Melbourne City drew 2-2 with top of the table rivals Western United last weekend while Melbourne Victory are undefeated in their last three, getting their season back on track after a run of five matches without a win. Victory also come into this following a midweek fixture in the Asian Champions League. On their day, City can destroy any side in the A-League. Their offensive weapons are second to none and I think the additional rest give them another advantage over Victory. Despite their poor run of form, Glory will look at this matchup favorably, especially considering their last victory was a 2-0 win over the Roar. Brisbane have proven they can win matches at home, but they are yet to figure it out on the road, going winless in seven away fixtures. There is no denying Perth Glory have majorly underperformed this season, but I see some relief coming for the home faithful. Meanwhile, Western United (2nd) are in top form, undefeated in nine straight matches. Western United were unlucky not to beat Melbourne City last weekend, giving up an early 2-0 lead against the league-leaders. John Aloisi’s men are performing close to their peak and use their smothering defense to shut down their opponents, conceding just 14 goals for the season!
