Scott Embry’s Sunday Northam Preview Posted on October 2, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SAID NO ONE EVER was a really solid trial effort behind Notorious One (now two from two undefeated) and first-up was easily as good a run to the eye and to the clock as Outback Jack who has since franked the form. Doesn’t need to get any further back than one out and one back here and looks a really nice race for him. MOONLIGHT EXPRESS brings intrigue and unknown to the race. Had two starts last year in November at the Bool when going round favourite on both occasions and finishing midfield. Keep safe. MY DREAMALND didn’t display any brilliant turn of acceleration at trials but maps soft. WORTH A RISK is no star but honest and could find the top. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – SAID NO ONE EVER WIN RACE 2 SENTIMENTAL HERO looks to have found a brilliant race in which to make his debut. The most recent trial with blinkers on was excellent when going around in first gear and unable to get clear running at any stage when climbing over the back of them. From the draw he should be able to hold a position midfield with cover and you always get excited at this time of year when the Cerise and White are unveiling 3 year olds. NO SURRENDER looked like he needed the run first-up. Expecting Pateman to cross here and make them chase. FLETCHER ROAD ended up in an impossible position on debut but hit the line well. MAN OF THE OUR ran extremely well last start. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – SENTIMENTAL HERO WIN RACE 3 AIRLIE QUEEN has shown something at trials and gets her chance in an open and evenly graded all age maiden. Gets in with 54kg, shows enough early toe to find a position and she has chased hard at trials when getting clear air late. Looks to have ability. HOLYOAKE has really good race form to her name and her trials (both preparations) have been very impressive. No reason why she can’t lead and win. DARK CITY trialled the house down in blinkers and then raced first-up without them. Shades on here and has speed to burn. BLUE EYED GIRL had more to give at trials and still finished right in the thick of it. Numbers: 10 – 9 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – AIRLIE QUEEN WIN RACE 4 SOLAIA is an intriguing piece of placement by the astute Darren McAuliffe yard; C1 filly in a C3 1000m scamper. Gets in with absolutely no weight and her recent trial behind Laverrod and Chix Pic was outstanding. She matched motors with some genuine Saturday types in that trial and her juvenile feature form was strong. Takes beating here even out of her grade. EXPRESS TIME is a speedy mare who will be winning races. Solid effort first-up. SNIPPY MISS had a wonderfully consistent preparation when last in work. 1000m on the short side for her but she can chase from the inside. HIGHWAY GLOR won well last stat and seems to have turned a corner. Numbers: 9 – 4 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – SOLAIA WIN RACE 5 MIYAGI was ridden like the best horse in the race first-up and that’s exactly how it panned out when scoring. That form already reads well with progressive stayer Outback Jack winning and with any luck will be further enhanced if Said No One Ever runs well in the opener. She should take up a position from the draw and take beating. CORNFLOWER has now put together two very good runs back to back. Knocking on the door and wins one soon. BURN ONE DOWN is consistent but just lacks a real killer blow. VITAL FLIRT does a lot wrong and will be back in traffic but racing in career best. Numbers: 12 – 10 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – MIYAGI WIN RACE 6 ARAGAIN is a progressive mare who is going through the grades impressively. Five starts ago in a moderate C1 at Pinjarra smashed the clock and won in style beating subsequent winners Artie’s Jewels, Hoolahoops and Peri Peri Para. Went straight into a 0MWLY midweeker and again ran them ragged with the form holding up through Deception Game, Phoneme and Without Reason. Last start was arguably career best when wide the trip and going down narrowly to an inform stayer in Bonneville Black. Back in grade, back in trip and looks a great race for her. ARNIE’S BOY got the job done last start and once he finds form he holds it. He looks the testing material. FALION MACHINE was motoring through the line last start in an eye-catching effort. DECEPTION GAME will appreciate being on top of the ground. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – ARAGAIN WIN RACE 7 PLAYING RED won well on debut back in April and then didn’t fire a solitary shot at her next two outings. Her recent trial behind Stageman and Cup Night was impressive and she took that form to race day when she was held up until the 250 and flashed late (in the wrong part of the track) behind Carabinier. Drops back from a Westspeed Saturday race into a C1 and Adam Durrant/Clint Johnston-Porter are the inform combination of the new season. PASARAN looks to have a lot of ability and the recent trial was very encouraging. Nice use of the stable apprentice by Brett Pope and should hold a position. HIP WIGGLE was completely unsuited first-up behind a ridiculously slow tempo. NOT MY FIGHT tries hard and maps soft. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – PLAYING RED WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 4,9 10,12 2,3,4,6 1,3 Market Market
