Scott Embry’s Sunday Northam Preview Posted on September 28, 2018September 28, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 BARBIE WILL DO trialed the house down on two occasions this preparation and was very good when finding a mountain of trouble on debut. Should take natural improvement from that and as she steps out in trip will keep improving. SCENIC CHARM should roll straight to the top and was big on debut. She’s the logical danger. GESSATO is a nice enough animal but tends to do things wrong in the run. XAARMERIT is improving with racing. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – BARBIE WILL DO WIN Race 2 SOUNDS OF THEN is well related, a half to Art Series and trials show she has a stack of ability. Very hard to beat on debut and the horse who ran second in the trial Arcadia Queen is quoted as Bob Peter’s number 1 3 year old filly. MAGNATE STAR went very well on debut when working hard in the run and still fighting on to be beaten less than 3 lengths by the classy filly Mystery Miss and likely maiden winner later on the card in Cup Night. SHIP CREEK has been going well in moderate affairs. VAGABOND BOY trialed like he will break maiden status soon. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – SOUNDS OF THEN WIN Race 3 METRO BOY is perfectly placed as a 3 year old taking on the older horses. His form is simply lengths superior to rivals and he gets in brilliantly at the weights. Likely to jump deep in the red but should be too classy. APOLLO went extremely well fresh chasing speedster Time to Trade. He should run another honest placing. ME ‘N’ TAZ is a speedy type who could roll fresh. THE GOBLIN GLIDER found trouble last start and improves here. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – METRO BOY WIN Race 4 CUP NIGHT simply ran into a nice one first-up. There was nothing wrong with his run and Mystery Miss demolished Saturday opposition at $1.60 since then. Drawn to sit midfield and should be too strong. WAKAN TANKA was scratched from Saturday to be saved for this far more suitable assignment. Races on speed and is tough. COLOURFUL CHLOE went well first-up, just Dance Music is a serious type. MASCHINO MISS races off speed and comes with one late run. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – CUP NIGHT WIN Race 5 VELAGO has possibly been a shade disappointing on face value so far this preparation but that is only because there seems to be such a high expectation on a horse who has only won a York maiden. Blinkers on this looks his race. NEUROLOGICAL was scratched from Saturday to be saved for this and Pike is drawn the cutaway. ENCONIMUM can find the front and run them along at odds. JESTER FERRARI is always one for the novelties. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – VELAGO WIN Race 6 SHOUHOU put together two big runs on heavy8 tracks to start her preparation and then went into a Saturday where she looked a little out classed on paper, however, she was the target of big bets from smart punters and this race is far easier. LUCKY LINDA LULU never runs a bad race, she is honest and consistent and always around the mark. JUPITER CALLING is drawn to improve and Pike goes on. MOUQUET can run a cheeky race just behind the speed. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – SHOUHOU WIN Race 7 FAIRY FAST is one from one and this race is arguably easier opposition than what she met in her maiden victory down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra. Is drawn the cutaway and should be making it two from two. FANCY STREET can run a race first-up here and looks the danger on paper. MISS MANDY is a maiden but not impossible at odds. MORE BXAAR gets in races and Jason Whiting looks the perfect engagement to wind up down the middle. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet: FAIRY FAST WIN Race 8 THE BIG SHOW has form which is far superior to rivals and if he brings anywhere near his best he should be winning this by a space. First-up effort was strong and he has been back to trials since so fitness shouldn’t be an issue and blinkers go on. Short but sweet. POWERCRAFT is always capable of running a drum. MOTORVATOR goes back and runs on late. BLACK SMUGGLER could improve if he finds the front. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet: THE BIG SHOW WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 3 3,4,9 5 2 Market Market
