Scott Embry’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on April 24, 2026April 24, 2026 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ZORBRIST is one of the more enigmatic gallopers in the State. He’s a 2x C3 1400 winner already and coming off a solid minor in the Abrohlos Plate to an emerging talent in Southland, but he’s also put in some shockers either side. Not the kind of horse you want to take too short of a price about but it does look a great race for him on paper. ARTISTRY IN MOTION is a lightly raced 3 year old with upside. Trialled well twice and is a big beneficiary of the early scratching of fellow on speed type King Brew. PLAYING QUEST tracks up from a near identical spot to last start when running fourth in a Grad. JAZALOT won well last start but is now a gap between runs. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – ZORBRIST WIN RACE 2 ARIZONA SKY put the writing on the wall at his return to racing with a strong minor behind Spellborn. That galloper heads to Ascot on Saturday into a 3 year old Plate and if he was to run a cheeky race behind (or even beating..) a filly like Ladies Pro then that will loom as the best form reference in the field by a long way. KING OF THE TOWN was only nabbed on the post by Effortlessly last start at 1400m and from the inside gate he can either kick through to lead or sit box seat behind Divine Currency. Either spot is an attractive map. MIDNIGHT STAR is no star. She’s had her chances this preparation and continues to find one or two better than her. Become really one paced. MR FRODO has put together two encouraging runs back to back. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – ARIZONA SKY WIN RACE 3 PREMIUM BOY was a really soft trail on 9 March under Paul Harvey and then the punters came for him big time on debut when he was backed from an eachway quote into $3.60 on the second line. He finished fourth beaten 1.5L behind Kanas Mtoto and does need to turn the tables on Universal Talk but you simply must respect the volume of money that came his way on debut and this time around looks leader’s back rather than three back fence. BOUTQIUE BELLE was much better with a sit last start and it should be only a matter of time until this filly breaks through. Wary that the market seems to think she’s better than what she has produced to date, plus the Pike tax, but she shouldn’t have any excuses here. UNIVERSAL TALK can roll to the top and controls the race from there. PRINCE OF DALA a watch from trials. Numbers: 2 – 10 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – PREMIUM BOY WIN RACE 4 VALID POINT resumed over 1200m in the Bonditram race (Bonditram since placed at Narrogin and then Boutique Belle through that form line in race 3) and really caught the eye. He drew barrier 10/13, ended up a mile off them and made really strong ground late in a race that was dominated from in front of him. Considering he led a race at Albany last prep over 1200, he can use the gate to advantage and the Pontiff in the first 4 is a hard man to get past. Looks a great race for him. UNIMANDO showed second-up that the debut run at 100-1 was no fluke. Has to overcome a tricky gate but has finished within 2L in races with arguably more depth than this. LAND OF THE NOD got well out of his ground on debut and found the line well. BELLONA GIRL has been running a few cheeky races at odds this prep and back in distance might be the right move for her. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – VALID POINT WIN RACE 5 SPECIAL COUNSEL put the writing on the wall at his return to racing. He got a long way back and charged late at Kanas Mtoto and should either Premium Boy or Universal Talk score in Race 3 then the form will stand out here. Pike takes over, fitter second-up and an extra 100m all point to him being hard to hold out late. Wary of taking a price too short about a back-marking type on the Scarpside but this does look a very winnable race. GODDLESS STORM just continues to run massive races in defeat. He’s drawn the best gate of this preparation, maps a treat and deserves to win one. Has been flying since Day 1. BONDI BUSINESS didn’t really fire fresh, but at the same time, didn’t get any favours. 46 days later returns to the races with another trial under her belt. I LOVE YA MONEY looks like he’ll appreciate the extra ground. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – SPECIAL COUNSEL WIN RACE 6 TORONADO ROCKET looks ready to win one. Tried hard behind King Brew last start under 60kg last start and now with the Holly Nottle claim gets in with 58.5kg same grade, same distance. He’s jumping well enough to hold leader’s back behind Knockonheavensdoor and he’s been going well enough to get him into the straight. Looks a nice map. BRAVE DRAGON won impressively in a country maiden at Albany and then went to a 3 year old 0MWLY when far from disgraced behind Nature’s Reckoning and Joyoh. He’s clearly turned a corner. DOMINANT FORCE was nominated for a 3 year old Saturday event but has instead bypassed that to accept here. Only a York maiden winner but has shown glimpses. SNIP OF ROMANCE an improver at odds. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 8 – 10 Suggested Bet – TORONADO ROCKET WIN RACE 7 JOYOH was backed into $1.75 last start in a 3 year old 0MWLY off the back of a fresh maiden win and a luckless second-up 3 year old Saturday run. She was simply no match for Nature’s Reckoning who is now progressing to the Sheila Gwynne Classic on Saturday to take on the likes of Londons Image, Bonjoy and Fast Flicker. Back in grade again into a C1 and maps a treat. She’s returned in excellent order. SKY POET was impressive on the Scaprside on debut when he just kept coming under pressure and got the better of Batista. Second-up he went to a C3 and wasn’t disgraced behind Peter Gunn and subsequent 60+ Graduation winner Fifth Essence. Back into a C1 – love, barrier 1 and three back fence – hate. EFFORTLESSLY had to really sprint hard to get over King of the Town to break her maiden. She’s getting better and better with racing. ALABRAE is winding up hard late and knocking on the door. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – JOYOH WIN RACE 8 ASTRO WORLD steps out for the first time for new trainers Grant & Alana Williams who look to have a stranglehold over this race. She’s a previous fresh winner, she has worked through her gears under little riding at trials and she’s 60+ Graduation placed to now stablemate Fast Harry who is a 72/78+ horse in the making. Provided they can make ground, she’ll be flooding home late. Should be a really nice acquisition and can work her way through the grades. HOUSEWIFE trialled well at Lark Hill, was solid first-up at 1200m in a leader dominated event here on the Scarpside and then finished second to now Saturday 66+ winner Rally The Troops in a heat of the NARS Series. THINK PINK DAZE tries hard. She’ll be a money earner across her career. JUST GIFTED couldn’t lead at Ascot and wasn’t the same mare. Expect she’ll be allowed to stride here. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – ASTRO WORLD WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,6 1,3 2,3,4,5,7,10 6 Market Market
