Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on January 13, 2026January 15, 2026 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PURE SILVER is no stranger to the quick back-up. She went from her run in the Lee Steere into a 3 year old 0MWLY off 4 days and will now back up off 4 days again from Sunday’s meeting at Bunbury into this moderate 3 year old 0MWLY. The blinkers came off on Sunday and that was the winning move, with the filly racing far more tractably for Victoria Corver. 60kg is an ask but this is the standard heavily compressed weight scale of these 0MWLY races. COSMIC TREAT put it all together last start and was free striding out in front for Holly Nottle and looked really comfortable doing so. Should again bounce on the lead and take running down. THE ROCKET caught the eye first-up and then was held up second-up. Booking of Pike takes the attention. NAUGHTY LORD is a work in progress. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – PURE SILVER WIN RACE 2 LUNA ASCENDING has now put in two rippers for Anne King. First-up was eye-catching late behind Elvira Star and then showed it was no fluke second-up when again attacking the line hard from an impossible position on straightening to go down under half a length of Bulletin Beau. If Naughty Lord was to run a race in the opener it would only make her look even better. Fingers crossed they can make ground and would love a world in which we got eachway as insurance. QUEEN SELYSE has shown glimpses and Holly Nottle / DMac are going at 31% and 84% POT last 90 days. Last start could have finished a touch closer after being marginally held up on straightening. CAN’T CATCH ME won her maiden impressively and David Harrison doesn’t muck around booking Pike. CASSENITE no longer looks just a 1000m mare. Her two runs this prep have both been really strong. Numbers: 4 – 10 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – LUNA ASCENDING EACHWAY RACE 3 HUBBLE’S DRAGON was run off his legs on debut on a Heavy8 behind Twisted Steel and then whacked away into minor money behind Cape Leeuwin at his second start as a 2 year old, again on a bottomless wet track. Trials this time around have been sound and with Pike and blinkers on he’ll be understandably popular in betting. HELIOS AMIGOS trialled well down the straight behind Admire The Girl leading into his first preparation and then was far too green and raw. Liked the run fresh behind Dark Avalanche and always had time for the horse. HELLBENT FOR GLORY went around 40-1 on debut and finished 11th, however, the run had plenty of merit and the form line is white hot. YOUANMI has trialled well on two occasions this prep leading into his race day debut. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 11 – 12 Suggested Bet – HUBBLES DRAGON WIN RACE 4 COMMON TOUCH is ready to win. There were a fair few excuses at different stages of the race last start for both horse and rider and now sixth-up into the preparation, with a set of shades going on and getting out to 1600m he looks to get his best chance yet. Happy to follow the Hurricane Harley, Rock The Market and Cosmic Treat races that he comes through. BOLD FIGHT sectionally wasn’t too bad two back behind Mr Karadec (same race that Wild Things came through) and then was only 2.5L off that same galloper last start when finding the line. Looks a one paced staying type. GINGER TED was beaten a margin last start but behind Poblano and Autumn Gem. EXCAVATION was trapped wide throughout last start and whacked away late. Back in distance and blinkers on. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – COMMON TOUCH WIN RACE 5 ROSIE CAN RUN was targeting betting last start in a C3 1675 at Bunbury and nearly got the job done, getting within a short head of Shazair. Back into a C1, in a race where they’ll roll along to suit and looks like she’s closing in on another win. WILD THINGS is the progressive filly in the race and will no doubt go around pretty short. She had to sustain a run from a long way out last start to get the job done. She’s on the rise, most of these have long plateaued. SWIFT STREAKER gave plenty of cheek last start behind Azabelle (races on Wednesday in a C3 at Ascot) and after the Chanel Cooper claim strikes a near identical race with 2kg less on his back. Should be a great apprentices’ horse, straight to the front and don’t look back. ETERNAL ROMANCE was backed into favourite last start in the same race as Swift Streaker. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – ROSIE CAN RUN WIN RACE 6 MAGICAL SEQUENCE had to do it the tradesman’s way first-up when parking three deep the trip without cover and still getting up. She’ll get a far more economical run in transit here and unlike key rival Superfluous, she does everything like a professional. Like the way she goes about it. SUPERFLUOUS trialled super without blinkers leading into his return to racing and then stood in the gates, missing by 3+L and not stretching out early. How he managed to get within 2.3L of the winner was ridiculous and now with a senior rider on he’ll hopefully do things right. MANJERI was able to get the job done last start after tracking up in behind Five Down and getting the better of him in the concluding stages (thoughts with those who were part of the $51 into $10 plunge). Going along well. NAUGHTY TORTIE might be best allowed to stride. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – MAGICAL SEQUENCE WIN RACE 7 PLANET CASH hasn’t won a race in over 900 days and will need conditions to allow horses to make ground at Pinjarra on Thursday, but if they can, then he looks to have found the most winnable race of the last 12 – 18 months and has been racing well since joining Summer Dickson. Great run first-up behind Speed Dream, solid in a 66+ behind Magna’s Choice second-up and then over-did it in a slowly run race last time out and brought himself undone. Think he’s actually going really well and given the Days Since Last Win will be eachway in a winnable race. FIFTH ESSENCE just peaked on his run late second-up. Should be about right now and can again roll forward to park up on pace. CHEROKEE MISS takes a big step from a 46+ to a C5 and is a different mare on the quick spin. LATE ARRIVAL is far better suited in this than the 66+ he comes through and after breezing still beat home Planet Cash by nearly 1.5L. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 11 – 3 Suggested Bet – PLANET CASH EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,5,6,7 1,4,5 2,6 2,3,5,11 Market Market
