Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on December 19, 2019December 24, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 SUNNYSILK should jump with them and take up a prominent position. Trial was solid without being impressive but this is an even race. No reason why she can’t deliver Renee Forrest a Saturday winner. MINDARIE gave Clarecastle her sixth individual winner. They are a jump and run family and she will again be hard to beat. SAFE REST trialed on Monday and was impressive when eased down in the late stages. CHICK FLIX again draws poorly but ran well on debut. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – SUNNYSILK WIN Race 2 ARNIE’S BOY was enormous last start when charging home into second from a long way back. This is a weak race and he could roll forward from the gate and slot in behind Rock’n’ruler and Zephyr Queen to enjoy an economical run. Has to be hard to beat. OVER THERE doesn’t show any gate speed and has to be niggled at a long way out. She did finish off strongly last start and caught the eye but her race pattern is always against her. PALACHINO was never a winning chance in a very slowly run affair last start. ZEPHYR QUEEN is a better mare than what she is currently showing. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – ARNIE’S BOY WIN Race 3 SUPERIOR SMILE gets an enormous 5kg off Royal Command for only being beaten a half head first-up and then 4.5kg off Arctic Stream when a better run in defeat behind Western Temple. Those weight swings put him right into this race. HARRY THOMAS is racing in career best form and should again roll to the top or take a sit on Magic Las Vegas. ARCTIC STREAM has hit form and finished strongly at his last two. ROYAL COMMAND was set a task last start after blowing like a gale in the market. Last behind a slow speed, he is up against it but reunites with W.Pike. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – SUPERIOR SMILE WIN Race 4 UNDISCLOSED looks set to break back into the winner’s circle. Absolutely bolted in first-up and then has been dealt barrier draws which have forced her to go back to last. She backs up off 3 days from Wednesday, drops 4kg, draws a perfect alley and looks very hard to hold out. DON’T FUSS looks like coming out running in an attempt to find the top. He has gone to a new level since being ridden for speed over the short course. DANCE MUSIC is not stepping well at the moment and back to 1000 would want to improve. YEAH DARDY has no excuses from the inside. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – UNDISCLOSED WIN Race 5 THIS’LL TESTYA goes round at Winx odds. Stepping out to 1200 for the first time is a new test for her but so far she has clocked some mouthwatering sectionals. Last start figures were season best to date and she’ll be a length in front after 1 stride drawn gate 1. Owned by a perfect mix of millionaires and battlers. Good luck on the ride. PREVAILING WINDS can come across and tow ball the favourite and be there at the finish. Excellent placement and use of a 3kg claimer. ZENAZE is racing well but was no match for This’ll Testya last start. HALUSA can run a cheeky race into the novelties. Fast run race suits the big fella. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – WATCH AND ADMIRE Race 6 LAVERROD is the State’s best maiden at the minute. First-up was slow away and then massive in defeat behind Massimo in a Placid Arc run 4L faster than average before looming the winner in a Lee Steere which was 5L faster than average. That has to be the form reference and he draws inside his main rival. LEVITATE was big last start from off the speed in a 1000m dash dominated from the top. Looks a very nice animal in the making. SILKINIZE’s best run this preparation was when ridden cold behind Massimo. Expecting Harvey to settle him out the back. DOWNFORCE can improve after racing a touch flat last start. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – LAVERROD WIN Race 7 NOT TO BE MIST will be a leg of many a multi player on Saturday and it’s always a slight concern that in his toughest test to date he goes round at his shortest quote. He did what only good animals can do last start when set alight midrace against his usual pattern and was able to fight off a big challenge late. This is a high speed race and he’ll concede a big head start but he’s impressive. BARAKI BEATS actually boasts the highest recent rating in the race. He finished within a length of them in the Carbine Club against far more credentialled opposition than this. HEART STARTER draws to box seat and is racing well. MANKIND deserves to get some luck. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – NOT TO BE MIST WIN Race 8 REGAL POWER was simply breathtaking when winning the Railway Stakes from last and then was just as good at WFA over 1800m in a slowly run and on-pace dominated Kingston Town. His closing sections were those of a proper horse and he looks to have the ‘Ted’ and the Perth Cup at his mercy. MISSISSIPPI DELTA is not suited in Weight for Age conditions. Her race will be the Perth Cup where as a Quality Handicap she’ll get significant pull off Regal Power. GATTING sat deep the trip in the Kingston Town and was massive. He is always a winning chance. SPIRITUAL WARRIOR looked all at sea on Wednesday when not leading. Must lead here. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – REGAL POWER WIN Race 9 ELECTRIC LIGHT is naturally a big query at a mile but she still finished off over 1400m in a race which on paper was never going to be suitable for her. They walked and she was drawn wide with nothing capable of towing her into the race. She can bounce back. PERFECT JEWEL was doing her best work late in the Jungle Dawn and should enjoy a lovely run midfield. MIZLECKI draws a touch sticky but was a better run than Perfect Jewel in the Railway. Can’t be discounted. LIKE A BUTTERFLY is simply quality, consistent and tough mare who is always in the finish. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – ELECTRIC LIGHT WIN Race 10 BRITISH BESSY vs SENTIMENTAL GIFT round 3. Currently the score reads 1-1 and I’m siding with BRITISH BESSY to turn the tables this time round. Gets 2.5kg on Sentimental Gift and importantly draws an inside alley. She has shown tactical speed to hold a position in running and should be right in the finish. BROTHER’S KEEPER is a big winner at the barrier draw and gets 3.5kg on Sentimental Gift from their last encounter. SENTIMENTAL GIFT is improving with racing and has a powerful turn of foot. Just needs some luck from the draw. PUSH TO PASS maps to enjoy an identical run to last start when going close. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – BRITISH BESSY WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,2,3,4 2,6 5 4,6,7 Quaddie (Race 7 – 10) 3,4 5 1,2,3,4,5,6 1,2,3,6 Market Market
