Chris Nelson’s Randwick Best Bets Posted on February 14, 2020 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Best Bets Race 4 No. 7 Dame Giselle Resuming youngster from the Snowden yard who although the early favourite for this race is likely to get out in the market as she does have a couple of hurdles to overcome. This will be her first outing on wet ground and if she’s to overcome the damp surface she’ll have to do it from a wide draw. Her numbers suggest she holds an advantage over her rivals and her recent barrier trial win was a good one. Happy to take the punt she can overcome the obstacles and land the win first up. Race 7 No.1 Kiamichi Reigning Golden Slipper winner who resumes off a break tomorrow following a couple of average efforts last prep which was only a short one. She’s a recent trial winner in good fashion and if you look at her overall form she is clearly better suited on wet ground, she did win the big one on an absolute bog so the wet conditions won’t concern her. Market a strong guide first up however I’m confident she’ll run well. Race 10 No.2 Vegadaze Drops back in grade tomorrow looking well placed to return to the winners circle. Beaten less than 3 lengths first up in the Group 2 Expressway here when overraced after a slow start suggests he’s come back in good enough order to get away with a Benchmark 88. Tomorrow will be his first start in restricted grade for some time, his past 4 outings have all been in Group company. No problems in the wet ground either.
