Scott Embry’s Wednesday Geraldton Preview Posted on April 23, 2019April 29, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 KENYLUCK leaves the Neville Parnham Ascot stable and joins Allan Hughes for the final meet of the Geraldton season. Drops in trip, draws the inside and falls into a weak maiden. XAARMERIT has been there abouts last three runs finishing third. Should go at least one better. APPROACH trialed really well at Belmont in January when an impressive winner. Has shown zero on the track. SHRICANTA was an improver last start. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – KENYLUCK WIN Race 2 ASHBURN trialed well at Geraldton on 7 Feb and 21 Feb. Was in the market on debut and didn’t get a lot of luck. From the draw can lead or box seat and go close at start number two. CHASING THE ACE has finished in the money at her last three. Gate 1, C.Parnham means she opens nearly odds on and you’d have to be brave to be putting Australian Dollars on her. EXIT STAGE RIGHT was strong on debut running fourth and improves. NO SECRET could surprise a few on debut. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – ASHBURN EACHWAY Race 3 CRYPTO arguably should have won his last two starts. He’ll win this and then likely head to the paddock or to town and looks to have a future. Opens ~$1.75 and likely shortens from there. Probably jumps closer to $1.45 and will be the anchor of many a multi. SPOOKWOOD has always shown a level of ability at trials and raced without luck. Shaun O’Donnell makes a rare trip to Gero. YOURTHEONEFORME draws poorly but has found form. Can go back and run a place. ROBYN’S SON has improved at each start over the last month. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – CRYPTO WIN Race 4 FREEDOM BY CHOICE drops out of the Geraldton Cup where he ran a gallant third. Draws a gate, has grown a leg since racing on speed and gives 4kg claimer Kate Southam a lovely opportunity to ride another winner. PARIS OF TROY has been a shade disappointing all campaign. Can bounce back here. SADLERS HILLS has finally started to put it all together and no reason why he can’t win again. KARNATAKA is better than first and second-up runs after a freshen. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – FREEDOM BY CHOICE WIN Race 5 A SLIPPERYCUSTOMER has hit form towards the end of the season and Andrew Castle is riding in career best form. His strike rate over the last month or so has gone through the roof and this is another nice ride. SHADABLAZE has not won for a long time but has been building all prep. CAN HE HUSSLE is still a work in progress but should find the front. RED EPIC won his maiden well but this is tougher. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – A SLIPPERYCUSTOMER WIN Race 6 PARISA is a talented mare resuming. She loves the Gero circuit and this does look the race that Shaun O’Donnell makes his first trip to the region all season for. From the gate can park behind the speed and unleash late. ADMIRAL HUSSON has speed and was forced to do a mountain of work last start on Cup Day. Senior rider on, if he crosses he can definitely win. ENACTMENT has an abundance of speed and can kick up along the fence. REBELLIONAIRE is a hard one to ride and a hard one to follow. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet – PARISA WIN Race 7 HALLDORA is drawn the outside but if Hill can fly the gates and cross them then she is right in the mix here. Was attacked a long way from home last start and previous effort when only run down late was super. DANEHILL MATILDA is in form and from the gate gets a wonderful chance to make it a winning hattrick. TRADE TALK won Gero horse of the year and is a quality animal. Only query is back to 1100m at this stage of the campaign. BLACK DYNMAITE is ultra consistent but lacking a killer blow at the minute. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – HALLDORA EACHWAY Race 8 COMPARATIVE looks to be a nice acquisition for the Bamford team going forward. From the gate can position up just behind the speed and went well last start in a far tougher race than this. 1300m looks his ideal distance and he can carry weight. CORPORATE TRADER is starting to fulfil his potential. From the draw he going to be three deep for a fair way. SKY ATLAS is more than capable but will need luck from out there. DAINTY PAT reproducing his 3 year old form sees her win. Reproducing her 4 year old form she runs midfield. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – COMPARATIVE EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,6,8 1,4 1,2,6 1,3,7 Market Market
