Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on January 17, 2023January 17, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SHOOTING KONTIKI finished third behind Mia Gusto fresh last preparation (she has since won a 3 year old Plate at Ascot), finished third behind Azena and Nunes and second behind Protégé. Won a recent 1000m trial without blinkers and is drawn to get every favour in running here. Has been hard to make ground on the Scarpside and he’ll take up a position over the speed. Looks a great race for him on paper to resume a winner. LOVA SESSION has been an interesting filly to follow at trials. Has a level of ability but does plenty wrong, especially early out of the gates. ROCKIN THE SILKS was a reasonable trial and is drawn to get all the favours. REEL THEMOFF ran well down the straight at his return. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – SHOOTING KONTIKI WIN RACE 2 DESERT NYMPH was last seen when finishing second to Laced Up Heels. We all know the Laced Up Heels story from them on and she’s now nominated for the All Star Mile. The recent trial was very quiet under Troy Turner and she worked through her gears late when seeing daylight. Keep safe at her return. ROCKARIA looks a very speedy gelding. He is drawn barrier 12 and looks to hug the outside fence. Think he’ll be in front for a long way in this. MICRO BURST joins Ryan Hill’s yard and while she’s a 5 year old mare she’s shown huge ability at trials. Hopefully he can keep her sound. BORN AND BREAD chased hard behind Bisector and Divine Inanna at her Danny Morton debut and has straight 1000 experience. ALOTTO ADMIRER trialled super too. Good race this. Numbers: 12 – 5 – 10 – 11 Suggested Bet – DESERT NYMPH EACHWAY RACE 3 EEE PEE CEE gets another go as the on top selection. Ran third at his Neville Parnham debut behind Gage Roads and The Big One when caught flat footed on straightening. Went back last start and couldn’t match motors with Lucky’s Way when she let rip half way down the straight. The way he raced he was looking for further and he gets exactly that stepping out to a mile for the first time. Drawn to sit close handy and gets another opportunity. ROCK N TALES got into trouble at around the 600 last week when caught up behind tiring runners with nowhere to go. Forgive and forget. CAMPFIRE JACK is continuing to hit the line. DIAMOND SCENE had the kitchen sink thrown at him at trials but to his credit he kept whacking away. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – EEE PEE CEE WIN RACE 4 SECRET ATTIRE wasn’t disgraced on debut over 1200m when outsprinted by King’s Wench (races on Wednesday at Belmont) and Renato (subsequent winner last Wednesday at Belmont). Looks a nice form reference for this and the extra 200m should be in her favour. Drawn sticky but CJP is riding with confidence and Adam Durrant’s team are starting to tick over nicely. LET THEM ALL TALK simply didn’t look to stick out a strong 1500 last start. Stevie Parnham rolled him into the home straight and it looked like it was race over but he got the wobbles badly in the last 100m and put up the white flag finishing fourth. Back 100m may help and he looks like working his way across to lead or breeze again. BIG SPIDER has shown glimpses. FLEUR DELACOUR gets a soft run in behind the speed. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – SECRET ATTIRE WIN RACE 5 ZAZA ROCK looks very hard to beat. Second on debut behind Enchanting Sound, beating home odds on favourite Cavallo Red and then finished a narrow second behind Albright at start number two. Looks like she’ll only get better the further she goes but staying at 1400m and drawing a nice middle alley will allow Brad Parnham to put her into the race when he wants and expecting she’ll come out wither maiden victory here. DENZOE is a long time maiden but went awfully close to breaking through last start. MAHUTA MATATA has improved at each and every trial. Looks like he’ll get out over ground but this is a nice starting point for him. OCEAN QUEEN was winding up late in the Secret Attire race on debut. Numbers: 10 – 5 – 2 – 11 Suggested Bet – ZAZA ROCK WIN RACE 6 WITHOUT REG didn’t quite run out 1650m at his first attempt last start at Belmont. He stepped into a 0MWLY and loomed on straightening before fading back into fourth. His last five starts he’s been consistent and solid around types whose form more than measures up in this even and open C3 event. Think barrier 1 will suit him and coming back in trip and grade both help his cause. RUNFORROB can work across from the deep and take things up. MEGAMI is a hit and miss type of filly but she’s got undeniable ability. SPORTS TALK tried to buck last start. Prior form all strong. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – WITHOUT REG WIN RACE 7 HEAR MY PRAYER has had two trials to warm him up for his return to racing and he has blinkers attached for the first time. After winning a maiden at Northam he finished only 2L off Baby Paris and Saintorio in a 3 year old 1200. Nice form for a C1. ALASKALOT will bring interest at his return to racing. The half-brother to Alaskan God was eye-catching on debut behind Kosta’s Crown when rattling home through traffic and then was too strong for his opposition when parked three deep the trip without cover at 1400m at only his second career outing. They will need to be making ground for him to show his best (wait and watch the pattern type). BAKE SOME MAYBES tried hard behind talented gelding Boots Like Bruce fresh. FRUIT LOOPS hasn’t been seen since his barnstorming first-up win. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – HEAR MY PRAYER WIN RACE 8 NIIGATA was an impressive win at Albany last start. She was involved in a decent bumping dual down the backstraight and then pulled right away late to score a deserving and overdue victory. From the inside gate she can enjoy a soft run and if it’s leaders and on fence then she’s more than capable of going back to back. OUTSPOKEN DUKE is working into his preparation nicely. He’s got plenty more in store and will get out over further. ELDORADO RIVER is the kind of mare you think of when you think long Pinjarra Scarpside run home. CANDLELIGHT SUPPER is going along alright. Numbers: 12 – 1 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – NIIGATA EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 10 1,2,3,4,6,8,9 4,6,7 1,2,3,7,8,10,12 Market Market
