Glenn Ingram’s Saturday Sandown Preview Posted on June 11, 2026June 11, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 Good race for (7) STARS OF DOM to repeat her excellent debut run, scratched from Flemington last week she returns to 1000m chute at Sandown and has the booking of a strong, in-form rider in Damien Thornton. MBUBE looks smart, under covers at the jumpouts hitting the line strong. One niggle is sire Rubick, a letdown. Punting stable, watch betting. ANGELIC RISE went straight to the front and was left alone to win at Ballarat, form out of the race, early speed is a bonus. RIVER BALLAD has jumped out well to debut. Selections: 7,4,6,5 Suggested Bet: STARS OF DOM win exotics with MBUBE RACE 2 No great opinion. BRILLIANT HORIZON is the obvious with an impressive first-up, the challenge for this stable always getting them to improve on the fresh run, the barrier means he will work early. LOVEYAMORE could improve at his second run back, specked at odds first-up. LUCKY SINGLE should continue to improve with racing which is standard for the stable. So too RACE FOR RULE from the Griffiths yard recent maiden winner. Selections: 2,7,12,8 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 3 The heavily punted FIRST CHORUS showed off her versatility to switch pattern last start ridden quiet to suit the track. She’s come back super and handles all track conditions, wide gate no knock, tough to beat again. Sydneysider HUSH HUSH creates intrigue, hard to line up, in the right camp to be switching and winning. PERFTECT TEN and STREET LARK are both racing well. PULA been up longer than stonehenge but holding her good form. Selections: 1,8,5,10 Suggested Bet: FIRST CHORUS win RACE 4 CLEVER TREVOR much like the stable is airborne. Smashed in the betting at Bendigo and again at Caulfield, he’s been well-placed to date and again looks the one to beat. BARBARINO was professional at the jumpouts and that found him a Ballarat maiden win. BLANKFIELD is in form and has a big finishing burst, negative racing style, hard to pot him, wait and see what the track pattern like on race-day. CARDAMON adds spice to the affair. Selections: 2,9,5,13 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 5 Smallish field, not keen to bet. EL ROCKO has sole control of the map as per usual, needs it wet again. GRID GIRL can challenge for the lead but they may have to fly Nash Rawiller down to get it done. BOLTSAVER is a mudder on the quick back-up, he’s on weather watch. COUER VOLANTE has class and could improve with the run under the belt. Even race. Selections: 4,7,9,3 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 6 Good speed early. LANDMARK trialled well and ran accordingly at the Heath, he has a good turn of foot and will love the expected fast tempo, keen on him to win. BAZABALL REWARD at 1000m appeals but the pressure? The lightly-tried CICALA building a good profile, resumes, whether this is the target, his class may get her there. ACTUALITY has a nice light weight but there’s every chance she will look the winner and back away from the winning post. Selections: 14,10,15,16 Suggested Bet: LANDMARK win RACE 7 The best of the day is SIMURGH a progressive staying import now unbeaten since arrival, can do it off both slow and fast speeds and should keep improving. Great placement. SKIPPERS CANYON has been mixing his pattern this prep, waiting until the blinkers go back on to find him. BLACK RUN will get a soft lead and wetter the better for him. KHOR is a more genuine horse as he gets older, fit and in-form. Outside chance. Selections: 5,7,1,3 Suggested Bet: SIMURGH win RACE 8 Another good race for MAKDANE who was well found to win last start, likely to go forward on-speed and unlikely that they go quick. GILDED WATER was putrid fresh but found to have a genuine excuse, the money was on and the jumpouts were impressive. The record of EIPH form reversals is tempting. Can win without me. If there is extra speed in the race then AFTERMATH comes into play as a backmarker with good closing speed. Selections: 8,4,3,6 Suggested Bet: MAKDANE win RACE 9 Incredibly hard finish, cross fingers in the quaddie. SOUGHT AFTER can run a big race with the speed on, won a moderate Bm70 at Murray Bridge last start, not sure we’ve seen the best of him so could improve further for another win. THEBELMONTGANGSTER has been disappointing this prep, showers on the day could improve chances. CHANGINGCOLOURS a blowout hope, claim could signal intent first-up, does like to get back and sneak up on them. Watch betting. Selections: 2,14,6,15 Suggested Bet: SOUGHT AFTER 1 x 3 Market Market
