Warren Huntly’s Saturday Moonee Valley Preview Posted on January 26, 2024January 26, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 ACID WASH had run well in strong maidens leading into dominant win last start and looks hard to beat. MAWHERA worked strongly through the line to break his maiden and should relish 1500m. COGNAC IN MINE was heavily backed to win on debut and will make her own luck. CRACKLE ‘N’ BURN is one of a few other last start maiden winners that have a case. Selections: 1,5,7,3 Suggested Bet: Acid Wash to win Race 2 CEERSEVEN was very good against the pattern at Geelong and looks well placed stepping up to 1600m. QUITE THE LASS won an easier race in good style last start and is open to further improvement. BROOKLYN BOSS improved nicely to score second up maps for a good run. ADANDIMAN is another last start winner that maps for a soft run. Selections: 4,5,3,1 Suggested Bet: Ceerseven to win Race 3 FIRE OF ETNA may have been ridden a touch too close last time and can improve with a slightly quieter ride. VERY SEWREEL will make her own luck and was beaten by a promising galloper last start. KIND GESTURE looked unlucky in the same race as Fire Of Etna last time and looks another key hope. DANE ON TOUR comes through the same race, she’ll strip fitter and give a sight. Selections: 5,9,1,3 Suggested Bet: Fire Of Etna each way Race 4 RUNNING BY is in great form and gives the impression the rise to 1600m will suit. BEEHUNTER backs up from a sold run last week and can make his own luck again. BELLE SAVOIR did enough first up and will appreciate the extra distance. TORNOTO TERRIER is racing consistently and drawn to get every chance to run the 1600m out. TOOGOODFORTOORAK and TYPHOON HARMONY have a case. Selections: 2,1,9,3 Suggested Bet: Running By to win Race 5 LAZY SUSAN is having a great prep and maps for a good run behind the speed. TANGO JEWEL was beaten by a promising galloper last time and will give another good sight. EXTATWO has upside and has jumped out well to resume. MISS TAKE is another with upside that has been jumping out quite well. Selections: 5,10,2,1 Suggested Bet: Lazy Susan each way Race 6 DON’T DOUBT DORY has been progressing nicely this campaign and looks well placed stepping up to 2040m third up. MANKAYAN ran well first up looks a strong winning hope stepping up to 2040m with a strong second up record. INDEPENDENT ROAD can’t be improving but continues to race in good form and can make his own luck. Selections: 2,1,3,6 Suggested Bet: Don’t Doubt Dory each way Same Race Multi: Don’t Doubt Dory (Top 2) + Mankayan (Top 4) Race 7 FRETTA looks progressive and appears well placed stepping up to 2040m third up. MISS TARZY is fit, flying and races well here. KAILASH also races well here and may be better suited coming back to this trip. INERLINKED drops in weight and looks the other key. Selections: 7,3,4,10 Suggested Bet: Fretta to win Race 8 PHILOSOSPHER has been kept fresh since his dominant win here last start and has jumped out well between race. MORNINGTON GLORY is racing in great form and backs up from a solid win last week. SHIRSHOV boasts an impressive winning strike rate and has jumped out in good style to resume. TAX FREE PROHET will be charging late. Selections: 1,5,2,8 Suggested Bet: Philosopher to win Race 9 Three year old SOUTHPORT TYCOON was scratched from Caulfield on Australia Day to be reserved for this. He showed promise in his first prep and has jumped out nicely to resume. VEIGHT is another promising three year old who looks well placed over 1200m on the fresh side. RECOMMENDATION likes it here, he’s been racing well in NSW and has been kept up to the mark with a jumpout between runs. CURRAN will be strong late. Selections: 11,8,3,2 Suggested Bet: Southport Tycoon each way Race 10 PEREILLE looked a touch unlucky first up and has run well at both his runs here. BELLINGER will strip fitter for a solid run behind an in-form sprinter last start. DANNY’S ST DARCI hit the line strongly at stakes level last start and races well here. ZOU SENSATION and SHOVE OVER have claims. Selections: 6,2,4,8 Suggested Bet: Pereille to win Market Market
