Scott Embry’s Saturday Narrogin Preview Posted on December 20, 2019December 20, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 RUN FOR MONEY ran sixth first-up behind River Beau, Jakestar and Casino War. River Beau has run a placing since in C1, Jakestar ran second in a maiden and Casino War broke her maiden. Strong enough form. GORGEOUS GUS trialed well and ran a race on debut after being slow away. If he jumps cleanly he is right in the mix. MISS QUOTED went round Thursday and if backing up off 2 days can win. TRULY SMUG could be a blow out back on grass. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – RUN FOR MONEY WIN Race 2 CARMURLEA trialed well twice in July and didn’t make the classic Pateman trip to Broome. Returns to the races first-up, no trial and with some luck from a sticky draw can run a race on debut. MOORUMBINE was good first-up after a solid trial. The second-up effort was too bad to be true. Forgive and follow up. IT’S TIFFS is a bomb at trials so maybe the 930 is just what she’s looking for. FLYING SQUIRREL is not impossible but likely needs further. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – CARMURLEA WIN Race 3 ICE MAKER is a wonderful opportunity for Austin Galati to ride his first winner. Ice Maker is seriously quick and instructions are likely to be ‘handlebars down son’ and he’ll keep attacking. HAMADA won well last start leading all the way but cops pressure here. SECRET ASSAULT was strong last start and draws a gate. TIME TO TRADE an improver and likely to be a quality NW acquisition. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – ICE MAKER WIN Race 4 NOT AGAIN KEN has not seen a race this weak in a long time. His last 45 outings (since March 2017) have been in higher grade than this and while the grey can be enigmatic if Castle can keep him happy forward of midfield he’ll take serious beating. STAIRWAY TOTHEMOON is yet to hit form this preparation but can stay. ARMED AND READY continues to tease punters and loom without finishing off. CAPTAIN JACK is always around the mark and super consistent. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – NOT AGAIN KEN WIN Race 5 LAW MAJOR is only second up this campaign after a freshen between preparations. First-up never travelled and was beaten 15L but stepping up to 1700 and into a weak race he can win. Kristy Bennett can find the front and he should run a race. HOLLYWOOD ROCK will be a big price after being beaten 12L first-up at Albany but this is a much more suitable race and he loves Narrogin and Beaux Edwards. BLACK SMUGGLER is hard to beat and draws a nice alley. GLEN ALBYN another winning chance in a wide open race. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – LAW MAJOR EACHWAY Race 6 DANCE MINDY DANCE has been enormous at two starts for Mark Wright. She was purchased as an 8 year old mare in the twilight of her career after having 51 starts. Not many would have bid but Mark Wright has done a wonderful job with her. She drops in grade, blinkers go on and looks very hard to hold out. TWISTED MOUNTAIN can bounce back and is suited in this grade. Sam Faithful’s team are going well. SWANKY LASS is drawn wide but has the speed to overcome the alley. ALL THAT SIZZLE is in a similar boat. Speed to get out of trouble. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – DANCE MINDY DANCE WIN Race 7 SCANDALOUS MISS really should be a Narrogin type of horse. She is quick, drawn the inside, leads and rails well. If she can pinch a break cornering she should give a mighty sight. ALL SQUARE is a big danger and another plumb ride for Austin Galati. Excellent placement in this grade. FOXY LAD can improve without surprising. LICABULL is going well. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – SCANDALOUS MISS WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,5 1,3,4,6 1,2,3,9 1,6 Market Market
