLY also showing promise for Grahame Begg. ZOO DAZZLER is first emergency and sure to be a player if he gains a start coming down from Sydney for A & S Freedman.

RACE 5

SLANE is on the improve after a poor showing here fresh, led them up at Sandown last start and out-sprinted staying to the inferior ground. Like him at this track when he can find the front and should get the opportunity without any pressure from the wide draw. Best roughie on the card. KILLENAULE comes through the right races to figure and well-placed in this event, won’t be too far off the lead with young apprentice Johnstone steering. TALKIN STERN is thereabouts with winning form and respect the chances SHANONI third-up ready to show up.

RACE 6

CASTELLAR caught the eye winning a recent Pakenham jumpout, three weeks between his previous, I suspect he’s forward enough to be winning a low race for the 3YO’s and has an affinity with this circuit. To beat CABRIOLE who is sure to be strongly supported off two solid jumpouts and the right to form to be winning. Has won at 1000m but may find Castellar too slick. LA ASTRO CHAT draws to figure in the finish and throwing in JENNYANYDOTS for the multiples on her best form.

RACE 7

IN’KANTOSSTAR impressed winning fresh and then looked in trouble second-up at Geelong before pulling away late, he’s progressive and with added fitness should be near peak in a very winnable race. Best of the day. KATSUMI OROCHI chased him home at Geelong, drawn the pole, needs more intent to be competitive let alone overturning. BARKING MAD has jumped out between runs since arriving from Sydney, expect a bold showing if he can overcome a nasty draw. CROWN CRUSHER was poor last time, go on fresh effort and he’s in the mix for minors.

RACE 8

Tough finish, many hopes, wide in the quaddie. HAPPY LINK is bursting to win a race and only needs a dry track to figure, has come up with the worst possible draw so now requires the speed on which is likely especially if ELECTRIC ELVIS goes forward, took a sit at Bendigo at a short quote and paid the price. Stablemate PRIMAL SPIRIT will also take a forward spot and so too IMMORTAL TRIUMPH who is flying at present. BARDIA’S DREAM is in form and fares best on the speed map, LOUD CHARLIE also among the winning hopes.
