RACE 1 

Team Hayes hold the key with two debutants relatively unexposed at the jumpouts. Booking of Zahra on ALPINE POINT is significant, he generally gets the pick of the juveniles. AMBER SMILE has done plenty of work to be ready, latest jumpout on Pak synthetic, looks a pure 1000m horse. CENTENARY FLORIN ran well in town after a dominant maiden win over the carnival, should lead this field. Zoustar colt STELLAR CIPHER resumes for 2nd prep and has Williams aboard, wide gate makes it tricky.

RACE 2

BLUE SHIELD must be the starting point in the race, brave on-speed at Seymour making his debut at 1300m, bumped into a smart winner. If MISSION LOVE takes her place in this field she is a huge threat despite the wide draw. She’s jumped out well to resume but she did that last campaign too. FOXSKY is one of the better maidens around and has good speed to go forward. DUPEROUZEL creates interest on debut, jumpouts no guide.

RACE 3

Course specialist HARMONETT finds a race to be competitive kicking up the fence from the inside, the other local chance is NEXT STOP IOWA solid on-speed win fresh at Pakenham, this is harder and wide draw to contend with. Ditto CAVALRY GIRL drawn the car park, down in class if she can produce her best with luck in running. KILLIANA will have admirers she is weak at the end of her races,

RACE 4

Local BOLD SUITOR is a flying machine for the Noonan’s, trial winner leading in and should take catching from a soft draw. SATIN DIVA is kicking up to be close to the speed, she has the boom apprentice aboard for C Maher and best runs come early in the campaign. WAZING has been strongly supported in each of his two runs to date, a win is near. MAD ABOUT MAGNUS is progressive, bad gate.

RACE 5

STAGE N SCREEN is well-placed first-up for the Walker stable, she has improved her barrier manners and jumped out well. RICH DOTTIE was heavily backed and disappointed first-up at Caulfield just couldn’t get near the speedy winner, could improve second run for the prep. Local DELICATE LADY is in the mix, solid effort in a similar race last start, third-up should be peaking. ROYAL LASS charging late.

RACE 6

THE DEVIL IN HER will be doing the rain dance, she was impressive at the jumpouts and again first-up unlucky not to finish closer or win, if rain on the day the horse to beat despite a poor second-up record. ANT is a winning chance at Flemington on Saturday, if they bypass there she looms as a threat. PRINCING is third-up won with this profile previously and has the ace draw. BERLEMONT has to get around the tight circuit but is fit and ready to run.

Suggested Bet: THE DEVIL IN HER win

RACE 7

If it’s wet MY ROCA FELLA can make the hat-trick of wins. Defied a big market drift at Pakenham at 2000m and this no stronger. OAK BEACH was scratched from a winnable race at Sandown mid-week, she’s at her right distance range but has drawn awkward. ALMAIRAC is down in class and well-placed on the home track, AMLETO poor strike rate, always competitive.

RACE 8

Hardest race of the day, going wide in the quaddie. Giving FLYING VALLEY a big shout first-up if the predicted rain arrives on the day, he’s a superior wet tracker and has jumped out well for the Ciaron Maher stable. Matt Laurie’s BLETHYN enjoys a drop in grade, wide barrier is tricky, BRANDJAM is super consistent racing in great heart. REGAL MIGHT can give a sight on speed.
