Scott Embry’s Saturday Geraldton Preview Posted on March 19, 2021March 19, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ROBYN’S SON is a 23 start maiden but does boast 7 minor placings and the most recent of them was only being gunned down in the final stride by Firebrace who was the beneficiary of a Troy Turner corner cutting special. Keshaw Dhurun should take him straight to the front and from there he is the one to beat. RETURN TO OZ should only improve off what he produced in the same race. LEAD GUITAR can improve sharply after a lack lustre performance. PLAYING UP brings the alternate form and often that’s the best form. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – ROBYN’S SON WIN RACE 2 REGAL SUN has his first start for a new stable after leaving JP Taylor racing and joining the powerful Midwest yard of Graeme Hammarquist. Capable of working across from a wide gate and some of his runs in town are strong enough to go very close in a weak Geraldton maiden. CAN’T STOP NOW finds a new home and his recent trial behind Big Screen and Kaptain Kaos wasn’t bad. ENTERPRISE ran a few handy races at odds when last in work. MACHALI ran better first-up in WA than second-up. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – REGAL SUN WIN RACE 3 KENYLUCK is a Geraldton lead and win specialist. In races where he is allowed to find the front, control the speed and kick into the corner he is very hard to run down. Again looks like he can burn to the top and you know what you’ll get from him. SUPREME FORCE has strong form to his name but hasn’t been seen since January of 2020. If he shows up he’s hard to beat. PROFIT STREET has an enormous weight to carry but he hasn’t raced outside Listed/Group/78+/72+ metro races for 5 years. MINUS LOOKS an improver. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – KENYLUCK WIN RACE 4 STATRADE has hit some form since heading up to the Midwest. Big winner in C2 grade at his first start in the region when winning by over 2L over Old Bailey and Jevelation. Old Bailey has since won in Esperance and Narrogin and Jevelation won a 58+ last start. Startrade drops from that exact 58+ back into a C2 and after the claim looks very hard to beat. SIGNIFICANT HERO was an impressive first-up winner and if he can hold form (which has been an issue for him) he’ll be hard to hold out. ALL THE JULZ has tapered off a little after running some big races earlier in the preparation. MISS MANDY should be a handy acquisition for Tania Guy. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – STARTRADE WIN RACE 5 HIGHEST REGARD has only had the one run this preparation, on 18 December at 1400m first-up no trial when sitting back and zapping handy 58+ opposition. No idea whether he is deliberately kept fresh or if he’s had set backs behind the scenes so it’s hard to tip with confidence but if he can reproduce that fresh run he’ll be hard to beat in this. SADLERS HILLS has come back a few cogs in ratings and is back in winnable races. SAKARYA is fresh and back in trip. If Dhurun finds the front she’ll give a sight. WILDONBROOK will need luck from the draw. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – HIGHEST REGARD WIN RACE 6 DELAGO DEHERO was allowed to roll by Jerry Noske last start at 1400m and stepping out to 1600m he should get an even softer lead. If he can pinch a cheap section or two before being allowed to roll through his gears he might just take some catching. Seems to be improving with racing. GINGER WILLIE finds it awfully hard to win races but his overall form is super and he has raced very consistently. OLIVIA KNOWS was jumping out of the ground late last start. FRIAR TUCK is better suited back in Geraldton. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – DELAGO DEHERO EACHWAY RACE 7 ARABIAN RICHES is a highly consistent and honest type. Steps out to a mile where he has won at Geraldton previously and with a weight swing on Fetch More Ammo from their encounter in Feb and his form behind Bombay Style and Quality Fair in a 70+ at his most recent he does look more than capable. STRONG HEART is fresh and back in trip after carrying big weights in staying races recently. FETCH MORE AMMO is very hard to knock. Loves the track and is a noted winner. BIG SHOT PADDY is building into the campaign. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – ARABIAN RICHES WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3 1,4,5,6,8 1,4,6,7,8 2,4,5 Market Market
