Warren Huntly’s Saturday Moonee Valley Preview Posted on January 27, 2023January 27, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 SWORDS DRAWN has been building to a win since joining the Moroney stable and looks well placed with the claim for an in-form apprentice. His stablemate SOUND comes through the strongest form lines and also gets in quite well with the claim. SOUS LES NUAGES is racing consistently and gets winkers first time. PRINCESS RHAENYS is on trial this trip but was well ridden to win an easier race in good style last start. Selections: 2,1,7,5 Suggested Bet: Swords Drawn to win Race 2 FIGHTING ARROW was held up at a crucial stage last time but he usually hits a ‘flat spot’ and brings about a lot of his own bad luck. Shinn sticking is a positive. ACCUSE is racing in good form and shaping as though 2040m will suit at this stage of the preparation. MATRON BULLWINKEL endured a tough run when well supported last start, not surprised she’s had time to get over that. COMMANDO DRIFT, HARD SQUEEZE and BLACK QUEEN have claims. Selections: 6,5,8,14 Suggested Bet: Fighting Arrow each way Race 3 DANE ON TOUR is racing in good form, she goes well for Ollie and hit the line strongly at her only start here. BALLYNORA has been freshened and likes The Valley circuit. TUBBY TWO TRACKS may control the speed and brings solid SA form. STRAWBERRY MOON will be part of the speed and is winning easier races in good style. ELECTRIC BELLE will be strong late. Selections: 6,4,2,1 Suggested Bet: Dane On Tour each way Race 4 CLARITY is a winner here, she had excuses at stakes level at her latest run and has jumped out well to resume. COMMAND APPROVED has looked strong on speed in his recent NSW wins. CAPITAL THEATRE will be charging late. BISTRO will give a sight on speed. Selections: 6,4,7,3 Suggested Bet: Small bet Clarity to win Race 5 TYCOON HUMMA hasn’t quite lived up to her early promise but is jumping out well to resume and appears to strike a suitable race. JEAN VALJEAN is racing well in SA and has been kept up to the mark winning a trial between runs. MAMARAGAN has some strong form lines behind him earlier in his career, he resumes for the new stable and hasn’t been tested in recent jumpouts. BIFROST backs up quickly after blowing the start last week. Selections: 8,2,7,6 Suggested Bet: Tycoon Humma each way Race 6 LUNA CAT has been trialling well prior to her eye-catching first up run and looks suited by the rise in trip. QURAYSHA gets around The Valley well and has been right there in similar races of late. DANNY’S ST DARCI showed good fight to win at Warrnambool and that form has held up since. LADY HAMPTON goes well fresh and has jumped out nicely between runs. LITTLE MISS KUBI gets a tongue tie on and is in the mix with DEFIANT DIVA. Selections: 6,2,1,8 Suggested Bet: Luna Cat each way Race 7 JIGSAW and SNAPPER are the fit, in-form sprinters and they look to control the race. CALYPSO REIGN has trialled nicely and should get a trail behind the speed. Couldn’t find a trial or jumpout for TURAATH but she’s up to these if she’s ready. IRONCLAD and WESTERN EMPIRE will be strong late. Selections: 5,6,7,8 Suggested Bet: Jigsaw to win Race 8 Even contest. EXETER covered ground and chased well behind an in-form galloper last week. MAGNUM BULLET is racing in great form and gets a slight drop in grade. KENTUCKY CASANOVA will strip fitter and may settle better with winkers off. SOREL RISING has been back to the trials/jumpouts on two occasions since his encouraging first up run. KALIUWAA FALLS may be looking for further but worked home well first up and the slight rise in trip is a positive. Selections: 4,3,5,13 Suggested Bet: Exeter each way Race 9 WORSFOLD is racing in great form since joining the Nick Ryan stable and loos the one to beat again. MONARCH OF EGYPT tested Worsfold last start, he might need some luck from the draw but will strip fitter third up. ALVERDUN hit the line well first up and is a previous second up winner. VICTORY BAY is fit and consistent. SHOVE OVER is racing in career best form as is NETANYAHU. Selections: 4,6,13,12 Suggested Bet: Worsfold to win Market Market
