Scott Embry’s Thursday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on April 23, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 BADGE OF COURAGE was unable to reel in his speedy stable mate Senorita Bonita last time out. He has gone under 4 out of his last 5 runs as a short priced favourite, so although he is hard to tip past today it may pay to tread carefully. ONE HOT FOX will be last throughout but her sectional data suggests if there is a chink in the favorite’s armor she will be the one running over the top. BELLS TOWER is in tremendous form but maps to breeze over an unknown journey. THE CRUEL SEA has another win left in him. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – BADGE OF COURAGE WIN Race 2 RARE SELECTION looks very well suited to make it two in a row. His previous two efforts have been outstanding and in a race which looks devoid of a natural leader, Tayla Stone aka ‘The Boond’ can roll straight to the top, control proceedings and be too strong late. BARTRADER was eye catching and the appointment of a senior rider enhances his chances. CROWN CHOICE was a nice run behind a horse who looks to have a bright future. GRAND CADEAU will be doing his best work late but looks suited at a mile and beyond. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – RARE SELECTION WIN Race 3 HARRELSON has been forced to tramp 3 deep the trip at both of his career runs. He won’t encounter that problem today from the inside gate and this is as weak a race as he will contest. ATTICUS hasn’t shown much in his short career but wouldn’t have to be a champion to be in the finish on his WA debut. SERKET best chance of winning is by finding the front. SIMPLE AS THAT can surely pick up a maiden this season. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – HARRELSON WIN Race 4 TOMMY TO JACK found the line strongly at his 2nd outing for the Craig Wright Stable. With Autier in the saddle today expect him to settle a lot closer to the speed at an each way price. OUR MAORI BOY raises the bat today at start number 50, and it would be one of the great Australian underdog stories if he can finally break through. KICKAPOO has improved at both of his Kalgoorlie runs. QUADRILLE can run a race at cricket score odds. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – TOMMY TO JACK WIN Race 5 LITTLE HERCULES returned bravely, lumping 60.5kgs to be narrowly defeated by the talented Wocknwoll. The claim of Brandon Louis sees him very hard to beat here. STRIP THE MOON bounced back to some form when leading and boxing on gamely last time out. Expect a very similar performance. RECAPITULATE was a surprise winner when breezing and finds the fence today. MONASH was an encouraging debut run for Shannon Rougan. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – LITTLE HERCULES WIN Race 6 PASTRY looks another Fernie galloper that will be going through the grades this season. She has an abundance of natural speed and the appointment of strong front running rider Matthieu Autier is very suitable. LADY LE JEAN has a stack of ability and it won’t take long for her to break through for Mr Peter Fernie. PALMA MERENTI joins the Neville Newton yard and his first WA preparation showed he has a few wins in store. WHISPERIT was scratched behind the gates last meeting which leaves a question mark over where she is at. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – PASTRY WIN Race 7 IT’S DYNAMITE does her best work fresh over the sprint trip. She will be the less fancied of the Fernie runners but she is classy and very well suited by the inside draw and claim of Brandon Louis. WOCKNWOLL may be the next Little Fish and is the obvious choice here, however, she can be a hard horse to handle and its hard to see her anywhere other than 3 deep the trip. BOS TAURUS is well weighted with the apprentice on board. TEMPLE MAN can sprint well fresh. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – IT’S DYNAMITE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) FLD 1,3 2,5 1,6 Market Market
