Scott Embry’s Saturday Broome Preview Posted on August 4, 2023August 4, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MY LIBERTY finished third behind Lo Lo Lonhro and Here No Cash in an 1100m maiden three starts ago. Both of those gallopers are subsequent winners which makes the form look good. Didn’t run out 1300m and then finished third in a C2 1000 behind Toppa The Mountain and Lo Lo Lonhro. Looks a winnable race for her. BLITZ EM HENRY is quick and coming back to 1200m looks to suit. JUST FOR MARCUS couldn’t quite go with the stablemate at Marble Bar. Broome runs questionable. GREATEST DESTINY can hold a spot from barrier 1. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – MY LIBERTY WIN RACE 2 DON’T WAIVER got out as far as 2500m in Adelaide. His first-up run in Broome over 1200m was solid only beaten 4.5L and then he put on an absolute galloping exhibition at Derby when set alight mid-race and extended away to win eased down by 8.5L. He doesn’t step that well but as long as he keeps in touch early he should measure up. GAMBLERS GOLD is really well placed by Yannick Valenti. He rises 6kg from last start but drops from a 70+ back into a 58+. ROCKING THE MERC comes back in trip after not seeing out the staying distance. DANEHILL STORM next best. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – DON’T WAIVER WIN RACE 3 SILKINIZE is looking for his fourth straight win at Broome. Think 1300m is right on his limit but on the bright side there’s no Apple Schnapps here. He’s jumping a lot better but it will still be heart in mouth stuff when the gates open. Expect they’ll look to kick through. SIOUX CITY drops 5kg. The So Sway race was one of the fastest races of the season at Broome so far and expect it to hold up as a form reference. PIT TO WIN has a gear change made and is always around the mark. MORDOR bounced back at Derby. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – SILKINIZE WIN RACE 4 FINAL PLAN missed away and then was shuffled back to an impossible position last start. Prior to that he won a C2 1435, a C2 1600 and ran second in a 58+ 1800 to Sunsphere. Provided he doesn’t bomb the start again he can bounce back. Different horse in front. BUSTERS FORCE will keep coming. Got the job done at 2000m last start and can hold form. YANKEE LIMA was able to capitalise on Final Plan’s misfortune last start and picked up a deserving win. HOOLAHOOPS next best. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – FINAL PLAN WIN RACE 5 UNO ME has been a model of consistency since coming up to Broome for Carey Martin. Four starts ago won a 58+ 1435 and last start ran second in a 58+ mile behind Yankee Lima. Looks the best form dropping back into a C2 and gets a gun run over the speed. ORTUM KRISP got the job done in style last start in a 1435m C1. Rises up in grade to a C2 and rises 2kg and has to run out an extra 200m. Few minor queries. SMART VISION won her first race at start 39 at Derby. FREQUENT FRIAR is one batting at the moment. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – UNO ME WIN RACE 6 ROGUE’S POINT was a scratching from the Cable Beach Caravan Park Cup and now attacks the Kimberley Cup 20 days between runs. He’s jumping, he’s rolling and he’s simply running rivals into the ground. Has to do it now over 2020m but back in his 3 year old days he did run third in a Tasmanian Derby over 2200m. Stays out of trouble and if he sees out the trip he’s hard to get past. TRUE ATTRACTION has to lump 64kg. Big effort behind a wildly slow tempo last start (first 1200m run 23L slower than average). SUNSPHERE looks to be peaking at the right time for a Cups campaign. POWERFUL is sticking on ok. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – ROGUE’S POINT WIN RACE 7 CHEERFUL MOMENT should be the ideal Broome horse in theory. He jumps and he loves to roll from the 800. Provided ZJP can work his way forward in the early stages and take over the front running he should just keep extending in the middle stages and play ‘catch me if you can’. That’s Broome racing and he looks a great acquisition for Aaron Pateman. GETYOURMONEYANDRUN improved sharply at his second start on the dirt. CONTESSA MEDICI has been in form all season. KING HALLOWELL is racing well enough at Port Hedland. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – CHEERFUL MOMENT WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3 1,3,4,5,6,7 1,3,6 1,2 Market Market
