Warren Huntly’s Tuesday Caulfield Preview Posted on December 24, 2023December 24, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 BOLD SOUL was probably looking for further last start and gives the impression he will relish 1800m. ANGEL DOWN comes through the same race and will give a sight. GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS is still a maiden but hit the line strongly on debut and looks suited stepping up in distance. THIN RED LINE has been jumping out well. Selections: 1,6,9,5 Suggested Bet: Bold Soul to win Race 2 RUNNING ON TIME was luckless when well supported first up and maps for a good run. VAGRANT worked home strongly first up and has jumped out well between runs. SISTINE EXPLORER has also jumped out nicely between runs and can make her own luck. SHE’S PRETTY RICH will strip fitter and any rain would enhance her chances. BOTANY is capable first up if forward enough. Selections: 7,10,8,11 Suggested Bet: Running On Time to win Race 3 EXPLOSIVE THINKER resumed with a solid win as a gelding and will strip fitter. SON OF SOLLY may need some luck from the draw but has jumped out well to resume. BUBBLY LASS has been kept fresh and was back to something like her best last start. VALOIS and EL SOLEADO have claims. Selections: 4,3,10,11 Suggested Bet: Explosive Thinker to win Race 4 PLENTY OF AMMO looks destined for much better races and has the tactical speed to overcome the wide draw. MISTER ME will make his own luck and drops in grade. LAUDING will strip fitter and appreciate the rise in distance. TOFF CHOICE won ok last time and any rain would be of benefit to his chances. Selections: 6,1,10,4 Suggested Bet: Plenty Of Ammo to win Race 5 MRS CHRISSIE has jumped out well to resume and boasts a strong first up record. MASTER MONTARO is an intriguing runner returning from Hong Kong. His best is clearly good enough and he’s been given some solid jumpouts to resume. ALL ABOUT EVE was below her best first up but is capable of much better. SILVER WAVES had plenty of excuses after knuckling at the start, then found trouble first up. GAZE GRISE and PLUS FOURS are in the mix. Selections: 13,3,11,15 Suggested Bet: Mrs Chrissie to win Race 6 KEATS seems to handle most track conditions and looks set to control the tempo. ZENZELLA worked home well first up and will appreciate the extra distance. AIN’TNODEELDUN has now had a decent gap between runs due to wet tracks but has claims if he takes his place. JUNIPAL wasn’t far away from Keats last start so has obvious claims. Selections: 4,6,2,3 Suggested Bet: Numbers 4,6,2 & 3 for the quaddie Race 7 MIDWEST will make his own luck. He was no match for Taunting last start but that form has held up well. ROSE QUARTZ probably had the bias in her favour last start and doesn’t want too much rain but maps for a great run. SGHIRIPPA and CURRAN both chased well in the same race last start and Sghirippa may settle closer from a low draw. THE ASTROLOGIST has plenty of weight but has been jumping out well. NAJEM SUHIAL has claims if he can translate his stright form to Caulfield. YONCE may be the most talented horse in the field and the market late should be the best guide to her chances. Selections: 7,4,12,6 Suggested Bet: Midwest each way Race 8 LOUNGE BAR RUBI may have found it too wet at Ballarat and should be close to his peak. RIVERPLATE generallly fres first up and has been jumping out well. BRITISH COLUMBIA looked to jump out quite well behind Riverplate. TORONTO TERRIER is fit and in form. FIRST MATE and SO RISQUE have claims. Selections: 7,8,4,9 Suggested Bet: Lounge Bar Rubi each way Market Market
