Scott Embry’s Thursday Albany Preview Posted on January 27, 2021January 27, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 NATURAL MOSS comes from Paul Roberts travelling stables and ever so consistent yard. He wins races with good horses, he wins races with average maidens. This gelding has been back to trials since finishing fourth behind Big Bada Boom and Spirit of Prophecy. Beaten 4L in two outings but draws the inside gate to get every chance. SPIRIT OF PROPHECY is becoming frustrating to follow. Never far from the winner but continues to find a way to get rolled. Surely she’s close. OUR PANDEMONIUM is going well enough but like Spirit of Prophecy goes round short for a mare who gets beat. HARRISON JACK has blinkers and Parnham. Enough to be thrown in for fourth. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – NATURAL MOSS WIN RACE 2 GINGER GREEN simply looks a class above his maiden rivals. Every now and then Steve Wolfe brings out one of his Saturday horses in the Great Southern and that looks exactly the case here with Ginger Green. Sixth behind Saturday winners All Day Session, Born to Rule as well as Billy Ain’t Silly, second to Congreve Rocket and a close up third behind Speedbird and Castillo Del Lago. Should win. YUNA MAILMAN went awfully close at his second career outing. Looks like he’ll be winning races. ANGEL OF JUSTICE wasn’t a bad trial at the Fitzpatrick Plate meeting. COUNT THE SESSSIONS has the Parnham/Blinkers combination same as race 1. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 11 – 6 Suggested Bet – GINGER GREEN WIN RACE 3 DON’T OVERTAKE resumed from a spell when drawing middle of the line, going back and hitting the line well enough behind Morgs Freeman, Endovanera and Grand Design to suggest that coming from a 58+ back into a C1 would take a bit of beating. Draws a gate and is a definite winning chance. KAZKAZI was plunged at his #Roy debut and the money landed. Looked very impressive in that win and can go on with it now. LOKI is talented and if Kyra Yuill can get him the right run he’s another winning chance. WARM N FUZZY will be ridden like Laqdar stole him. Jump and run. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – DON’T OVERTAKE EACHWAY RACE 4 FANGIO looks like a Saturday horse in the making and really just marking time before Roy Rogers brings her to town. Has to lump 59kg here coming up into a 58+ and runs into boom youngster God Has Chosen but even with the weight she looks the one to beat. Chris Parnham can do what Jess Gray can’t and that is position up in running with Fangio. Should hold a fair head start on the 3 year old heading for home. GOD HAS CHOSEN was subject to big 6 figures offers after his classy victory last start. Looks to have a mountain of raw ability and like Fangio is destined for town. VOLPE can lead and give some cheek again. NORDIC KING back in trip an improver. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – FANGIO WIN RACE 5 BIG BADA BOOM will need to improve again here. Drops from 1850 back to 1500, comes up in grade into a 58+ after toying with them at Barker in a C2. Ever improving type and provided Chris Parnham can find a position in running from a sticky draw then he looks capable of making it four on the bounce. STARORIO was a revelation for Cliffy Green at Geraldton earlier in the campaign. Knows how to win and is in a winnable race. WAR CLASS has returned to racing well and is the third of the main winning chances. Drawn to get the run of the race. CAROLINA REAPER next best. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – BIG BADA BOOM WIN RACE 6 LIVING THE DREAM was on the fresh side 45 days between runs at his most recent when finishing a narrow second to Speedy Miss, beating home subsequent Ascot winner and soon to be (you would think) stablemate in Zetorio. Clearly has had issues but his career PB in a BM70 at Flemington is lengths better than opposition. Can he start to recapture his best? KENDELS MEE DAD drops in weight coming up into this grade. Loves Albany and should get the right run. SLICED BREAD was woeful first-up by his standards. Expecting sharp improvement. CANDLELIGHT STAR was amazing in the Fitzpatrick Plate. Turned the clock back two years. Numbers: 7 – 11 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – LIVING THE DREAM EACHWAY RACE 7 BLUE TURNS TO GREY loves running second. Was lifted home by Holly Watson two starts ago at Esperance over future plunge horse Aboard. Last start ran another game second to Big Bada Boom and that form could look even stronger earlier in the Albany program. You’d want eachway and probably get it here. CHOOSE TO CRUISE was a brilliant maiden winner only three starts ago and then since hasn’t had much go his way. Back in traffic from gate 1 the concern. COCKY ED is in a similar vein. Going particularly well without winning. ART ADMIRER gives Helen Harding a third chance in the same race. Wide open. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – BLUE TURNS TO GREY EACHWAY RACE 8 IT COMES NATURAL went back first-up from a wide gate and never got into the race. Was beaten 4.7L by Stable Secret. That race contained the subsequent Batavia Sprint winner in My Demi and horses like Wine Night, Star Glitter, Lil Red Bikini, Beret and the like. Went back to trials and ran second to Resortman and with a few gear changes, a drop in grade and the 3kg claim of Keshaw Dhurun he looks to have found a really nice race. SWIFT MIRAGE won well at his Paul Hunter debut. Tough ride for Kyra Yuill but she is capable. MODERN TIMES is going well and this is a thinner race than he has been contesting recently. WANNA BE GOOD was sacked by all WA punters 18 months ago. If Roy Rogers gets him to race genuinely he really is a genius. Numbers: 3 – 9 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – IT COMES NATURAL EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,3,42,3,4,6,7,10,111,2,3,4,51,3,4,5,9 Market Market
