Scott Embry’s Saturday Kununurra Preview Posted on August 24, 2023August 24, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 JIMMY’S SECRET looks to be getting closer and closer and in the 4 horse field he gets his opportunity in the first race of the season at Kununurra. Third behind Yankee Lima and Rhythm Star at Broome over 1800m and then third behind Lutz and Rhythm Star at Broome on Cup Day over 2020. Backs up off 7 days and should run well. DIP ME LID has been racing in better quality of outings than this. MANGIONE is deep into his preparation at start 13 of the campaign. KINGS STAR should lead and Dick Leech dominated last season. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – JIMMYS SECRET WIN RACE 2 BART’S BULLET has found form again. Peter Farrell transfers him across to Chris Pollard and he backs up off 7 days from another impressive win on Cup Day at Broome. All of a sudden he’s jumping better and he’s gunning for a third straight win. Won on Ladies Day, Cup Day and now backing up again. Hard to beat. BOOM BOOM SWEET is a last start winner of an RB66 1600 after sitting wide throughout and proving too strong. Danger. KIPPAX should finish third. KARAOKE EXPRESS should finish fourth. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – BART’S BULLET WIN RACE 3 STAGE FRONT won last start in a BM69 in Darwin. He now drops back in grade into a 56+ and rises 7kg up. Has to carry 64kg but he’s got a big class edge on these. He went around in a WFA last preparation behind Savatoxl. If he can carry the weight, he should be simply too good. HONG KONG FIGHTER has speed to burn and likely leads this field. GLENAUREEN is hard to catch because he’s got no early tactical speed. MAGNOLIA ROSE won four back. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – STAGE FRONT WIN RACE 4 DELAGO LAD has finished third at two of his last three behind Kent Street in Darwin. They’ve all been RB62 rated races and he now drops 5.5kg after the claim for Lek Maloney and carries a postage stamp weight. Think that he can kick through to lead this and try to pinch it. PRINCE OF MERCIA is the class runner and the 63kg is the only minor query. Won by 2L with 62kg in C2 1100 first-up so the weight shouldn’t stop him. Logical danger. REAL DIVINE has been racing consistently. RAFFALLI won well at Kununurra last season. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – DELAGO LAD WIN RACE 5 IREMEMBEWHEN has his second start for Russell Bell and his second start on the dirt. He missed away at Darwin at his first run with 61kg and then found the line well to run third. Considering he won his maiden on speed and a C1 at Moe leading throughout he should be a nice dirt animal. Shades go on and drops 7kg. TOPPA THE MOUNTAIN is quick and he was able to hold off the challenge of Here No Cash at Broome last Saturday. THROW AT DA STUMPS won well first-up and second-up. POCKET PISTOL was able to control last start. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – IREMEMBERWHEN WIN RACE 6 MUTANY has his first start for Dick Leech and has blinkers added for the first time. Alan Kennedy has taken the ride at 56kg which could be an indication that he’s worth following. This is a woefully weak race so no surprise to see a maiden pinch it. THE GIRLS BOY is a winner and on the fresh side can bounce out into a prominent position. DEREKS REGRET should nearly lead them from the outside. GREATEST DESTINY found his feet on the dirt late in the Broome season. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – MUTANY WIN RACE 7 GARRUCHA should be too quick for rivals here over 1100m. Won a 1200m maiden at Alice Springs by 7L in March and then again lead them a merry dance in a BM66 in April winning by 4.5L. Since then he hasn’t quite been at the same level but this is a massive drop in grade and he carries no weight after the Lek Maloney claim. Looks a decent day for the Maloney-Bell combination. CITY OF SIN has been improving with each dirt outing. NEW ROMAN is suited back into this class. HATTAN MAN ran well fresh but is now a 10 year old. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – GARRUCHA WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,4 1,2,3 1,2,5 3 Market Market
