Scott Embry’s Saturday Esperance Preview Posted on February 14, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 TRACE SEA is a 15 start 5 year old maiden which probably says a little about the depth of this field. Has had two starts for Freddo Brown and both have been strong. Kyra Yuill is the region’s leading rider and the combination look every chance of uniting for another win. KENNY THE KING trialed quite well at Bunbury only beaten 2.5L. Could run a cheeky race on debut. HYDROXIDE is going alright. GRAND OPENING getting closer. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – TRACE SEA WIN Race 2 SAMMY THE BOSS was a strong winner of a C5 two starts ago and while he only beat King’s Authority he did it in style with 61kg and in very strong time. He has always looked a 68+ type and backs up off 7 days from a reasonable effort in the metro area. Nice race for him. SHADY GRAY is a star. To lump 63.5kg on speed over a mile last start was one of the bigger runs Esperance will see this season (and next). Great ride for Kate Southam. ALI BARBER tasted defeat last start but should get a better run from the inside. PENALTY POINT broke back through after putting the writing on the wall. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – SAMMY THE BOSS WIN Race 3 DRIFTWOOD GIRL can mix her form a little bit but charged through the line at her most recent behind Sammy The Boss and King’s Authority. Previous win was electric over It’s Dynamite and she usually goes round at an eachway quote to find out which Driftwood Girl turns up. KING’S AUTHORITY was backed into $1.50 last start. He has not won a race since his debut as a 2 year old 1000 days ago. Punters Plz. LADY LE JEAN won well last start. If she can bring some consistency into her racing she’ll win a few more. SCOTTY TOO HOTTY a mad one on the minimum. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – DRIFTWOOD GIRL WIN Race 4 DEEL RED looks a great ride for Madi Derrick who has got her riding career off to a flyer. 53.5kg after the claim and from the gate should bounce straight to the front. From there he is the one to run down and should give backers a grand sight. ALL MAN is yet to really fire this preparation but should be just about ready. PRINCE HAL went back to the inferior going last start and still finished powerfully. ARNIE’S PRIDE bolted in last start. Could have turned a corner but has 59 to lump which is a harsh reality of the maiden to C1 ratings system. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – DEEL RED WIN Race 5 UNIVERSAL MAE simply loves Esperance. Her efforts in the metro area all had merit and she raced without luck on a number of occasions. Back to Esperance and she duly saluted. No reason why she can’t make it 6 wins from 11 starts at her favourite track. BARRY’S RABBIT is a big query on the back-up. The last 3 times he has backed up he has raced particularly flat. KEEPER MEAN is eligible for easier but going well. INJECT THE VENOM 2 weeks away from his grand final. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – UNIVERSAL MAE WIN Race 6 SCREAM IN BLUE could get under the radar to an extent. Strong winner over Driftwood Girl and Sound of Fury first-up, raced flat on the day when MR Peter Fernie had to travel 198 hours to get to Esperance and then a shade unlucky last start. NICKLAUS was very good fresh in a race which was almost 6L faster than average. He should be very hard to beat. BUFF MAN needs luck but going well. SOUND OF FURY can bounce back with the right run. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – SCREAM IN BLUE WIN Race 7 BENTLEY’S BROTHER travelled like the winner for the entire race at his most recent. Always showed ability for Steve Wolfe but looks like he has improved a couple of lengths for Helen Harding. Drawn to get a gun run three back the fence and racing well. RECAPITULATE has been knocking on the door and won well last start when looking the winner throughout. Great use of the 4kg claim. WORLD IS YOURS is getting very close to breaking through. SALVARA flying but drawn in the caravan park. Numbers: 5 – 14 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – BENTLEY’S BROTHER WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,4,5 2,4 1,2 1,3,4,5,11,13,14 Market Market
