Scott Embry’s Sunday Albany Preview Posted on May 9, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 DEFIANTLY has hit a rich vein of form. The two wins were excellent and the form has stacked up well. Last start got well out of her ground and was unable to reel the leaders in. The effort was enormous and she looks the perfect Lucy Warwick horse. WAR JEUNE, BOXONLUCY and MR PAGO are all in form and all around the same mark. The four of them fight it out. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – DEFIANTLY WIN Race 2 NAVY BLUE could be the start of a nice day for both Lucy and Martin Allan. Good run last start in Saturday grade and while he can be hard to catch, if he turns up he can definitely out stay them. SAXON SAXOFF loves to run them along and if Brandon Louis breaks them open he’ll be hard to reel in. NOT AGAIN KEN mixes his form like cocktails but can’t be discounted. GAUGED loves it in the great Southern and is rarely far from the winner. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – NAVY BLUE WIN Race 3 CLEO’S AFTERPARTY has recently returned to form, the win two starts ago was strong and then last start finished fifth in a stronger race than this. Distance a slight query but racing well. BENTLEY’S BROTHER has made more unfulfilled promises than both the Liberals and Labor this preparation. Always looks the right race for him but can’t deliver. JIMMY RAPID looks just about ready to run a race at a price. SORAMIMI looked unsuited dropping back in trip last start. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – CLEO’S AFTERPARTY WIN Race 4 HE’S A GUNSLINGER was left a sitting duck to be run down in a midweek metro maiden first-up this preparation after a freshen. He was strong in defeat and this race is weak. He is likely odds on but should be winning. SASTA is capable of causing the upset with the right run in transit. UNIVERSAL VAIN can improve off his debut. REGAL REBELLE was money poorly spent last start when failing to fire a shot. Numbers: 5 – 9 – 8 – 11 Suggested Bet – HE’S A GUNSLINGER WIN Race 5 TRANQUILLA SUNRISE has been in sensational form for months now and continues to race with great heart. He was a gallant effort in defeat last time out when gunned down late by a classy type. Leads this and hard to run down. DE ANDES is an enigma. His best is good enough. His worst is C1 material. OUR BUDDY BOY went well fresh. SIR SNUGALOT is in the right race to run a big one. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – TRANQUILLA SUNRISE WIN Race 6 ONE POINT LADY was backed as if unbeatable last start and duly saluted. This race is no harder and reproducing that run sees the 3 year old win again. SEA SPRING has put together two strong performances since resuming. Drawn ideally, the danger. COSTA OESTE has impressed since returning to the stables of Paul Hunter. DYNAMITE BAY has shown nothing since an encouraging debut performance. Improver at odds. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – ONE POINT LADY WIN Race 7 TRIGGERFISH was a big drifter in the market first-up when well thought of. May have needed the run and with the engagement of an in form apprentice carries a very winnable weight. ROUND THE POINT is ultra consistent and rarely finishes more than a length or two from the winner. HUMANITY could prove a nice pick up for the Mark Wright yard. Expect him to go round weekly and stretch out over ground. LONG KNIFE BROTHER is racing well and draws a gate to sit closer. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – TRIGGERFISH WIN Race 8 MAGIC OPUS is fairly fool proof. He can sit close handy, he can sit off them, whichever way Jason Whiting elects to ride him he looks an eachway bet to nothing. He is in form and racing as well as anything in the field. READ THE RIOT ACT ran into a progressive Steve Wolfe horse last start. The effort was strong but he will again need luck. SCANDAL MAKER has thrived since joining the Mark Wright stable. THERE AT FIVE capable of sprinting over them with a soft run. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 1 6 Suggested Bet – MAGIC OPUS EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 -8) 4 4,7,8 1,2,3,6 1,2,6,7,11 Market Market
