Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on July 5, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview RACE 1 BIG RANSOM has had plenty of cracks at it, but he looks to have his foot firmly on the till. He was held up at all the wrong stages last time out and with a wider draw today can settle midfield and come with one run. SCREAM IN BLUE comes out of the same race and while he was afforded much more luck than his rival, his run was just as good. Will be short. THE BLACK JEEP has a win in him but needs all the breaks. If he strips as fit as his trainer he’ll go close. SOLOMON CAIN is bred to want this trip and further. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet: BIG RANSOM WIN RACE 2 LITTLE FLIRT gets another go. Was keen on this fellow last week where things didn’t go completely to plan. Look for her to elevate off the 7day break and get another wonderful chance to break maiden status. FIRST STRIKE finally draws a gate and it would be no surprise to see her get a split late and win. EASINGTON has always shown ability and recent trial suggests he might be one to keep an eye on. NICKLAUS certainly isn’t one you’d like to go to war with but can figure in the finish if he wants too. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet: LITTLE FLIRT EACHWAY RACE 3 PARADISE SQUARE was 2nd up off 7 days and settled towards the tail of the field in what was a forgive run. Suspect Lucy Warwick will settle much handier to the speed and he can bounce back into the winner’s list. HAPPY HARRY returns to the Goldfields after an underwhelming metropolitan campaign. He does his best work at this track and is the class runner so expect him to be hard to beat. PEGATEGO found his best form last time out and leads this race uncontested. IT’S DYNAMITE was well handled by Kate Witten to score in this grade and while this looks tougher she has shown she is up to them. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet: PARADISE SQUARE WIN RACE 4 LADY LE JEAN generally starts under the odds and isn’t one you’d want to rely on to pay the rent but it’s hard to argue with how well she is going and once again maps to be right in the thick of the finish. BOLLYWOOD LASS was an impressive maiden winner in a race which the form has already been franked. Looks a nice progressive filly for Craig Wright. QUIRKY GIRL is always a hope in this grade but has been plagued by bad barriers of recent times. NEMIROFF likely burns across to find the front and can be a sharp improver. Will be support for Nemi. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet: LADY LE JEAN WIN RACE 5 LENNON’S SONG is another handy edition to the Cambana Lodge team. This is a huge drop in class and if Lucy Warwick can find cover from the draw she can make it a winning debut for MR Peter Fernie. Could be a rough hope as a Cups horse. COCKY DODD hasn’t gone an inch on the rain affected tracks. If he can reproduce his best form on top of the ground, he simply wins. THE REAL SEPOY was an impressive winner only 7 days ago and there is nothing to suggest he can’t make it back to back wins. WHISPERING JACK is drawn awkwardly but has a handy turn of foot. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet: LENNON’S SONG WIN RACE 6 GANGBUSTER backs up after a brave effort where only being nailed late by Monash. Early tactics will be crucial here from the wide draw, but regardless of whether connections decide to go forward or back he looks the horse to beat. PALMA MERENTI has been a nice addition to Neville Newtons team and again looks a strong winning hope. BARTRADER has enjoyed a consistent campaign and this looks another winnable assignment. MAJOR MAMBO bounces to the front and always proves hard to run down. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet: GANGBUSTER WIN RACE 7 HAYAN LAD is another backing up after a meritorious effort last week. His two runs this time in suggest he has come back brilliantly and while he likely breezes under the 60kgs he looks the one here. CARD KNIGHT ticks boxes, first up and back under the care of veteran trainer George Grljusich. CARRANYA LASS has finished on the heels of some slick types and that form looks suitable for a race of this nature. FAIR JOY will bowl along out in front and this should suit his racing pattern. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet: HAYAN LAD WIN Quaddie (Races 4 – 7) 2,3,4,5 1,2,5 1,2,3,9 1,4,7,9 Market Market
