Scott Embry’s Tuesday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on April 15, 2019April 15, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 BADGE OF COURAGE has developed into the horse he had always promised to be. He is flying and there is nothing to suggest his super run of form won’t continue today. Stablemate SENORITA BONITA looks the only logical danger. The booking of an inexperienced apprentice may turn some punters off, however expect her to roll straight to the top and run along. PENALTY POINT carries significantly less weight than rivals and always runs honest races. THE CRUEL SEA is as honest as they come. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – BADGE OF COURAGE WIN Race 2 SMARTY looks another very ‘smart’ horse for the Cambana Lodge stable. Her two career runs today could not have been more impressive and all things being equal she kickstarts what looks to be a promising career. Going off Saturday’s markets likely to open ~$3.50. Take it straight away. SERKET will be the one to run down. From the inside draw the former eastern states mare will be in front for a long way. DANCE WEST rattled come late reeling off an exceptional last 600 sectional last time out. Whether she knows how to be first past the post is the query. EXPLOSION is a nice addition to Ross Craig’s yard. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – SMARTY WIN Race 3 HARRELSON was caught off the track and fought on gamely on debut. Mauritian apprentice Brandon Louis is in form and if he can find cover from the sticky draw the colt can give backers a sight at an eachway price. Around the $5.50 mark is a nice enough play. WHSIPERING JACK also has bad gate to overcome and will need luck in running. He will be doing his best work late. TOMMY TO JACK maps to advantage and the 1400m will suit. SCREAM IN BLUE will have every chance from the inside barrier. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – HARRELSON EACHWAY Race 4 GLUTEN FREE stamped himself as another future Fernie front liner in a dominant first up maiden victory. The step up in grade is always a query but if Stone finds the front it is probably race over. Won’t see more than around $2.50 but hard to beat. BARTRADER has been a consistent addition to the Brett Matthews stable. Is one of a few chances on paper for up and coming apprentice Beaux Edwards. NOBEL SUSPECT will look to come across with his more fancied stable mate and is well in at the weights after the claim of Beeps Louis. WHISPERIT was an impressive Esperance maiden winner and another win is not far away. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – GLUTEN FREE WIN Race 5 BOS TAURUS needs luck from the gate but it was hard not to be impressed with his first up effort. Usually goes well fresh and expect the badge of courage form to hold up. If he opens $13 like he did Saturday that’ll halve within the hour. GLIMMER GIRL looks a very handy pick up for local trainer David Smith. The former Bob Peters galloper is all class on her day as her overall record suggests. If she is anywhere near right she goes close. BELLS TOWER strung together two in a row at the Bay Of Isles but historically hasn’t been very successful at his home track. GALVESTON BAY can improve sharply sitting behind an anticipated hot speed. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – BOS TAURUS WIN Race 6 LADY LE JEAN is undeniably talented and the drop in grade might be just what she needs to bounce back to her best form. If she travels to Kalgoorlie and turns up then she should be winning at the D’Arcy Shorts. VITAL TOUCH had to work to find the front which ultimately bought her undone late in proceedings last time out. From the inside gate Forrest should find the front a lot more comfortably. FEARLESS GENERAL was the target of strong market support when breaking maiden status. Outside gate makes it tough. MONASH looked a tired horse at his most recent start but his trainer has a knack at improving them at odds. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – LADY LE JEAN WIN Race 7 RARE SELECTION found the line nicely at his return to Kalgoorlie when towing up behind a strong speed. This race looks to be less genuinely run and Boondy Stone may even find the front where she rates them to perfection. HILBERT was one of the finds of the 2018 season. It really was a breakout preparation and he looks set to continue his rise through the grades. DANCE MINDY DANCE is another Matthews runner who doesn’t necessarily show her best form at Kalgoorlie however, is racing well enough to go close. POINT finds himself at a fourth stable but has to be respected. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – RARE SELECTION EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 4 1,2,4,7 5,8 1,7 Market Market
