Scott Embry’s Sunday Pinjarra Preview Posted on February 24, 2023March 10, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 RUPERT’S EMPIRE ran second on debut behind Just Go, beating home multiple subsequent winners Aiyza, Major Max and maiden winners Red Hot Goods and The Great Hoya. At his second start he was annihilated in betting $2.80 into $1.50 but never travelled or looked comfortable when second to the stablemate. Recent trial was electric and he’s got big expectations on his shoulders. PSYCHIC SESSION resumes without a trial. Both Lark Hill trial wins leading into his debut were highly encouraging. FRANTIC WAR has been stiff in both runs this preparation. Blinkers go on and he deserves to break through. SPINIFEX FAIRY can give cheek against the outside fence. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – RUPERT’S EMPIRE WIN RACE 2 MADAM KISSES looks to have found a very winnable race. With Some Sort, Men’s Club and Famous Jurney likely to go quick in front Patrick Carbery can have the mare positioned off speed in the small field and waiting to make a run at them. She’s got a great turn of acceleration, she’s proven down the 1000m straight and she’s in the Keith Jeffrey’s Memorial. Would be a fitting result and given her last start effort in a 60+ Graduation behind Tadweer she looks the one to beat. QUEENSHIP is another get back sprinter who will have last crack at them. Bars on a concern. MEN’S CLUB is a proven straight 1000 commodity. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – MADAM KISSES WIN RACE 3 SANTA BRAE resumes without a trial and will have plenty of followers and watchers. Finished third behind My Bella Mae on debut in a 3 year old 0MWLY with 58kg (conceding her 3.5kg in the process) and then finished third to Bonjoy in a maiden before heading to the WA Guineas. Keep safe. CELEBRITY ICON finished second behind Planet Cash (now a 63+ winner and races in the Lex Piper Stakes on the weekend), finished second to Vonsnip after sweeping to the front and then was far from disgraced when only 4L off them in the 3 Year Old Magic Millions behind stablemate Man Crush. Ready to win one. NOTEWORTHY got to the line well at trials. ROYAL SPLENDOUR ran well on debut. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – SANTA BRAE WIN RACE 4 SHE’S IMMINENT put the writing on the wall on debut. She came through a 1000m trial at Belmont when hitting the line hard late and then was bursting through late over 1100m behind talented and well related filly Amber Glide. Think that’s a strong maiden she’s coming through and with the inside barrier and a senior rider she gets her chance at start number two. SUPPORTIVE was an excellent trial win and then ran home nicely in the wrong part of the track when third behind Too Dardy. Drawn a gate, senior rider on, logical danger. BECALOTTI has trialled like a filly with ability. Respect. HE’S ARCHIE has the services of W.Pike and has been going better than numerical form suggests. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – SHE’S IMMINENT WIN RACE 5 DIAMOND ROCKS only had one start as a 2 year old when finishing third behind Tiffany Street at 1100m. Won two Lark Hill trials (beating home Rear Admiral and Gage Roads in the process) as a 2 year old and her recent trial was strong enough to suggest that she’ll take catching at her Ike Racing debut. BORN AND BREAD may well look to hold her out early drawn the inside gate. Transfers stables mid-prep and gets out to 1200m. ZOUBOLTZ has a poor gate but is going well enough to make a run at them late. PRIVATE SAPLING has only had one trial but showed something. Numbers: 10 – 8 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – DIAMOND ROCKS WIN RACE 6 JURUENA GOLD has becoming a bit frustrating and costly to punters but this looks a great chance for him. First-up he ran third behind Digital Miss and impressive subsequent winner Pro Latte and then last start he drew barrier 12 of 12, settled a long way off them in running and hit the line from an impossible position. Gets out to a mile, drawn to settle midfield cover and deserves one more chance. ACE COMMAND was enormous last start. Never on the track and somehow kept coming. Really impressive effort. LOVA SESSION is drawn to get every chance tucked away behind the speed. RELIABLE QUEEN has run good races at her last two. Interesting to see William Pike not take the ride. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – JURUENA GOLD WIN RACE 7 SEA WAIF had a freshen from November to January and her last two runs have been noticeable improvements. Gave a big sight in front last start behind Guard The Safe, Romancing The Rock and Flower In The Wind who clash in a 60+ Graduation Saturday. Open race without any stars, going to roll the dice on her eachway. GREAT HEIST hasn’t drawn a barrier his last two starts and has done it too tough. Previous form was all strong. NINETYONE DWYER doesn’t win out of turn but when she draws to get a run forward of midfield with cover she invariably goes well. DOMINEER is going better than it reads. Down to only 52kg after the claim for Luke Campbell helps. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 6 – 11 Suggested Bet – SEA WAIF EACHWAY RACE 8 PHANTA was huge at this return to racing. Went around a well supported second favourite and was only nabbed on the post by Angelic Miss. Has missed a run in the Scenic Blast due to a stable mishap and so comes into this 29 days between outings. Always an unknown and an element of risk but he maps to get a gun run in and amongst the main fancies in betting and likely goes round eachway. SNIPAROOCHY sat up outside of Halatorion last start and went past him before being swamped by Our Bella Mae. Interesting to see if they’re content in the breeze again second-up. HALATORION is a query at the end of 1300m but proved his doubters wrong last start. He measures up at this level. HOT ZED needs an ounce of luck from the tricky alley. Numbers: 10 – 3 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – PHANTA EACHWAY RACE 9 LA DETTE broke maiden status beating home Too Dardy and Sizzle Me Patrick. With both of those gallopers winning at their next outing you couldn’t ask for a better maiden form reference. Last start went to a C1 and wasn’t disgraced behind Deetea and Awesome Rival. Think from the draw she gets the run of the race and looks hard to beat. DIGITAL MISS went from her maiden into a C1 and was there for a long way after crossing. Pike goes on and will have his usual loyal following. BEACH WEST can find the top and give cheek. DOUBLE DEMERITS has been trialling better than it looks. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – LA DETTE WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 3 1,2,5,6,9,10,11 1,2,3,5,9,10,11 1,3,4,5,6 Market Market
