EURO 2016 – Portugal v Austria Posted on June 17, 2016June 20, 2016 | Posted by Sportsbettingmax.com Parc de Princes – Sunday 19th June, 3AM AWST Recent Form Portugal 1 v Iceland 1 Austria 0 v Hungary 2 Match Overview The final game of the second round of Group matches concludes with this Group F clash with both teams surprisingly searching for their first wins of the Tournament. Historically they have not met since 1995 (1-1). Unexpectedly they have met 10 times with 5 draws and 3 wins to Austria. Portugal appeared to be in control of their opening game against Iceland after Nani scored in the first half but after a lot of possession and control of movement, Portugal could not find the second goal and it was left to Iceland through Bjarnason to score the equalizer which left Portugal stranded with a draw and the world top player Ronaldo making a fool of himself with sulking post game comments. It was worse for Austria who were short priced favourites to defeat Hungary in their first match. Austrian coach Marcel Koller admits his side never took their chances which they had more than Hungary but their opponents were more clinical when it mattered and came away with the three points. “How we react to that defeat is what is important. We have to forget about it and play our best football or otherwise we will be going home early.” Koller said. Austria will be without suspended defender Aleksandar Dragovic who was sent off against Hungary. Portugal need to take their chances which were set up by some splendid midfield work from Andre Gomes and if they can find the connection between midfield and forwards they should win. Portugal to win in a low scoring match. Player Watch When you open your mouth like Ronaldo has, you have to back it up with actions. He would know the footballing media world have their daggers drawn and are ready for a big slice of him. Stick with the champ to score for Portugal.
