Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on May 30, 2025May 30, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SNAKERATTLENROLL had her first start for new trainer Justin A. Robins and finsihd third behind Karnup Queen (since won a C1) and Classic Code (since won a maiden). Was a month between runs so should only strip fitter. VERVAIN went around 150-1 on debut when beaten under 4L by The Calabrese, Cassenite and Top Of The Walk. That’s not bad form at all for a 1200m country maiden in Kalgoorlie, especially from a nice barrier. No stars in this and might be able to pinch it. NICCONAMI also comes through a race that’s considerably harder, Mt Shirataku has since toyed with C3 rivals. STRYKER’S GAL has promised to win one her entire career. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – SNAKERATTLENROLL WIN RACE 2 THINK LIKA WINNER is an 18 start maiden but of those runs he has contested 8x 2 & 3 year old Saturdays, 6x 2 & 3 year old metro Midweekers and only 4 maidens. In those 4 maiden outings he has placed on two occasions and will no doubt find the country maiden scene even weaker again. Barrier 1, Tash Faithfull, weakest race of his career – looks the time to break through. SAINTY CULLITY does a lot wrong and so Lucy Fiore will be worth lengths to him. KING OF FRANCE gave plenty of cheek last week. ICANDOIT ONMYOWN is getting close now. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – THINK LIKA WINNER WIN RACE 3 SURE THING is drawn barrier 1, BAALBEK is drawn barrier 7 – that has to be advantage SURE THING. He has been nothing short of a revelation since heading to WA and joining Dave Smith going from a maiden to a 58+ winner in the space of 4 months and now has his first crack at 70+ company. Don’t see a reason why 1300m would stop him (won by 3L at Esperance over that distance with 59kg) and he should be in front a long way. BAALBEK might be stretched late at the distance? ZING TO WIN goes gangbusters at Kal and if the leaders overcook it has a strong finishing sprint. REIGN OF FIRE improves second-up. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – SURE THING WIN RACE 4 FLOBA was career best last weekend. He stalked the every move of Love Drunk Baby and then sailed past him impressively. They meet again 7 days later and while he conceds a 1.5kg weight swing and is drawn outside of him it’s hard to argue with the manner in which he won. Gone to a new level this prep. LOVE DRUNK BABY does less work early, gets weight on him and comes back to 1100m. No surprise to see him bounce back and turn the tables. IMAPAGETHREE GIRL has her first start for Mack Hall and rates up really well. WINEACLOCKSUMWHERE next best. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – FLOBA WIN RACE 5 SCIENCE DEGREE is a great apprentices horse and should be right in the tick of things again here. Won a C2 1100m first-up and then went to a C5 when jumping under $5 in a race containing Treble Maker and subsequent winner Sure Thing. Was run down late last start by Dublin Red but lost no admirers and Natika Riordan is getting more confident and capable with each race ride. Leading or breezing can win. DREAM BROOK has the Sure Thing form which could stand up in 70+ company in Race 3. JAZALOT is better than what he produced last week. DIEGO DYNAMITE trialled up well for his return and was unsuited going back. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – SCIENCE DEGREE WIN RACE 6 DREAMTIME JEAN resumed first-up over 1100m and couldn’t get anywhere near the top in a fast run race behind Sure thing. Second-up Peter Fernie has found a 1400m race for him and engaged the services of 4kg Hong Kong claiming apprentice Jefferson Tsang. He only needs to turn the clock back to this time last year when he was winning his way through the grades impressively. DUBLIN RED was back to his best last start gunning down Science Degree who could frank the form in Race 5. KAKADU has been in form all season and gets a soft run. QUEENS SACRIFICE continues to run better than her SP. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 2 – 12 Suggested Bet – DREAMTIME JEAN WIN RACE 7 JUST SUBLIME was super last start behind Dublin Red and Science Degree is a form reference race which is on Show in Race 5 & and Race 6. Expect it will look increasingly impressive as the day goes on and from the draw she can enjoy a much better run in transit. ON JUST TERMS gets a 1.kg weight swing on Keep A Knockin’ for a 1L defeat and gains the services of Lucy Fiore. The market is understandably showing Lucy enormous respect, especially in Kal. KEEP A KNOCKIN’ was luckless two back and then got the job done impressively last start this track/distance/grade. Can win again. HAND ME DOWN a watch at his WA debut. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – JUST SUBLIME WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,4 1,3,4 1,2,7 4 Market Market
