Scott Embry’s Sunday Rockingham Preview Posted on April 24, 2026April 24, 2026 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 CLASSIC ROYALE finished third to Scream (won again since and now racing Saturday in a 66+) and second to Missile Girl in 46+ ratings race at York and will now carry only 1kg more in a maiden. The form is easily strong enough to win this, the queries are the end of the 1400m and the fact that Jason Li is looking for his first winner in the saddle. SNOOZE YOU LOSE is the first of a host of David Harrison horses who are lining up at the Lark Hill meeting and the best part about them is that they’ve all trialled exclusively at the track across their careers. Big watch on the market. FLICK’N RUBIES is coming through maiden handicaps at York and Narrogin and arguably her best run was at 1300m behind I’ll Keep Half. LUCKY MOON is first-up, no trial but can get ground. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – CLASSIC ROYALE WIN RACE 2 GODSEND LADY is quick, she showed that at Bunbury most recently when crossing from 7 of 13 on Melbourne Cup Day and finishing 1.5L behind Publicise. Expect that Elisha Whittington will be given a licence to let her run and on the fresh side hopefully she can cross plenty of rivals drawn underneath. Is a Lark Hill 950m trial winner and would be shocked if Harro didn’t train a few winners at the program. GETS THE GIRLS won’t be contesting anywhere near the front but can take all the short cuts along the fence. Huge run two back behind Melody Fair at 1100. MAXINE’S WISH is going well having placed in back to back maiden handicaps at York. She should be able to hold a spot midfield too. BOUTQIUE SESSION an improver second-up. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – GODSEND LADY WIN RACE 3 SUNBRONZED is another David Harrison runner who looks well placed and another really nice ride for new Hong Kong apprentice Jason Li. He’s a 60+ Graduation winner going around in a 56+ and most recently he comes through a Heat of the Provincial Series when beaten 4L by God Has Drifted. Was on a freshen that day too, just wonder whether it was to target this meet? APPARATUS won a C3 1400 at Bunbury only five starts ago and then two starts later finished second to now Saturday winner Desert Waves in a C3 1400 at Pinjarra. Big respect. I’LL KEEP HALF won first-up in a maiden handicap at York and with the booking of Pike will take the attention of many. WHO SAZ YES will improve for the first-up run. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – SUNBRONZED WIN RACE 4 SPACE ACADEMY won a C1 1600 at Belmont beating subsequent winner Fey King, didn’t run 1900 at Albany in a forgive, was beaten in a head-bobbing finish by Tosen Impact in a 52+ 1500 at York and then got too far out of his ground at Geraldton when beaten 4L by Giles. Pike on. Punters on. SIDE SHOW looks just about ready to bounce back to some form. Only beat one runner home at Ascot but still only 2.5L off Dark Looks, then in a leader dominated event last start at Pinjarra on the Scarpside made as much ground as anything into fifth beaten 4L Hope To Rule. Building again. STARTLING STAR is only second-up and the day she broke her maiden beating Old Mate Henry she looked a nice progressive mare. NORMA STARS won at Narrogin on Thursday. Could be on the 3 day back-up. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – SPACE ACADEMY WIN RACE 5 GOD SHE’S SASSY should be a Lark Hill 950m specialist. She’s ridiculously quick and the last time David Harrison produced her first-up, no trial was at Northam on 10th July 2025 when she led and won over 1000m by 6.2L. Got the job done second-up in that preparation down the 1000m straight too and so she looks very hard to beat here and there’s anything near even money that will do many punters. Looks the lock of the meeting. STAR POWER could run a cheeky if getting across from that wide alley. Consistent type of mare and ran second to Prawns Eleven in a C5 at Bunbury only three starts back. MANTUA hasn’t won a race in WA just yet but has finished off well into minor money in both C3 and 60+ Grad company already. KARNUP QUEEN is as talented as any of these but may end up a long way off them. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – GOD SHE’S SASSY WIN RACE 6 PRETTY DEVINE is a jump and run type. You would think that they’re the types of horse who are going to win the majority of races at Lark Hill (although realistically guess work) but if Tiana Murray can get her out and running and cross to the inside fence then she’ll be in front for a long way. Different mare when she has the fence to follow and think she’ll safely cross and hold these. Loves racing in and around this grade: last 4 wins all 46+/52+ races. ADDICTIVE DREAM looked a bit lost at Dongara. Back to Lark Hill, Jarrad Noske to ride and drawn to track up along the fence, looks a sharp improver. ON THE FULL beat home Pretty Devine comfortably in the Marines Cry race on 15 March but has struggled for consistency recently. WESTERN IMPACT has dirt form to his name but is a grass winner at Narrogin. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – PRETTY DEVINE WIN RACE 7 BECALOTTI is 49 days between runs – big unknown, but prior to that freshen she finished fifth (somehow?!) in the Ladies Bracelet after sweeping to the front on straightening under 60kg and hitting a brick wall at the 100m mark. Traded under $1.10 in live betting and watching the replay it’s still hard to believe she’s somehow missed the money. Trusting team Noske to have her fit enough to run out the mile because this is a thin race and she has the best formlines to her name. WAYNE THE PAIN looms as the one who can take advantage if she’s vulnerable late. She’s rock hard fit, gives 110% and after the Ava Catarino claim has only 54kg on his back. CORN COB steps out for new trainer Aaron Pateman for the first time and was only 3L off them in a 66+ last time out. BEATS OF WAR was an encouraging run first-up for new trainer SJ Miller. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – BECALOTTI WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,6 7 1,2,3,5 1,3,4,5 Market Market
