Darren Clayton’s Redcliffe Preview Posted on March 18, 2022March 18, 2022 | Posted by Darren Clayton Race 1 TOMMY LINCOLN (2) will tighten from his run last week when resuming. Sectionally strong from an impossible position behind Deus Ex, he can lead here and from there will take some stitching. L L COOL J (9) looks an ominous threat after his last start 2nd to Star Galleria which followed a smart effort from a tough gate. DEUS EX (7) will need some luck from this alley as he looks destined to be buried. Sharp in front last week, he will be probing. SPEECH IS SILVER (6) chased hard from the trail last week but ultimately could not reel in Turn It Up and has his chances dampened with the six-hole. Selections: 2-9-7-6 Suggested Bet: TOMMY LINCOLN (2) to win Race 2 CAPTAIN NEMO (3) is versatile and has returned from a spell in super order. Doing what he had to last week to score, a repeat victory is well within his grasp. LE TISSIER (6) cops a stinger from the draw but has a great affinity with the middle trip and powered home to a smart win last start. SOHO SINATRA (7) did it his way in front last week with a dictating victory. He looks set for the perfect trip to make a passing lane play. TEDDY FEELS GOOD (1) capitalised from this gate last week to claim a dictating win. This is the next step but the marble lands in his favour. Selections: 3-6-7-1 Suggested Bet: CAPTAIN NEMO (3) to win Race 3 FOND MEMORIES (7) is winless here on The Triangle but might just get the trip to alter that stat. Following a good leader, she can be poised to strike and build on strong recent figures. SECRETAGENT TYCOON (2) has failed to hit the board previously on this deck but should appreciate this second division after his last start behind Turn It Up. MAYWYNS COURAGE (1) has never been to Redcliffe and never won beyond the mile. The gate is a tremendous help in rewriting his form record. BITCOIN (8) was a good winner at this trip two starts back and can descend if the tempo is right. Selections: 7-2-1-8 Suggested Bet: FOND MEMORIES (7) to win Race 4 SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (1) produces the right options to capitalise upon here. Effective when saved for the passing lane, he can secure the cosy trip and be ready to strike. OUR UNCLE JIM (2) looks the main threat as he looks the leader. Strong in victory last start at Marburg when parked, he will be fighting. INFATUATION (8) was an eye-catcher two starts back when placing behind Bitcoin. Wide last week, he can spoil the Uncle party. CAPTAINS PICK (9) was just 5m from Soho Sinatra here last week and will be thereabouts again. Selections: 1-2-8-9 Suggested Bet: SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (1) to win ***BEST BET*** Race 5 AMERICAN OUTLAW (9) was still last off the back turn at Marburg last start and his final 250m would have been razor sharp. The gate hurts but the tempo here should be ideal for the swoop. MAJOR GENERALJUJON (2) led throughout here two starts back in good time and can be first to the pegs again. CALL ME KEITH (7) blew them off the track at Marburg last start and has been strong all campaign but the gate could not be any worse. ADAM CROCKER (6) can be lit up from the wide gate, but it might just use too much fuel to get across. Selections: 9-2-7-6 Suggested Bet: AMERICAN OUTLAW (9) each-way Race 6 LOVE YOUR WORK (1) has drawn gate 1 just once previous in his career with that resulting in an all the way win in a PB rate. Forget his last start at Marburg, he can light every lamp to the wire. THE GENERAL (7) made a closing dive at Captain Nemo last week when beaten a head and will stalk the speed again. HEMSWORTH (8) was disappointing on face value last start, but perhaps the 2138m found him out. A winner of three in succession prior to that flop, he can atone. OBI ONE (4) was strong to the line here last week and has place claims. Selections: 1-7-8-4 Suggested Bet: LOVE YOUR WORK (1) and Flexi trifecta 1 / 4-7-8 Race 7 BLUE IVY (6) started favourite last week and was strong in defeat when 3rd to Jasper. It could be a case of poison ivy from this gate, but with a tricky map, this looks wide open. BLISSFULL LILLY (4) will tighten from her last start after three weeks and the flooding issues between runs. Cheap position will be key. AMERICAN FLYER (5) was collared last start when letting the only danger off her back. Might just be the leader with her early hustle. WHICH HUNT (2) was a little unlucky last start and landing the best gate of any of the main players on paper, would not surprise with a victory Selections: 6-4-5-2 Suggested Bet: WHICH HUNT (2) to place Race 8 SAVING MAJOR PERCY (2) was pleasing to the eye last week when resuming from a spell. Taken back from gate 5, he was strong to the line to grab 3rd and can take advantage of the good alley. SMOOTH CASH (5) lacked the closing zip to reel them in here last week. He may be better suited to getting forward and whacking away to make his play. THE HERVEY BAY (1) may be lacking the press button speed required to hold the front, if he can burrow through his winning chances rise exponentially. FALCONS (7) was only a neck from Teddy Feels Good last week and although at risk of being buried in this, can be chiming in. Selections: 2-5-1-7 Suggested Bet: SAVING MAJOR PERCY (2) to win Race 9 CHAMONIX (1) finally lands a marble after his three runs back this campaign have been from tough draws. Strong to the line two starts back when just 1.5m away, this looks his to lose. LA SAFRON (7) looks set to enjoy the perfect trip on the back of the speed and will be angling to the passing lane to make his challenge. ISOLATION (4) was a smart winner from this same gate three runs back, with a cheap position the key to his chances. RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (2) should settle handy and a return to the sprint trip is in his favour. Selections: 1-7-4-2 Suggested Bet: CHAMONIX (1) to win Race 10 STRESS FACTOR (3) has been able to lead twice in Qld, for a win and a game 3rd in the Christmas Cup. He finds conditions to take control and will be hard to stop. MELPARK MAGIC (1) is racing in a rich vein of form and has three wins from his past four starts. He meets Stress Factor on a level mark here after getting a 20m start on him last time out. MORE SHADES OF GOLD (6) placed behind Red Castleton last week from the mobile and has placed in both runs on this deck. GARLAND GREENE (7) did all the heavy lifting when parked last start and will need to work again from the 20m tape. Selections: 3-1-6-7 Suggested Bet: STRESS FACTOR (3) to win Race 11 SUGARKANE (7) will be needing some factors in her favour, but if she gets a clean shot at them, is right up to taking this. HAMMERTIME HARLEY (6) is receiving no favours with barriers and is slammed with the outside paint again. Beaten a neck last week after sitting parked, she will be going close again. CHARM OFFENSIVE (5) arrived to score at Albion Park two starts back and just got caught too wide last start. IMA BEACH BABE (1) steps up in grade but comes up with the right gate and back to the sprint trip will suit. Selections: 7-6-5-1 Suggested Bet: SUGARKANE (7) win/place Market Market
