Chris Nelson’s Doomben Best Bets Posted on June 19, 2020 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 2 No.3 Hold The Line Just busting to win a race having been held up badly here last start in the Hinkler behind Scallopini. Buried away on the inside on that occasion she was unable to gain a clear crack at the opposition in the straight going to the line untested. First up she again didn’t have the clearest path early in the straight before weaving home into 2nd spot. Tomorrow looks her day! RACE 6 No.7 Maozi Team Edmonds trained filly who is going great guns at the Gold Coast of late with a fast finishing win there two back before beating all bar the very smart Command ‘n’ Conquer same track last start. From the awkward gate she’ll again settle back which is her normal pattern anyway however with clear running for Robbie Fradd in the straight will be rounding up the leaders. RACE 9 No.6 Pennino Very consistent mare who was very heavily backed when a first up winner at the Sunshine Coast in Listed company. Nothing panned out at all for her at Eagle Farm last start suggesting we put the pen well and truly through that run. She tends to settle closer when drawn well which is the case tomorrow, hopefully close enough to strike in the straight! Quaddie 11, 13 3, 4, 5, 6 1, 3, 4 6, 12 Market Market
