Michael Heaton’s Saturday Broome Preview Posted on June 11, 2026June 11, 2026 | Posted by Michael Heaton RACE 1 SEMPRE is from the flying Jody McLaughlin yard (5 wins and 6 placings from 21 Broome runners so far this season) and looks ready to win. He hit the line powerfully first up over 1000m, reeled off the fastest closing sectionals of the meetings last week over 1100m and now steps to the more suitable 1300m. OLE GRAND was well backed first up and can improve sharply if he’s able to roll forward. HARD TO TOP ran a big race at $81 last week and can ride the speed again here. ARTIC SNOW was an alarming drifter first up and ran accordingly. Natural improver at his second start on the dirt and stepping up to 1300m. Numbers: 4-5-6-8 Suggested Bet – SEMPRE WIN RACE 2 FINADO trialled up well then dominated in a sharp maiden win first up last week. He now has to step into C2 company and also rises 1.5kg in weight but he ran a faster time than the 50+ event on the same day and looks the likely leader again. THE TOP BAR has been solid at his 2 runs back this preparation and is suited by the drop in grade but he’s drawn sticky with good speed to his inside. SOLAR SYSTEM has an off-speed racing pattern which makes the inside draw awkward but he’s hit the line better than anything lately and the extra 100m suits. OUTLAW MUSIC a big watch at his first start on the dirt. Numbers: 2-5-4-3 Suggested Bet – FINADO WIN RACE 3 NOW YOU SEE ME looks a type capable of rocketing through the grades this Broome season. His first start on the dirt was an emphatic win in quick time and he now stays at the same track/grade/distance whilst drawing to lead again. UNIVERSAL PLAYBOY resumes with 60.5kg but is a proven commodity in this grade and at this track. Can he cross Now You See Me? MAJESTUOSO PHOENIX was a nice run first up at his WA debut and is a lightly-raced 4YO who should be a handy pick up for Darryn Pateman. ROMMEL’S GODDESS has her first start on the dirt and profiles like a horse who will suit Broome racing. Numbers: 4-1-7-2 Suggested Bet – NOW YOU SEE ME WIN RACE 4 Tricky race. CHEVAL SARVANT was a great run off a 51-day freshen last week when making big late ground to finish a narrow second. He now drops back from a 58+ to a 50+ and steps up to the much more suitable mile. ACES TO WIN has been solid at his first 2 starts back and is another who will appreciate the extra furlong. BEATS OF WAR resumes and could end up a Broome Cup contender for SJ Miller. STREET MASCHINO steps up sharply in trip at his second run back off 7 days but he’s a highly consistent Broome horse and can ride the speed. Numbers: 3-11-1-6 Suggested Bet – CHEVAL SARVANT WIN RACE 5 CRUISE TO VICTORY broke the 1200m track record by an incredible 0.57sec in his 8.6L demolition last Saturday and he looks the one again. He only rises 1.5kg, the extra 100m won’t worry him and he has the speed to work across from his sticky draw. COMMISSIONS won 3 of his last 4 starts at Broome last season and gets into this with only 51.5kg after young gun Jason Li’s claim. ROEY CLAIM ran (a distant 11L) fourth to Cruise To Victory first up, gets a 5.5kg swing on him and should be on-speed again. LET’SDEAL a watch at his first start for Anthony Barton and as the distances increase. Numbers: 2-6-12-5 Suggested Bet – CRUISE TO VICTORY WIN RACE 6 ZORBRIST was arguably the run of the meeting last week when making enormous late ground down the outside of the track to finish a half-second second. He unfortunately has a horrible gate to contend with here but he now drops 2.5kg staying in the same grade after Jason Li’s claim and the step to 1435m is ideal. Conversely, DELICATE RULER looks a potential query at 1435m but he’ll roll forward from his awkward draw and can still give a good sight on-speed. LUCKY LANDING resumes from the extreme outside barrier but is a consistent Broome horse and has finished top 2 at 4 of his 6 first-up starts. AROUND THE BUOY is a staying type making his WA debut and should be doing his best work late. Numbers: 5-8-4-7 Suggested Bet – ZORBRIST WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,4 1,2,3,4,5,6,8,11,12 2,6 4,5,7,8 Market Market
