He finished third in an Esperance maiden at a mile, third at 2000m in a C2 behind Bellini Boy and Free Solo and then went into a 2200m maiden a month between runs coming back the metro area when finishing 9L off Celebrity Icon and Optimal. Big margin but that’s probably the best form reference for this race. He’s fit, he runs the trip and he’s drawn to get every chance. JOLLY ODD is a career maiden. She’s now a 7 year old and has been battling away for seasons. Would be great to see her pinch one and if she does it’ll be a maiden handicap leading all the way. WHAIRITI was poor last start. Prior runs were sound. MISS ANONYMITY has shown glimpses. Numbers: 5 – 9 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – MERITIA WIN RACE 2 BRAIXES SON is an interesting runner. Having his first start for Bruce Watkins after three outings for Grant & Alana Williams when struggling. In his first-up run last preparation he was beaten 9L, but by Laced Up Heels, Desert Nymph, Mystic Jane, Baalbek and Little Silver. Has been trialling well enough for ZJP and going to a maiden handicap he strikes weak opposition. Going to roll the dice with him. COMMANDING OFFICER has his first outing for matt Scott after going through an Inglis Online Sale. This is much weaker than what he has contested throughout his career to date. ITS MY CHOICE joins Ike Racing and has speed. That’s half the battle at Narrogin at times. TALKING HEADS has been racing consistently but can’t draw a gate. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – BRAIXES SON WIN RACE 3 FIRE ANT is only a last start winner of a 56+ at Pingrup, yet in this field that looks good enough to win again. The last time she raced at Narrogin she won by 1.5L and broke a winless streak of over 1000 days. She might be an 8 year old mare, but she’s racing in career best form and Autin Galati rode her a treat last start. See no reason why she can’t win again. OLD BAILEY is quick. If he’s ready to rock and roll he could be a hard one to run down on a jump and run mission. RED CADILLAC ran a ripper fresh at 1200m first-up last campaign. Has a handy turn of foot on her day. THE ANVIL is an outer provincial track specialist. He’s as capable at Narrogin as he is at York. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – FIRE ANT WIN RACE 4 DANUBE RIVER is a lightly raced 3 year old who looks well placed into a 46+. She was able to win a maiden at Albany first-up over 1000m and then was good enough into a distant third at Albany in a C2 on a heavily rain affected track to suggest that back into a 46+ she would take beating. Drawn barrier 1 and should have sufficient toe to hold up leader’s back. Gets much tougher if she’s shuffled back to three back the fence. HEARTLY is a different horse when she races at Narrogin and York. Some horses love those unique tracks and she’s definitely one of them. MASTER BUDDHA was $26 into $3.60 at Pingrup. Someone got an absolute fortune out of him. Too strong. KAYLANI was racing well before her let up. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – DANUBE RIVER WIN RACE 5 IZZY MAY is a get back sprinter. She’ll end up a long way off them in running from her wide draw but don’t rip up the ticket, she’s got a big turn of foot for 46+ grade and her last three wins have been in this exact grade. Just needs the leaders to be stopping and for horses to be able to make ground down the centre to be a live chance at odds. Worth consideration. TINYNTUFF is usually around the mark when she draws an inside gate and can sneak cheap runs along the inside. Gets that set up in this. LIVING HIGH an improver back to this grade of racing. DYNAMITE BAY won well at Pingrup. Numbers: 4 – 10 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – IZZY MAY WIN RACE 6 STRAWBERRY MIST looks ready to win fourth-up and right back in grade. First-up this preparation she ran third behind Differentiator and Dream Evil in a C3 1400 at Belmont Park. Since then she’s gone to another 3x C3 races and finished midfield. Her recent 3L margins from the likes of Flower In The Wind, Comealilbitcloser, Great Heist, Bandalera Beau and Here For Cheques reads up well for a 46+ at Narrogin. They’ll roll along throughout and she’s a proven staying type. Very well placed. SEA WAIF is a query at 1720m but she should find the front and roll. Great to see Hannah Fitzgerald back at the races. JOLLY LACE won the Rose of York in a tough gritty manner. She’ll keep coming. ENGLISH BAY an improver. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – STRAWBERRY MIST WIN RACE 7 OFF WEGO backs up off 7 days from his fourth behind Friar Away, Soviet Spy and Flower In The Wind in a 66+ at Ascot and prior to that finished a narrow second in the Esperance Cup. He’s clearly come back to racing well and is the kind of horse who can park three deep and make his move down the side and be put into the race. He’ll be right in the finish off the upcoming Cups Series (Narrogin, Albany, Geraldton). AWESOME CHATTER and WEE RIPPER ran the quinella in a 60+ Graduation last start at Ascot over 1800. They meet again here over 1900 in the Narrogin Cup and there’s clearly not much between them on ability. Awesome Chatter may not start. RATION ALY has shown she can stay. She’s slowly but surely been building into the prep. Numbers: 4 – 1 – (3) – 6 Suggested Bet – OFF WEGO WIN RACE 8 BLAISZEN CAZAH doesn’t win out of turn but he’s always a chance in these 52+ ratings races. More importantly, he’s turned into a bit of a Narrogin specialist, with his last two wins being over the 1720 in 46+ and 52+ grade at this track. Honest effort behind Scream In Blue and Bentley Beau last week at Mt Barker and goes well on the back-up. Nice use of the Gaerth claim to help his cause. MISSALFIE missed a start in the Narrogin Cup. She’s a big danger in this. ODDONEOUT took an eternity to win a race and then has given her patient connections a lot of run winning both the Kojonup and Pingrup Cups. PASARAN won well in a very similar race at York two back. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – BLAISZEN CAZAH WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,4,6,8,10 1,3,6 1,2,(3),4,6 3,4 Market Market
