Really could go either way, slight leaning to OSIPENKO, his closing effort in the Caulfield Guineas last spring gives me hope he will see it out ok. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet: Box up OSIPENKO & PERICLES in exotics RACE 2 Wide gate for SUPER EXTREME however with a bit of J. Mac magic he can get away with this race holding the best form. Twice a winner here in this company he’s going into the race off a 2-month break, he won here having had a month or so between runs recently & his recent Scone trial placing will have him ready for this. BARRADAS draws & maps well, fitter also. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 15 – 7 Suggested Bet: SUPER EXTREME EACH-WAY RACE 3 FLOATING is all the rage for this race, in my opinion he’s got to a very short price, definitely unders. As a result MISS EINSTEIN is now overs! She’s knocking on the door to break through having run on very well last start aided by the solid tempo set up front, what she needed was a little further which she gets today & with the claim will carry no more weight. No knock on FLOATING bar the odds-on offer. Be very surprised if the winner didn’t come from that duo. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 18 – 14 Suggested Bet: MISS EINSTEIN EACH-WAY RACE 4 MAGIC TIME is a very promising filly who made it 3 from 3 when easily accounting for OPAL RIDGE on day one of The Championships here. I’m a wrap for OPAL RIDGE however she just had no answer & here they are meeting again with MAGIC TIME now fitter & just impossible to tip against. OLENTIA had wraps on her after her debut win, solid enough since she’s good however not up to the other two here. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet: MAGIC TIME TO WIN RACE 5 Going rough here putting KEY LAGO on top at decent odds. He comes out of a couple of very strong races his last couple when not far away, held up in the Group 1 Galaxy last start he finished on the heels of the likes of Mariamia, Giga Kick, Asfoora & co. Prior to that he wasn’t far off Passive Aggressive in the Group 2 Challenge. VILANA is a class act resuming with very good first up stats, in fact all his stats are good! Clearly the one they all have to beat. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet: KEY LARGO EACH-WAY (small) RACE 6 Tricky race. PROTAGONIST was never a hope in the Doncaster dropping back to the mile, much better placed in this however a track on the worse side of slow is a concern. I’ll go with the double figure priced PINK IVORY who has done nothing at all wrong this prep. Kept on the fresh side since the last run she has trialled keeping her fitness levels up. SUNSHINE RISING the other main chance. Numbers: 14 – 4 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet: PINK IVORY EACH-WAY (small) RACE 7 Cannot see any way in the world DON CORLEONE can turn the tables on MILITARIZE from their meeting in the Sires a fortnight back. MILITARIZE was just dominant powering away & will relish the step up in trip being by Dundeel. MAKE A CALL backs up from last week when going down narrowly, rates a place chance as does the horse who beat him, TOM KITTEN. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet: MILITARIZE TO WIN RACE 8 Cracker of a race The All Aged which sees the return of ZAAKI who will prove hard to beat fresh, he’s certainly trialled well enough. Although unproven out to 1400m I’m sticking with GIGA KICK who doesn’t give any indication he won’t run it out strongly & it did take a good one to beat him last time. MAZU ran well in the T.J. Smith aided by the wet conditions, the damper it is the better his chances. Certainly leaving ZAAKI in there as well. Numbers: 12 – 1 – 5 – 11 Suggested Bet: GIGA KICK TO WIN (small bet) RACE 9 Real ‘throw at the stumps’ here with CUBAN ROYALE who was good last start behind Bandersnatch in a race not run to suit. He meets a number of rivals who went around in that race where he was the only one to make ground against the tempo. TAMERLANE is flying, up in grade, down in weight gets in well with the claim for Zac Lloyd. COTEHELE can run a race fresh. Numbers: 7 – 12 – 6 – 16 Suggested Bet: CUBAN ROYALE EACH-WAY (small) RACE 10 DEMOCRACY MANIFEST resumes with a very good fresh record having won 3 of his 4 attempts. His trials have been only average however if solid in the market I’ll lean his way. SUBSTANTIAL wasn’t suited by the race tempo at Rosehill, kept fresh however back to 1200m, not sure that’s a positive? HELLFEST can run well fresh off a good alley. MAOTI very hard to catch. Numbers: 9 – 11 – 12 – 1 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics Market Market
