Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Tips

CANNINGTON

Race 2 No. 5 Romantic Flame and No. 1 West On Jilliby (both place)

Let’s be really clear here. These two can’t really win unless something goes horribly wrong with the fav in 2. He’s a staying star on the rise and should win easily. These two can run placings however and must be included in places bets and exotics. Strong and stay all day. Can one or both at least hit the placings.

Race 4 No. 1 Momentum

Box everything here. This bloke is back somewhere near his best and can use the draw to drive up and grab the arm here. Superb run last start and has had no luck at all but gets every hope this time. His best chance to date. Major threat.

Race 7 No. 3 Raised

Has a monster engine this bloke. His Mandurah runs were out of this world and while he found trouble last week and did not come on, this has to be forgotten. Has too much talent and great map here to dismiss and if he smokes up behind the 2 and 4, we can finally see his best here and his best is very very good.

Race 10 No. 4 Pudding Monelli and No. 3 Garnett’s Gem

The 4 really should just win by default here. By far the strongest dog in the race that’s full of dogs who will struggle in the run home. He switches on, he wins. He can be untrustworthy however but is the best dog. The 3 will surprise at odds if he steps. He goes better than his form suggests and is worth a small saver EW. The 4 just has to bring his A game to win though.

THE MEADOWS

Race 4 No. 1 Greysynd Shock

Small field now allows him to get to his favoured middle part of the track. Can unleash some good sections and is under rated. Steps most days as well so can lead or come from back. Top two player with first turn luck.

Race 6 No. 5 Golden Quest and No. 4 Stagger Out Lee

(see preview on blog home page)

Race 7 No. 7 Great Guy and No. 8 Amron Dan

The 7 has all the weapons to blow these away if he offsets the box. Can do anything when he gets clear running and the draw is ok here. Very good dog. The 8 was unlucky in an Aust Cup heat. Suited to the step up now and goes very fast mid race. Can surprise. The 7 is the key play however.

Race 8 No. 1 Captain Larry and No. 3 Indy Fido

(see preview on blog home page)

Race 10 No. 9 Scofflaw

Gets a start from box 7 and while he needs luck to roll this fav, he can place at the big odds here. Has a great record here and can run time. Handles the draw and will march over with the 6 early and keep coming with a clear run. Place heavy play.

WENTWORTH PARK

Race 3 No. 6 Palawa King

Gets back but the draw is messy for some of these and he can get on to the back of them early. Big strong run home and only needs a clear crack at the top to hit the dais. Can win but should place with any luck

Race 8 No. 8 Rothwell Chunk

Boxed better now. Never got a look off the squeeze last week and enjoys an outside draw. Will muster up quickly but can also stick on and run a last section. EW price and will give a great sight if he gets around the first turn cleanly.
