Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 17, 2016June 20, 2016 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: QUAYSIDE TRANSPORT MS PACE CHOK CHAI (1) has won four of his six race starts including a dominant 1.54.0 victory from the breeze and an easy all the way from this barrier last week. This assignment looks slightly harder but he is clearly the one to beat. KIWI LEGEND (9) resumes from a spell after finishing 2nd to Beaudiene Boaz in the Golden Nugget and is the main danger but has a tough draw to overcome. STRAITTOTHEHILTON (10) should get a lovely run and can be placed, while IM BATMAN (3) over raced when tailing off last week but can improve. Tips: 1 9 10 3 Suggested Bet: CHOK CHAI (1) to win. Race 2: CASH CONVERTERS WESTBRED MS PACE CYCLONE MITCH (9) took his losing sequence to 15 when he sat at the rear and made up some ground to finish 7th to Royal Mach at his last start. He can be put into the race early tonight and will appreciate the drop in the class. PAID TWICE (1) goes up in class on her last start win but the time was very solid and she has the pole. TOMMY BE GOOD (8) has won three of his last four and can overcome the wide draw. TARSAO (3) resumes after an eight month break and warmed up for this with a solid Byford trial win. Tips: 9 1 8 3 Suggested Bet: CYCLONE MITCH (9) each way. Race 3: R H TROTTER & CO 2YO WESTSIRED FILLIES MS PACE SARAH GOODY (2) has won once and been placed twice in her five starts. She led throughout four runs back and her 2nd to Maczaffair two starts ago is a good form guide for this event. SWEET GINA (6) is on debut but has impressed in her recent Byford trials and must be considered. MISS TWIGGY WHITBY (4) is the most experienced filly in the event and shouldn’t be far away. ALLAMERICAN QUEEN (1) was placed on debut and could be a big improver from the pole. Tips: 2 6 1 4 Suggested Bet: SARAH GOODY (2) to win. Race 4: HOMESTYLE SALAD MAKERS DISCRETIONARY HANDICAP SS PACE IMPORTER EXPORTER (2) is absolutely flying with five wins from his last six starts with the defeat coming at the hands of Norvic Nightowl. He flies the tapes and has been leading throughout and that scenario looks extremely likely again. PELUSIAC (5) has been untractable in the past but has won three of his last four, all from the stand, and looks up to the rise in class. CHANGE GEAR (11) beat a field that was probably stronger than this last week and can repeat the dose with a similar run. NAUGHTY MARAVU (1) has been disappointing but is too good to overlook. Tips: 2 5 11 1 Suggested Bet: IMPORTER EXPORTER (2) to win. Race 5: KARRI FORREST MOTEL MS PACE BURNING (1) has made the most of good barriers at his last two to lead throughout and defeat TRICKY STYX (9) before dead-heating with American Boy last week. He should lead again and will give a great sight. TRICKY STYX (9) was gallant first up when she ran on from the rear and just missed. The larger field doesn’t aid her cause but a faster tempo will help. GLENLOCHAR (4) faced the breeze and was a close 3rd to BURNING (1) last start and must be considered. JASON RULZ (8) resumes after a 4th in the WA Pacing Cup but is drawn wide and can’t make his own luck. Tips: 1 9 4 8 Suggested Bet: BURNING (1) each way. Race 6: GLOUCESTER MOTEL & RESTAURANT 2YO WESTSIRED COLTS AND GELDINGS MS PACE SERGEANT OATS (9) broke through at his 7th start when he led throughout before really impressing when he beat a smart field in 1.56.8 at Bunbury. He is drawn wide but is the class runner and looks hard to beat. ITZ DYNAMO (7) has encountered his share of bad luck in his four race starts but still has a win and placing and looks a promising type. BOB WHEEL (4) improved greatly at his last start when running on to finish 3rd at big odds. IM ENTITLED (5) was tailed off on debut but had trialled nicely before that and could be an improver. Tips: 9 7 4 5 Suggested Bet: SERGEANT OATS (9) to win. Race 7: RSM AUSTRALIA FREMANTLE PACE BILLIES A STAR (1) has disappointed backers this time in but his form is better than it reads on paper and could be big improver. He did things wrong at the start before making up plenty of ground last start and will run a big race if he can hold up tonight. WAYLADE (6) extended his losing sequence to 11 when 2nd to Ideal Alice last start but his efforts have been sound. ELEGANT CHRISTIAN (9) has beaten most of these recently but has to overcome the widest draw tonight. CLASSIC AMERICAN (10) resumes from a spell but loves a soft trip and could be dangerous. Tips: 1 6 9 10 Suggested Bet: BILLIES A STAR (1) each way. Race 8: ACTON REAL ESTATE THE LOMBARDO MARES QUALIFYING HEAT 3 FORMYEYESONLY (1) resumed from a spell with a comfortable all the way win before knocking up after facing the breeze in stronger company. She looks extremely hard to beat back to mares’ company with the aid of a perfect draw. DONEGAL KAHLUM (9) is awkwardly drawn but has class her on side and will be steaming home if they run along. TYPHOON TAN (10) and HIDDEN BAD (2) are both drawn to get nice runs in transit and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 1 9 10 2 Suggested Bet: FORMYEYESONLY (1) to win. Race 9: AUSTRALIAN MARINE COMPLEX MS PACE AMERICAN BOY (9) has won six of his seven starts this campaign including a last start dead-heat with Burning when they went 1.55.8 for the 2130m. He is drawn wider over the sprint trip but this is a drop in class and he is the one to beat. ANOTHER AYJAY (1) disappointed last start but would be a huge chance out in front on his previous form. HOLY GRAIL (8) ran his 9th placing in a row when 3rd last week and will be running on again. SKY ART (10) has won his last two in style but the draw makes it harder. Tips: 9 1 8 10 Suggested Bet: AMERICAN BOY (9) to win. Race 10: TEAM TROLIO HARCOURTS SPEARWOOD 3YO FILLIES MS PACE DODOLICIOUS (8) has clearly announced herself as the state’s best filly. She resumes here from a short break without a trial and is drawn wide but is still clearly the one to beat. SHEER ROCKNROLL (1) has finished 8th and 4th behind DODOLICIOUS (8) at her last two starts but a good recent Byford trial win and the barrier advantage gives her a winning hope. THE SPINSTER (7) has won her last two is capable of running quick times in front but she would have to lead to cause an upset. SHES ARTFUL (2) is first up in WA but has a solid NZ record. Tips: 8 1 7 2 Suggested Bet: SHEER ROCKNROLL (1) each way. Bet Now
