Michael Heaton’s Friday Carnarvon Preview Posted on June 10, 2026June 10, 2026 | Posted by Michael Heaton RACE 1 ORDASHUS joins the high strike-rate yard of Zach Tyler and could be a worthwhile acquisition if he’s able to reproduce some of his runs last winter and early spring. He has the tactical speed to be able to work his way to the top here if he handles his first start on the dirt and from there he could give a big sight in this company. ALL KING has been good at his first 2 starts in Carnarvon and Aaron Pateman tinkers with the 4YO’s gear again to find the right fit. He looks ready to break through. ROYAL RIVIERA an improver at her second run on the dirt. SWISHGOBANGO likely needs further. Numbers: 1-4-7-2 Suggested Bet – ORDASHUS EACH-WAY RACE 2 COSTA STAR is a 23-start maiden but she’s placed at 3 of her past 4 starts and was particularly good last start. She’s knocking on the door and should settle prominently in the run again. REINCARNATED joins the yard of Aaron Pateman and was solid on debut at York. He gets blinkers for the first time and can ride the speed for a long way. RIVER BEAUTY was a much better run last start and Jason Li has hit the ground running early in his riding career. WILD GOSSIP will be doing her best work late. Numbers: 5-3-8-10 Suggested Bet – COSTA STAR WIN RACE 3 CORN COB has the profile to make a great north-west horse. He’s the winner of 12 races and almost $450k, rides the speed and is extremely well weighted after the claim when you consider he’s dropped around 20 rating points from his career peak. He was good last start at Roebourne and will be hard to beat if he can bounce on-speed. URBAN WARRIOR has hit the line as well as anything at his first 2 runs back and will appreciate the step to 1400m. THE COOLAKIN KING should settle in the first 2 here and can return to form quickly. BIGDAYONIT an improver at his second run on the dirt. Numbers: 1-8-2-4 Suggested Bet – CORN COB WIN RACE 4 KUNAPIPI is brilliantly weighted after young gun Jason Li’s claim and strikes a race she can work to the top in. She gets a massive 6kg swing on Undercover Sniper for finishing <1.5L third to him 2 starts back and drops 3.5kg from her last start where she beat home all 5 of the rivals she faces again here. WHAT ABOUT MOI is well placed having reeled off the fastest last 400m and 200m splits of the meeting at his first Carnarvon run last start and now drops in grade. SWEXAN won with a leg in the air at this track/distance last time out and should be on-speed again. THE KING’S UNCLE was never in the hunt first up from a lengthy break but if he jumps cleanly he can improve sharply up to 1400m. Numbers: 6-5-4-1 Suggested Bet – KUNAPIPI WIN RACE 5 WEAPONS HOT crossed from barrier 11 of 11 to lead them up with 60kg last start and was gunned down late in the fastest 1200m race of the season so far. He now drops back to 1000m, drops 2kg and should find the top a bit easier. SHOOTING KONTIKI was a strong winner at this track/grade/distance second up and only rises 1.5kg. PRECAST was solid at her first Carnarvon run in that race and gets a 1.5kg swing on Shooting Kontiki. VERSAILLE has been a handy pick up for Ron Cowl Jnr and has the right racing pattern to make a handy Carnarvon horse. Numbers: 2-1-8-4 Suggested Bet – WEAPONS HOT WIN RACE 6 ONLY US has been enormous in his 2 wins to kick off the Carnarvon season and looks hard to beat again. He’s covered ground and been tough as nails on both occasions and the step to a mile now should only suit him better. DREAM ILLUSION is a great Carnarvon horse, gets 1.5kg on Only Us from last start and will appreciate the step to a mile. NEVER SOBER typically improves into his campaigns and can elevate quickly if he’s able to roll forward and land on the pace this time around. ALMA MATER is up in grade but can ride the speed with only 53kg. Numbers: 3-1-5-6 Suggested Bet – ONLY US WIN RACE 7 MYSTERY MINUTE was a sharp win with 60.5kg in the fastest 1200m of the season so far last start. He’s drawn awkwardly with speed to his inside but he drops 1kg, looks a progressive 4YO and has finished top 2 at 5 of his 6 starts this track/distance. MARS MISSION has been good at his 2 Carnarvon starts and now gets a considerable 4kg swing on Aardvark for being beaten just over a length in higher grade. AARDVARK couldn’t have done much more last start but now rises to a mammoth 63kg which is a leveller. INCANDESCENT LADY has plenty of speed and can give a sight with only 53kg for apprentice Tara Atherden on her first day in the saddle. Numbers: 4-2-1-9 Suggested Bet – MYSTERY MINUTE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,4,5,6 1,2,4,8 1,3 1,2,4,9 Market Market
