Scott Embry’s Sunday Pinjarra Preview Posted on April 19, 2024April 19, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MANZOR MAGIC was backed into favourite on Good Friday (how?) in a 54+ against the older horses. He got within 4L late of Grand Reserve, Hieronymus Bosch, Simply, Blue Card and beat home Savorski. That should be sufficient form to win a lowly 2000m maiden. DEMONSTRATION went close last start behind Candlelight Sherif. He’s had 15 cracks at it but he can stay the trip and will keep whacking away. MISSEDTHEDEEL ran second in a C1 last start behind Canggu over 1600m. Looks like she’ll stay. SKITTISH looked a fleeting hope last start but may have peaked on the run. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – MANZOR MAGIC WIN RACE 2 OLIVIA’SMEMUMMA looks to have found a great race in which to break her maiden. Three starts back she finished 2.3L off Just Saint James down the 1000m straight and last start she finished second behind impressive debut winner Richanco. Drawn the outside fence – tick, 1000m straight experience – tick, speed – tick. Looks a great race for her. ROUNDABOUT GLORY was only fair at Albany. On the bright side the winner of that race has won twice since to frank the form. SOLO UNALTRO didn’t have a lot of luck late on debut. SOMETHING ROYAL is a 2 year old with 53kg against the older horses. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – OLIVIA’SMEMUMMA WIN RACE 3 DUG ANOTHER HOLE finished third behind Lombadina two starts ago over and finished third behind Hanoi Miss last start. Gets back out to 1400m drawn to kick through and either lead or box seat and if the track is anything like it was on Thursday then up on speed could be the place to be. Deep maiden but one of the main fancies. STRYKER’S GAL ran well on debut in the same race as Dug Another Hole and then got a long way out of her ground and hit the line full of running second-up. Logical danger. CABLE ROCK heads back into a maiden. SNIP OF GOSSIP savaged the line late fresh. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – DUG ANOTHER HOLE WIN RACE 4 SASSY SKYE was first-up, no trial over 1406m at Pinjarra 11 day ago and ran a mighty race into third behind Cruise To Rio and Ain’tsobad. She sat in the breeze and did all the work and never gave it away in the concluding stages. Second-up fitter, winkers go on and she’s drawn to kick through and lead them this time around. Hard to get past. RUBICK LASS should have finished much closer last start. Was held up at crucial stages after being well supported throughout betting. PERCUSSION PRINCE ran well behind nice type Valdarena. LET SPARKS FLY is better than what she showed at Geraldton. Numbers: 7 – 9 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet: SASSY SKYE WIN RACE 5 RED TORI trialled really well alongside first-up Saturday winner Malkar Pindari and then was strong throughout betting first-up under stable apprentice Cassey Martinan at Scarpside. Never really looked or travelled the winner into the home straight and was left a floundering fifth late. Rises to 59kg here but Brad Parnham goes on and she deserves one forgive run. CHERRY’S A STAR and PANDORA GIRL both come through the Fly With Caution race which has already held up as a form reference. Both come back to 1200m and both get the run they need. GRACE ROSE better suited here. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – RED TORI WIN RACE 6 SIMPLE LOGIC won a very similar race two starts back when beating Shaka Zulu and dual subsequent winner Defending. That day he drew barrier 1, sat box seat, pushed into the clear on straightening and came away for a strong win after being crunched in betting. Since then he’s gone to a 60+ Graduation and finished 1.3L off Sonoftheboss, Becalotti and Triple Jay. Nice set up for him. FOREST WAR beat home Exceltrain at Pinjarra over 1300m only two start back. Forget he went around last start when caught wide throughout. SPEED DREAM hasn’t seen a race of this nature for a long time but has 61.5kg. MEGA REWARD an improver. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – SIMPLE LOGIC WIN RACE 7 RICHANCO made an impression on debut when skipping away to win his maiden by over 3L. He is green and raw and still very new but from what we’ve seen at the trials and what we witnessed on race day he’s well and truly above average. Looks the kind of horse who can win a few in his early days. WEERAECHOUX trialled nicely at Lark Hill behind Generosity when allowed to work through his gears under little riding. All his form more than measures up and his only career win was first-up 1200 at Ascot. PROTÉGÉ was a brilliant maiden winner but that was now 606 days ago. WESTCOAST EXPRESS next best. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – RICHANCO WIN RACE 8 PROFIT POCKET could not have been more impressive last start. She was a month between runs from an Esperance maiden into a metro C1, she stepped from 1100m to 1400m, she went up 3kg in weight and regardless of all those perceived negatives – she destroyed them. Progressive mare and with the way Toni Triscari is going you’d be brave to take her on. CANGUU has won two of his last four and has an attractive racing pattern. Can sit on the tow ball of Rommel’s Jeuney. NORMA STARS continues to hit the line. DANCING CHOOSE finds a weak C3 but looks one paced. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – PROFIT POCKET WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,4 1,2,5 3,4,8 2,6 Market Market
